I have bought every classic/pro model until the Watch five because they did away with the physical bezel The Watch five was my first regular Galaxy watch 44 mm I fell in love with it i Will never buy another classic /pro pre- ordered my Watch 644 mm yesterday
The rotating bezel is the critical factor for me. Last year I traded in my old galaxy watch version 1 to upgrade to the Galaxy watch 5 pro thinking that the lack of rotating bezel wouldn't bother me much. I use my watch as a golf gps and found that navigation through swipes with sweaty fingers not only smearing the screen, but getting false presses was a pain in the you know where. I just preordered the 6 classic and will trade in my 5 pro
@localguidei6824 I had forgotten that there was a Galaxy Gear S3 Frontier. I still have at least two of those somewhere. Haven't seen them since I moved 14 months ago. Thank you for reminding me because it filled a gap in my memory.
allow me to put forward that while sapphire crystal is far more scratch resistant, it is less impact resistant than glass. your watch cracked despite being sapphire because it is meant for a different resistance than the forces it came up against. sapphire crystal works best when inset and protected by a bezel so only corners can really hit it, since the regular/active variants have no protection, they are very prone to cracking. hope this is informative!
Galaxy Watch 6 45mm and Classic 47mm could have been the perfect smartwatches if they had the 3-day battery 🔋 life of the Watch 5 Pro But Samsung has become worse than Apple, when they give 1 thing, they take out another, now with Samsung, it's 1 step forward 2 steps back 🤦🏽♂️
Last rotation bezel for me was the watch 3 I think and I don't miss it. The look of the regular is just more tech'sh and futuristic imo. Regular Watch 6 all the way.
Agreed, although the classic looks fantastic, I recently bought a good dressy Tissot, so I want something more casual and sporty, that I can wear for a run and sleeping
@@therealskeptic1 oh yeah the regular version is orientated to a more active consumer I think. Will be strange to jog wearing a nice looking watch as the classic like running with polish shoes.
Yeah I pre-ordered the watch six classic I love the bulky big watch I just recently in the last week left a long-term relationship with Apple and switch to android. Went with the Razr+ I got tired of the brick phone meaning the iPhone it doesn’t flip etc. so I gave my iPhone 13 pro max to my wife because she’s a loyal Apple user and sold my Apple Watch Ultra and since switching to android i’m much happier. I’ve always loved flip phones back in the day, but now that they’re straight touch screens I love it even more now if Apple ever comes out with a foldable of their own, I’ll go back, but until then I’m sticking with android, and you do so much more when it comes to multitasking with android that you can’t do on iPhone
I’m an apple user but I’m getting a Samsung as a second line, I used an older galaxy watch with a rotating bezel (2016?) and enjoyed it, but I feel having the same feature as haptic feedback is fine and more modern. The all flat display is very appealing to the eye. No need to spend extra money for the rotating ring, so I got the regular 6 and some glass protectors on Amazon. ☺️
@@ii_dynastyrespectfully, who cares about "iconic" from a Samsung watch 😂 I'm all about function baby. Can't lie though I am torn between which one to get. I actually really like the aesthetic of the Classic, but am super drawn to the lighter weight, less bulky watch. We'll see !
@@james-ji2ym Not worth it as an upgrade from the Watch4 Classic 46mm. I have good battery. I like the thick bezel of it, and the screen is already bright and big enough for me. Plus I don't really care about the .5GB RAM more and the newer SoC. It's already fast enough for me. The Watch6 series have the temp sensor which is quite useless as Samsung still didn't release it, and the heart rate and sleep tracking tend to be inaccurate compared to the Watch 4 and 5. So the Watch4 Classic is a win for me. Almost 2 years that I have it and it's still going strong. There are still updates (though I'm avoiding latest one) and I like the brushed and matte finish of it. Whereas the Watch6 Classic has a glossy finish with less brushed finition. After all it's your opinion. But when it comes to upgrades I just don't until something new and big is released. Haven't upgraded my S9 until the S23 (and I didn't want to, the S23 was a gift). I was waiting for some huge technology innovation like camera under screen.
I sold the 5 Pro because I have a 17cm wrist and that watch was too thick, wide and heavy. I don't consider the smaller versions (43mm and 40mm because the battery will suck). The 47mm version of the 6 Classic is even thicker and heavier than the 5 Pro, I preferred to take the Watch 6 LTE (44mm)
u happy with that? i was planning to buy classic 43mm but not sure about it. im beetween 43mm classic ws 44mm lte? which one u would prefer? do u thing 44 vs 43mm makes too much difference?
@arifulasertunc2341 I have both. Sizes. The smaller is just that. If you want a bigger screen. Get the larger. If not, get the smaller. For most wrists, the smaller has best proportions. Better for sleep tracking less, Clunky.
@arifulasertunc2341 Smaller for sure. Fits my wrist well. Bands fit better. Less clunky. More believable. That it's a watch. What I mean is that it doesn't stick out as a smart watch. Honestly, when I got the bigger watch, I thought the bigger screen would add to the usability. But I use the bezel and buttons 98% of the time, so the bigger screen is lossed on me. If you use your watch for directions, maps, or reading Maaaybe. The larger is marginally useful. Overall, I am pleased with both. But if I could only pick one. It's the smaller. If you have huge wrists, the larger might blend better. Hope this helps. Also, the battery is about the same, no difference. So just pick whichever you like more.
I just bought a watch 6 for $120 yesterday. Currently have watch 3 classic. I haven't received the new one yet, but I feel I'm gonna miss the rotating bezel. 🤦♂️ Plus I'm a welder and it takes quite a beating daily. Guess we'll see how it goes. 🤷♂️
The One UI 6 Update on watch 6 brings the energy score, as well, I have the watch 6 44 and I have tried the new update. Don't need to change. Also the performance has improved a lot
I'm going to buy the watch 6 classic probably. But maybe I should wait for the Pixel watch 2? Thanks for the video though. Your videos are the best the are.
The hardest hurdle for me wanting the Samsung Galaxy watch is the lack of Fitbit service, as I'm already in that ecosystem. I heard that Fitbit is releasing a Wear OS app so I'm really hoping that Galaxy watch gets Fitbit support I can opt into.
Galaxy watch 6 classic I was looking for a smart watch but nevet liked the sportylooks or square face of apple however the classic gives the looks of a traditional watch which is what i was after and the rotating bezel looks and feels great fantastic watch with a good weight like a traditional good quality watch
What about black paint durability in classic version? Is it tend to wear/chip over time? I really like black colour because it is the most universal and it basically match to everything, but my biggest concern is its durability.
Very durable. I had the Gear S3 for four years. No issues with black color being removed. I still have the Watch 4 Classic in black and no issues either.
@@sterling68 Yea but I don't think there will be a better deal than the one right now. $200 off, free watch band, and $50 store credit with trade in of Watch 4 Classic is pretty crazy.
Do it bro! I just did it. On the Samsung store they will give you 200 trade in credit and the watch processor supposedly is much better smoother and you get .5 ram more so a total of 2 gb ram !
hey mike, if its possible what would you recommend watch 5pro, watch 6,watch6 classic. Battery life for me is important and planning to use as everyday smartwatch and workouts.
@@MikeOBrienMedia wow thank you so much man appreciated the response. Also would you care to make a video about it. Comparing watch5 pro and watch6 classic. Definitely interested on that.
It's interesting when people think of the aesthetics is worth extra money when tech industry touches fashion but the pure fashion industry products complete useless apparently good looking "designer" things which I never found interesting. Maybe it's about the customers in both the segments.
I had both and returned the classic. The rotating dial doesn't make it worth it when the watch is way thicker and heavier. The non classic is so much easier on the wrist.
Well build is worth 100 more as classic is stainless steel instead of aluminium. My watch 4 got scratched on outside by accident on a granite table 2 weeks after I bought it
I have the GW 5 so then I buy the case for smart watch that's a real good rubber case and screen protector all in one they also have a water 💧 proof one it's works really GOOD 👍🏾 👌🏾 😁💯💯🏆
I just pre ordered Watch 6 because of the same reasons, I don't even use the rotating thingy on my GW4. I also changed my GW4 LTE model to just Bluetooth model coz I never used LTE on the watch. Hopefully it shows up soon
I pre ordered the classic 6, then I found out that the only difference between the classic and regular 6 was the rotaing bezel. And the 6 classic is twice the weight of the regular watch 6. I canceled the classic and ordered the regular 6. Saved 50 bucks!
yes and no, the bezel helps protect your screen and a ton of people (me included) like the tactile feeling of the bezel rotating function(and how well it works), i've known people that returned their normal samsung watch once they noticed how nice the functions of the rotating bezel were. either way, i'm not here to sell you on an a more expensive version. people new to these kind of watches already have so much stuff to explore, and will be happy either way. but i personally wouldn't have bothered with the samsung watches if it wasn't for the bezel, it really is the extra thing that won me over compared to the 6 smart watches i already have.
Thanks for the video as I’ve been waiting for the comparison. I’m cheap and so I ordered the 6. I’ll also throw on a case because I’ve smacked the 5 before where the aluminum meets the glass and it left a noticeable mark. Thanks again!
Watch 6 Classic is a total joke. If people are obsessed with the rotating bezzel then go and buy it. But in my opinion, it is a serious downgrade from last year's Watch 5 Pro. 5 Pro is the best Samsung watch right now - Titanium build, lighter weight and twice the battery capacity. These parameters are more useful than the 18% faster Watch 6 Classic with a physical rotating bezzel.
I really don't understand why they still did not add a botton to the rotating bezel , like make it enter botton , instead of tapping the screen to confirm
I was trying to decide between the Watch6 and 6 Classic and my deciding factor was the online sales person said the regular one doesn't have the 'Pay' feature. I wasn't able to find that detail anywhere.....my Classic comes tomorrow! We'll see how it goes!
I hope you enjoy your watch classic. Beautiful watch. Just so you know though, the rep lied to you. Pay is on both watches. It's even on my galaxy watch active 2.
Is the 47mm Silver model the polished stainless steel? I have the GW 4 Classic 46mm and was very surprised when I saw the 44mm Silver HW 4 Classic as it was shiny and beautiful like mirror chrome whereas my 46mm Classic 4 is more akin to brushed aluminum (even tho it is supposedly stainless steel). I did find out from other owners that all the 46mm ones are the brushed look for some reason, so I’m hoping Samsung went with shiny chrome on the large model this time! If not then probably will get the black model for variety, but if you can shed light on this it would be great!!! Thamks!
@@MikeOBrienMedia Thanks. I love Samsung but I cant deny the fact that Apple watch ultra's result are more accurate like in running. The distance and time of samsung is off.
I know the Classic it's beautiful and stylish, but... 44mm it's my wrist limit. I own a GW5 44mm and it reaches the limit between a good size and being too big. Sadly, I cannot choose the 47mm GW6 Classic, and I'm not gonna choose the 43mm due to the smaller battery than my actual Watch (410mAh on GW5 vs 300mAh on GW6C 43mm). Guess I'll have to stay with my actual watch for now.
I have a watch 3 classic, I was looking for an upgrade purposely skipped the 5 because the lack of the rotating bezel. Needless to say I never did up upgrading to anything else.
I have the Samsung galaxy watch 5 44mm with a full cap cover screen protector on it I buy from Amazon and and when you Is sweat it's still works good but I am going to buy the Samsung galaxy watch 6 47mm classic because I feel bigger is better now you knows that Samsung is coming out with a Samsung galaxy 7 watch ⌚️ 44mm 47mm to 50 mm this year 2024 I just hope is lighter like the GW 5 is and more Specs with the Rotating bezzle on it still and a more louder speaker 🔊 on it why iam saying this is when your Surrounded alot of ppls it's not that loud enough but when there's no ppls around its really good that's just my opinion
What about the fall detection? I was not able to get it working on my Watch4 or Watch5. Nor have I been able to test this function. How should this function be tested? I noticed that all pre-watch6 state "Hard Fall Detection" and the Watch6 states "Fall Detection". To me this implies that there is something different. Was it enhanced? Getting assistance from Samsung on this has been impossible for me.
Can someone please explain this change At 05:06 you can see the workout tile on watch 6 classic (black) - completely black with neon green circles. This is not available on the watch 6 classic (silver) - which has a more black and greyish tone to it. I see that watch ultra has now the neon green colouring in its tiles. How can I change the tile colours??
Soooooooo it actually sounds like you're getting less watch by even trading in the watch 5 pro for the watch 6 classic, cheaper body build stainless steel vs titanium, and a much smaller battery on the 6 classic vs the 5 pro...In my opinion I don't see it worth an upgrade from the 5pro to the 6 classic it'll be like buying the same damn watch twice...lol! Heck if you must upgrade...go back and get the watch 4 classic....don't be a Samsung sucker...lol!!
The ONLY reason to buy Classic is if you like its physical appearance. I found the rotating crown to be inferior to swipe gestures, which are much smoother and more intuitive. Personally, I find the Classic to be a bit tacky. It's trying to be classy, but doesn't really look the part. If it did actually look classy, I'd feel like a pretentious ass wearing it and would opt for the utilitarian design.
Bought the watch 40 wo the bezel. Kept cracking the screen protector. Bought a cover that created a 2mm edge around the watch which protected the screen protector from cracking. I'm more interested in battery life. If it doesn't last 2 full days with screen sheets on, all sensors running, and be able to make 30 minutes of phone calls, it is A No. I have to leave mine on battery savor most of the time, charge while in the shower. The other issue is Call quality. My watch gets warm while talking. Wish you could do Google meet or video calls. And how about the blood pressure, Samsung perfect what you have created instead of just repacking the same old stuff.
I actually got a classic 4 sent to me when i sent in my regular 4 to get repaired. They told me i can keep the better one if i wanted, told them no, i specifially didnt want the rotating bezel. Between working in a shop with small.metal shavings and having a kid, i dont trust the bezel to not break or get friction from stuff getting inside.
If i turn off the AOD on watch 6 classic 47, wifi, automatic google play update, and also turn off the sensors, and only use the nigth sleep tracking and bluetooth connection and messages, how many days can i extend the battery life?
Do you need a Samsung phone to use all of the features of the watch? For example, would all of the health tracking features be available on a pixel phone?
Love your content! Now, I bought the galaxy watch 4 classic because of the rotating bezel and the fact that it looks like a real watch. They obviously made a mistake with the 5, now fixing it on the 6, which I might add looks exactly like the gw4 classic! 😂
I know it look's pretty much the same. Still using my GW4 Classic and I don't really see the need to upgrade tbh, other than background ECG and slightly better sleep tracking, I don;t think much has changed. Sure it probably run's slightly smoother but imo not much difference other than that. I got my GW4 classic a few months back for US$160 as I wanted the bezel and the GW5 Pro is just ugly and too thick IMO.
Got watch 4 classic The bezel saved my watch from damages hundreds of times. I also put a screen protector on it and forgot about it. Whatever heavy duty jobs I do, nothing can harm my watch.
I have the 40mm Galaxy Active 2 and haven't found the digital bezel a problem, the majority of the screen is visible when I'm rotating round the options. I prefer a discreet watch so the GW6 40mm would be my preference. It would be good to be able to print out a template to get a feel for the size. I am most interested in are battery life and water resistance. My Active 2 can comfortably last 48 hours, GW5 users seem to struggle with 24 hours and that's with Samsung's recommendations to constraining many of the features to save power. The GW6 has a bigger battery but does that translate into a much improved run time? How will the 300 mAh and 425 mAh compare? My Active 2 charges pretty quickly and there's generally an inactive point in the day when I can put it on charge for an hour. Maybe battery life shouldn't be a big concern. The forums and channels raise a lot of issues with watches failing due to water ingress. I did see a Samsung response which indicated that they can be immersed in water but there shouldn't be any vigorous movement. So not suited to swimming? I've not risked my Active 2 in the pool, I'd love a watch that could track my swimming.
I have the same watch as you and I have swum with it in pools and it works just fine, you need to put it on water mode (not sure if that's what its called) and when you get out turn it off and the sound will get the water out. I am assuming that it's the same for the newer version. I have also been in waterslides and after it works like normal
@@LauraO4 The water lock seems to be a help, especially as it will blow droplets of water out. I was just being overly careful given quite a few people had posted issues after swimming, but then many more had reported no issues. I was planning to give my Active 2 a try given it wouldn't be expensive to replace. Today, I have just received a Watch6, I thought I would give it a try given there is a free return option. I have only been using it for a few hours and what was immediately obvious is how much bigger the visible display is despite the case being a very similar size. I have the 40mm Active 2 and now the 40mm Watch6. I don't like big watches and a smallish wrist so this seemed the best choice. So far it is perfect, I will see how it performs and how long the battery lasts. I've reasoned it probably won't last as long as the Active 2 but for most situations I can take it off and fast charge it quickly.
I've been avoiding these watches mainly because Samsung is lacking when it comes to getting permissions for the sensors in Canada. If half the sensors don't work I just don't see a point in buying it.
