Mythical I remember my Galaxy S3. The battery life was pretty much non existent. I could leave the phone in my pocket all day, without using it, and the battery life would be at 17% by day's end. Since then, I'm wary of Samsung phones.
such a good video that finally answers what no one else could spend more then 15 seconds on in comparative videos. unfortunately it's not using the 820 which I would end up with. I'll subscribe though because it's not his fault it has the exynos.
In most benchmark tests the snapdragon scores higher than the exynos but in real life use the exynos seems to be faster. personally i belive the reason why the snapdragon s7 scores higher is because of the gpu. The adreno gpu on the snapdragon s7 is better than the mali gpu on the exynos s7. But my pick is the exynos and the phone i own is the s7 edge. The exynos processor just seems a bit more exotic than the snapdragon dosent it? Every other phone has the snapdragon 820 but samsung is the only company that uses exynos.
finally, someone who actually understands the questions people have when they look for 's7 battery life' in the search bar. basically, why S7 edge over S7, and why S7 over S6. subbed!
Yeah same here. I have S7, with constant use browsing apps, internet, videos etc I lose 1% every 5 or so mins. And the phone gets hot! Kind of disappointing tbh.
If you Disable all Bloatware (more than 100 pre-installed packages), you will save a lot of battery life and your phone run faster. There is a tool on "Google Play" can help you do it with only One-Click, it name "BK Package Disabler Samsung" (NO ROOT requires)
Dmitry - Really appreciate your battery life comparisons. Excellent and to the point! Battery Life is one of the most important factors to me. I'm subscribing! Also I'll be interested in any comparison you do re: camera. I'm interested in S7 (possibly S7 Edge) for 2 qualities: 1) corner to corner resolution and lack of distortion when doing interior photos and video for homes I list or preview for clients; and 2) image readability when interior photos or video taken in certain restricted or lowlight situations. I'll stay tuned to your channel
Hello my friend! I think your channel is fantastic! I know you are going to be very big on RU-vid very soon! I wish you the best and I love your great high quality videos! Greetings from Mexico City! :)
Just subscribed :) Great detail. Can you pl do a comparison between Exynos 8890 & Snapdragon 820 for these phones in terms of Speed, battery & pure performance. I wana see you doing a video on it before I take the plunge to buy one :)
+Karthik Nellian Arunachalam Thank you for subscribing - I don't think i'll be able to get my hands on an 820 model unfortunately since i'm in the UK! (sorry about that!)
So I believe the UK has Exynos 8890. I use an entry level moto g and want to get my hands on a flagship for a while. Does the S7 edge satisfy the bill? :)
I'm planning on switching from an s6 to the s7 of s7 edge and I wanted to know if the difference in the two s7 devices was worth a slight increase in price. But this video definitely helped and I think I'll go with the s7. Thanks!👍
I had S6 last year, battery was so and so but after 10 months I did not notice a huge difference. Last May I bought S7: at the beginning the performance was amazing, but after less than 2 months...well, with a low use stand by is about 12-14h, otherwise with a high use it drops to 6 (I mean, when i take a lot of photos, I don-t have any game). It went 3 times to assistance but they did nothing and it will certainly be my last Samsung.
yes! it's worth it! I came from the s6 too the s7 and wow what a difference! by 4pm my s6 on average was at 25% from 6am. my s7 sits at roughly 60% at 4pm..
The S6 didn't have a good battery life from the beginning , it was just average , what would you expect from a 2550 mah battery anyway, even the S5 had a larger battery .
The Tech Chap TV Np! hopefully you get many more subs! You show quality and it's not simply done for money reason u like adrianisen you see some good work in this. Keep it up!
Try the app Force Doze for improved standby which helps a bit. For use improvements a Pixel app could work a bit. They turn off every other Pixel to save battery or turn off GPS. This can help and other tricks though it takes the fun out of the phone.
+Maurice lopez thanks very much :) I will try and keep awesome videos coming heh, although I don't at the moment have a way of getting the SD820 version being in the UK
Pretty good comparison. I have a galaxy s7. Its my first samsung. I had Droid before this, And most droids looked ugly. So i decided to go too a better looking phone and im liking the samsung from the inside out.
I prefer the S7 edge even though I don't like larger phones as much. Think the bigger battery should hold up for a day as long as I own the phone . I'd say the fact I've stuck with the LG G2 til now shows how much I like smaller phones . Thing is the 3000ma battery became pretty poor/average after a year for me.
Nice I'm sure you'll enjoy how thin and compact it is for having the large screen! Not sure if your use more protective cases, but this is best slim case I've found. Still can lay my s7 face down. www.amazon.com/Ringke-Snug-Fit-Tailored-Ultra-Thin-Coverage/dp/B01AIRE1PY?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00
just did the same youtube test on my galaxy s7, 1 hour, max brightness, same video, mute. I got 77% after 1 hour, compared to 84% which is what he got a freakin' brand new phone. I would say that is awesome after 6 years of usage.
subscribed ! best battery comparisaon i've ever seen, but tell me, is that the exynos variant S7 or snapdragon ? and how much does the " always on mode ' consume in battery ?
really good battery review, can you test the note 5 vs the s7 battery because I have a note 5 looking to upgrade to the s7, I wanna see which one has better battery life
Do a test comparing the game laucher's feature to "save power" during a game. See how much more batter life you gain if you have that feature on. Also, it would be nice if you do the same battery test against other phones, like the Nexus and iPhone.
Nice video.Everyone talking about s7 but actually doing review about s7 edge. Before i watch the video I thought my s7 spoiled because of poor battery life but the things i saw on review here are in no better condition than mine.I think it's time to go beyond the technology of AC power, this is a dead end
I think i have the same problem my galaxy s7 battery is worse than the reviews claim but most of them only talk about the edge one and i thought mine was bad
+mohamed nasser some good battery saver apps on the play store that will probably help , i have one on my note 4 , it allows me to make custom settings to keep certain apps turned off with the flick of a button , it gives you a multiple white lists of apps you want to stay open and ones you dont , very useful , helps with performance too not having crap running in the back ground that should not be.. but even just going through the phones apps and deciding what you will never use and disabling is well worth the time taken imo.
Jorn Elzinga mine's refurbished and cannot make cellular calls :'( have a really bad luck when it comes to phones lol i saved up for s6 and bought it.. later found out it was fake Fml
+NoLimit56 Gaming if you live in us you'll not gonna get it or if you do than only from overseas with no warranty. I don't get why Samsung is not selling unlocked phones...
Great video i think the s7 + Fast charge powerbank would be the ideal choice:) J.R Bourne doppleganger? ..more like the younger version. ( Teen wolf Cast)
I own the S6 edge and I just use Samsung's fast charging powerbank which is for $30. Saves the day but at least I'm not paying $700+ just for slight improvements and it's a good investment for future phones in any case
s7 is waterproof has sd card has a waaay better battery life faster charging a waaay much better camera better screen e.t.c but u can wait until s8 if u need to
Got the S7. Should I turn off fast charging? I'm not sure if it affects the life span of the battery, as you said when you keep changing the phone it has an affect and I was wondering if fast charging makes it worse?
I'd turn it off with the exception of when your in a hurry, true batteries do degrade over time but I managed to kill my note 4's battery in under a year (10.5-11 months) luckily it has the removable battery so I just bought a replacement from a 3rd party. maybe samsung worked out this issue on the newer phones but if you have to replace the battery on the s7 it won't be so easy. I still have an s4 that I got a year before the note and it's battery is still holding up quite well so I'm fairly certain fast charging played a role. ps the notes battery wasn't completely dead but it would die with 35-40% left.
+James Skinner not much at all on the s4 anyways. almost had the new battery for a year and there is absolutely no change but I swap between 2 so I can't be sure at all
S7, the regular, should have the same 5.5'' display and 3600 mAh battery. Because I hate curved screens, I got the S7 and NEVER will buy an Edge variant.
The difference in the game is because of vulkan api. And the estimated battery life on s7 is not accurate, It does an average of the duration of the last 7 days
