I fear that this one may be too crunchy for my husband, so I am waffling back-and-forth on it. *sigh* I think I would love it. Him, I am not so sure about. It looks terrific! Thanks for the video!

@@inspired2game 2 years ago he was a casual gamer at best, but he has come a long way since then. Recently we have been playing and enjoying euros such as The Castles of Burgundy and Lorenzo il Magnifico.

Excellent video (as usual for you). Your explanations were really clear! I might have missed it but did you mention that the boards were double (triple?) layered (and look quite thick as well). Oh ... do I see the 2nd wave ISS Vanguard on your shelf?

Thank you!! I actually didn’t mention it, as it didn’t occur to us lol. But yes! The player board was dual layer and quite thick. All the components are top notch. And yes!! Second wave has arrived! We haven’t had time to dig back in for awhile, but we’re excited to get to it. 😁

I’m confused how having working places locked by who gets there first introduces luck? It adds strategic depth because you can do your second best move but also limit other people’s options which makes it your best move. I’d actually go so far as to say it is the key feature that makes worker placement such a great mechanic! Of course other takes on WP are fun. How do bumps work in this?

It depends on the game. I had in mind something like Viticulture, where your entire turn strategy can be based on needing to get one spot first, as your other actions cascade off the first (if you don’t get that initial action for the season, the rest of your plans can be thwarted for the round). That’s where luck in introduced by who gets there first. But you’re right, that’s not true for all worker placements. Often you can pivot easier and simply redirect your strategy. Bumps in this game ensure you can always use any action, but if you bump, that player is given an extra funding bonus immediately.
