I love how humans in these types of stories are these badasses who survived on earth that according to aliens is the most dangerous planet Yet out military works on the greatest invention ever...the pointy stick
You vastly underestimate the power of throwing rocks. Seriously, every modern military weapon is basically just better ways to throw better rocks farther and with more effect.
The story archetype comes from the HFY subreddit. This is either straight up a ripoff of an existing story without or without minor alterations to claim "ownership" or just a AI generated story using the tropes of that subreddit.
Absolutely loved this story! The idea that the Galactic Council warned other aliens about humans, but they didn't listen, really flips the usual sci-fi trope on its head. It's intriguing to think about humans being the formidable ones in the galaxy. What do you all think makes humans so uniquely dangerous or resilient in these kinds of stories?
i read a book years ago about a soldier i think who went looking for a buddy who disappeared only to find he was fighting a war in space other species where losing against an incursion and only humans were aggressive enough to stop them.
Our history on this planet and our inseparable partnership with war is probably what makes humans so dangerous. Then there's the fact that humans are incredibly adaptable to almost any environment.
In my opinion, the best reason would be: "Myelin". That probably needs a bit of explaining. Myelin makes our nervous system function incredibly fast. But we (not just humans/mammals, it was pretty early in our evolution) didn't really develop it ourselves, we sort of "absorbed" it from a virus and made it our own. There are other ways to increase the function of the nervous system, but considering how could Myelin is, it could be at the very top.
Aliens - lets give hummanity super technlogy which push thier advance to 200 years to future! So they can join galactic alliance! HUmanity - nice stuff... Can we use it to even faster killing eachoter? Aliens - ... WHAT?
The adjective and adverb count is still to high, but I made it to the 5 minute mark before ejecting. Feels like this was written by an AI and lightly edited.
Master Of Orion 3 wasn't particularly well-received, but I really love that game! More relevantly, I also really love the story that goes along with the game. It's reasonably long, about the size of a novella. There's a part in that story, when Humans become ascendent in the galaxy, ushering in an era known as the Pax Humana - The Human Peace (reminiscent of the Pax Romana of the nascent Roman empire). The way this story ended reminded me rather strongly of that part of the Master of Orion 3 backstory.
Humanity, physically is not the threat. Most, and as a species, will lie by every contrivance and nefarious means to gain an advantage over you, and even over themselves. That is what misanthropy is all about.
It at one time sounds very familiar to an old story I heard years ago on youtube but it also uses a lot of words and phrases the AI that writes stories is fond of. I got no proof but this does not feel like an original story written by a human.
Are you saying the Cosmos isn't expensive? Well in case that face palm obscures your vision the Cosmos is a little bigger than your local.shopping centre and quite expansive and the late Carl Sagan was clear on that point and no face palm needed and your next video might be his on the Cosmos 😅
@@stephenconnell so you are one of those. Anyway, it has nothing to do with the size of the universe. In case you haven't realised, a lot of channels have started using AI to write stories and those stories often have the same kind of wording with similar terminologies. And to be honest, they are never worth the read/listen.
May I please ask that the highlight of the words be removed? I am often where I cannot listen to audio, so I use silent mode and just read. If there is a way to make the words scroll almost like a Star Wars opening credit, then that would be an awesome option. It’s a lot to ask for someone doing this for free for others…but I have subscribed and will pledge support.
One definition of friend is someone that you use. The best definition of friend is someone that you use to "their" advantage. If you are not looking out for the best interests of the ones you use, then you are not a friend. My father was a Satan worshiper and, like this story, followed the first definition of friend and always wondered why he was always alone among the stars.
Quote, _"Cars and planes became obsolete for most urban dwellers, replaced by efficient public transit systems using antigravity and hyperspeed technologies."_ Cars? Unlikely, but a big maybe. But you can't just replace *planes* with a public transit system - unless they're bullet trains traveling in near vacuum tunnels that cross oceans and circle the globe.
Many seem to forget that *not everyone* lives in cities where almost every sort of business one could desire is close by and one can travel to work or see a medical specialist or find whatever food or leisure you want within minutes. As of 2020, only 44% of the world's population lived in cities, with 43% in towns and suburbs, and 13% in rural areas.
And what the heck are "hyperspeed technologies"? Is that like "lightspeed" in Star Wars? I had expected this tech dump on humans to include something like transporters, wormholes or short range teleportation. But, apparently not. Antigravity implies *flying cars* (or buses) and antigrav planes, which are just sci-fi versions of automobiles and planes as they should look and function similarly.
@@XpaceTrue no absolutely not no no no no they'll take my car over my cold dead body molon labe currus (in case the text itself doesn't denote it I'm half kidding about the harshness of my statement if not the central point)
Sigh. How many channels of AI drivil are going to flood hfy!?? Can't find actual good new stories anymore!! It's even worse than the r/IDWH repetitive drivil. And then everyone clapped as the aliens laughed.😢
on the one hand, claims "original story, written and owned by me!" Next line, tries to defend themselves by quoting "fair use" provisions. Then doesn't acknowledge the ACTUAL author of the piece. Another bot-driven, read by text-to-speech channel that just steals other people's work without attribution. Channel blocked with blocktube. I for one won't be party to supporting this kind of bullshit.
