Yeah. That's exactly what I told others. Colors can be adjusted and most content creators do color correction using their video editing apps anyway so the detail, less lens flares, noise reduction of the S23U is more important than anything else.

I don't think people criticized the S21 or S22. They were just a bit behind from Apple in the video department. But yes, the S23 is looking like a challenger in terms of video. This looks awesome NGL.

@BUSY BEE 🐝 even on 4k. He showed it and then it's cool to have the 8k as an extra even if it's not going to be needed. Samsung has just spoiled his consumers with more than enough features that they could have rolled out in 2 decades. Im sure smart phones wouldn't have been this advanced if not for samsung. Yes, I agree for professionals. Most average consumer would prefer a point, click, and shoot type of camera phone experience with the optimization and tweaks baked in the camera. The S23 Ultra is a beast and probably the best video camera on the android side

But that wasn’t the intention of this video. Like he said, this test only shows what the cameras do out of the box with no additional settings used.

You can get similar details with the s22 Ultra. Just not automatically. If you adjust the temperature to a bit more warm, add a bit more contrast, and reduce the exposure, you'll see better detail. I've been doing this on mine. It's especially more pronounced when I use Lumafusion preset adjustments.

Notice how almost no one complains about apple using same design for years but when samsung uses the same design for only 2nd year in a row it gets hate for being the same thing

Nah in day light they are the same but in night time the iPhone is clearly still a lot better not just with colors but also in HDR. Samsung haas to work on their HDR video for sure. 8k30 is impressive tho. Definitely sharper than the iPhone.

There was literally no difference between the 2 which is actually a good thing as the S22U was nowhere near the iPhone. This means that Samsung made a generational improvement. And I believe it wasn't even the Samsung but Qualcomm. They really smashed the ISP this year which shows in the 8k example which was absolutely mind-blowing considering the point that the 8k videography was in last year. Not only it is not zoomed in but also the stabilization is significantly improved and the quality is orders of magnitude better. Also better is the HDR where it was non-existent last year. Even tho the iPhone is still better. Yet iPhone video HDR is like a technological work of art. So Qualcomm catching up to that level will really bring android videography on a whole different level. There is no doubt in my mind that Android phones phones will surpass apple in photography as well on a mass scale not just the selected few which in this year case was only Pixel 7 Pro. That's ofc until iPhone 15 Pro which will get 1 inch sensor. This will be interesting to see Apple finally catching up to android in the top of the line hardware.

Its not a huge improvement, they were bragging about their new camera sensor....there is no WOW factor.

And the 8k is wider angle not cropped in anymore and 30fps instead of 24fps so its finally worth using 8k mode before it was pointless

Have the same phone but an update a year ago broke the camera. Any video with panning motion is choppy. Purely a SW issue that hasnt been fixed nor will it.

Same here, 13 Pro Max user. Samsung really stepped up their game, but, a little bit of tweaking and fine tuning, thus voilà the S23U will be among the best video on a smartphone.
