In this video I want to show you how I capture Deep Sky Objects, like nebulas and galaxys. It's the most complicated part of astrophotography and you need to prepare your telescope before you can image distant stars. In the end of the video you can see some Deep Sky Objects I captured, like the Orion Nebula and the Dumbbell Nebula. Hope you enjoy!

@@etrieusvet2070 light travels at a speed of 186,000 miles per second. These galaxies distances from Earth are measured in lightyears. So if a star or galaxy's light has traveled thousands or millions of lightyears to reach our vision that means what we are seeing are images from thousands or millions of years ago. That star or galaxy might not even be there anymore the moment their light hits our eyes.

Same! There was a time where the sky was filled with stars and different colors red and blue which is something I’ve never witnessed before in my life because I’ve always lived in the city (Kuwait)but when I visit my home country (Lebanon) my house is in the country side filled with nature so at night precisely around 1 am the stars become so clear and bright I remember i looked up and started crying a bit it was truly beautiful I even took a picture through my phone but only little red stars show the rest of the stars don’t show but regardless it was truly an unforgettable moment for someone like me who also like astronomy 😩 (sorry about my rant)

When you look out beyond our solar system into interstellar space, you can begin to truly realize the enormity of space. The distance between us and the closest star Proxima Centauri B, 4 light years, is nothing on the cosmic scale. It's inconceivable for humans to ever leave our solar system, but there are billions of worlds to discover out there. Thinking about all of this makes me have an existential crisis.

This is eye opening for me. I was always told you'd need an observatory grade telescope to view galaxies with such detail. I was under the impression anything store bought would produce nothing but colorless smudges in the sky. These photos show it may be worth investing in this equipment.

The limit of what we can see is not based on distance, it's based on apparent size. Telescopes can see objects millions of miles away so long as the object is large enough to have a apparent diameter larger than the limiting resolution of the telescope. Just like how we can see a skyscraper from 5 miles away, but not a pigeon on top of said skyscraper. The skyscaper, although it is miles away, is large enough to have an apparent size greater than that of our eye's minimum resolution, so we can see it. The pigeon on the other hand is not visible, because it's too small to have an apparent size large enough to be seen by our eyes from that distance. Hope this makes sense.

I’m very certain there’s life out there but the chances of intelligent life is ridiculously tiny. life on Earth dates back 3.5billion years ago. Humans have been on this planet for bout 200,000 years 3,500,000,000/200,000=17500 meaning that humans have been on this planet for 1/17500 of how long other organisms have. It’s not a problem for life being out there but more for the chances of intelligent life

Lol ur definitely lying. All astronomers seem to have this big secret called SOFTWARE that they manually have to layer colors, extra stars, sharpness etc in order to produce the images as shown in this video. They really need to start disclosing exactly how this is done because u ball fanatics seem to believe they can see the final image when they look through it and that is no where near true. Learn to exercise your common sense. Taking an image and changing it completely from what u see is photoshoping it plain and simple.

Hi!, Are you using skywatcher's coma corrector.... I just started attaching a DSLR to my 8" quattro and can't fully focus targets. I saw someone using and extra short extension to the focuser tube by removing the 2" ring and putting it after this extension.... i was thinking to avoid this just need to get the "coma corrector" ....thanks

Asher Ali when looking through a telescope, it will only look like a gray smudge. Our eyes are sensitive enough to detect color from object that far away and dim. To get color, you need to take long exposure photos.

I see some people in the comments are confusing _light years_ with *years* . _Light year_ is a measure for distance - the distance light travels in a year. *Year* is a measure for time. So when you're looking at galaxy that's, for example 23 million _light years_ away, you're seeing it as it was 23 million *years* ago not _light years_ . I'm not trying to be a smartass, just clarifying some things :)

Comments saying "it's impossible for telescopes to see that far ". The whirlpool galaxy is approximately 85,999.91326 light years in diameter. That is absolutely gargantuan and so it may be extremely far away but due to its massive size it can be seen from Earth.

Exactly. The Whirlpool Galaxy is more or less perpindicular to our viewing plane. The ratio of the distance from Earth to the Whirlpool compared to the diameter of the Whirlpool is roughly 270/1. That's like seeing a person 2 meters tall at a distance of 340 meters with this telescope. Pretty feasible.

It's ridiculous the claims about how big these objects are. The numbers are all wrong and these stars aren't nearly as far. Case point, we can see the largest crater on the moon with the naked eye, we're taught this crater is 50miles diameter and the moon some 240k miles away. Now find something 50 miles wide on Google earth and zoom out it disappears was before 100 miles let alone 240k miles. These distances and sizes are made up. The stars are much much closer and smaller.

GeekZone CZ he's using the "Stack Image" technique to get a perfect and high quality images. The first image he took was a bad quality, he stacked and made it this. CGI would be totally completely different.

No, you will not see that detail seen in those photos. For galaxies you will see for little, if not the galaxy itself. Nebula's will appear black and white and dimmer
