And now a tribute to that insane raving maniac of a Decepticon leader, Galvatron. Megatron was a perpetual loser, however Galvatron was a perpetual loser with unlimited entertainment value.
Cartoon Megatron: Evil and intelligent, albeit a bit cowardly Movie Megatron: Evil and intelligent, this time with no downsides Movie Galvatron: A truly unbeatable menace who was only matched because a prophecy came true Cartoon Galvatron: 𝓒𝓻𝓪𝓬𝓴 𝓒𝓸𝓬𝓪𝓲𝓷𝓮
Galvatron hates Cyclonus because deep down he believes he only deserves a treacherous second in command like Starscream and seeks to recreate the toxic relationship he had with him.
@@wepruitt3I believe cyclonys would have reached his breaking point had the series continued Maybe screamer was loyal.once upon a time until he got tired of megayrins abuse I do believe second in command in decepticon politics means punching bag
Cyclonus had basically two interchangeable voices throughout Season 3. He had the voice you hear most of the time here, and he also had a very deep growly voice. Both were occasionally heard in the same episode. In Starscream's Ghost, he used the deep growl just before they attack Octane, and then back to his more famliiar voice. Same with Webworld. While in The Quintesson Journal he only used the deep voice. Same actor, just two different voices. :)
@@usamazahid3882 It's worth pointing out as well Galvatron has tech advantage being upgraded by Unicron and a more viable secondary transformation (gigantic cannon over a pistol) but Megatron comes up with a lot more plots over brute force
@@TheKnightOfSmite Megatron relied on brute force, but he was smarter than your average "beatdown" leader, he helped building weapons, tried ways to disable the autobots to have an easier time overpowering them, had some sense of resource management, and so on. Whereas Megatron merely preferred simple and direct approaches but nonetheless using fairly good concepts in his planning, Galvatron was a barbarian who merely flipped out most of the time.
Zarak never followed him,he just went with it. He's pretty competent and sadly,we never see his character flourish after the Rebirth because cancelled.
When Galvatron talks to you calmly, that's a sign he's giving you an incredibly short head start. That's your cue to start fucking running to the next galaxy...if you can
"Mighty Galvatron, where are you going?" "To the signal. To be a winner! Because I believe in me!" Even in his madness he still has faith in himself... that can't be good.
@Aaron Boone Poor nothing. He stole the Matrix and tried to take over the Decepticons. If you wanna act like Starscream, you get treated like Starscream.
It was the dip he took into the plasma baths that fried his processor and left him mentally unbalanced. By the end of Web World, most of his insanity was transferred to the planet that tried to eat him, and then fully cured when Prime opened the Matrix at the end of TROOP, he was much calmer and even ended the fighting for a while until the Rebirth.
Megatron was psycho to there was hints he was insane all these insane plots, power hungry didn't care what happened to others as long as he got what he wanted Yes megatron was a egomaniac
@@bbandthesvyes, he was somewhat cured when he was connected to the planet torculon and i believe fully cured after cured of the madness plague by the wisdom of the ages from the matrix.
@@ValiantWrestling adding to your comment, he was a lot more sane in the headmasters season, he even managed to fully defeat the autobots forces on cybertron, lending credit to the idea that the matrix effectively cured him of his madness and he made a full recovered, he was back to how capable he was in the movie.
He probably did. I wonder how he'll react to finding out about a character named advanced Frank Welker, whom is in the game Five Nights In The Auto-Con Factory.
@@jvbutalid8316 Only in the movie. Frank Welker took over his voice after that. Same goes for many other voices. For example, Orson Welles voiced Unicron in the movie, but not in the series afterwards.
Mainly just more personality. Movie verse megatron had personality, especially when you knew his backstory and noticed the small details of his behavior but then when he returned as galvatron he was just so lacking of anything he was given to make him an actual character before that he was no longer interesting.
ktapreswreck d921v in the series yes. In the original movie (1984 he was played by Leonard Nimoy, then was played by Frank Welker again in age of extinction.
Megatron was an intelligent leader who repeatedly lost - because of Starscream not following his instructions. Somewhere between 1986 and 2005, Megatron conquered Cybertron. In Transformers The Movie, we saw Galvatron with Megatron's mind also was an amazing leader. If it wasn't for the Matrix being opened, the Decepticons would have won. It's a shame the plasma bath did that to the mind of Galvatron/Megatron.
@Starscream91 When I said, "The Decepticons would have won," I was referring to Unicron and the remaining Decepticons. The Decepticons may have been "enslaved" to Unicron, but the Decepticons would have "won" as a result of simply surviving. In comparison, the Autobots would not have been "enslaved." The Autobots would have been "killed." Cybertron definitely would not have been "devoured" by Unicron. Remember, Unicron transformed into a robot at that point. Unicron did not have the goal of "devouring" Cybertron at that point. Unicron was simply angry with Galvatron for attempting to open the Matrix. Unicron specifically said, "For a time, I considered sparing your wretched planet Cyberton. But now, you shall witness its dismemberment." Unicron had already eaten the two Autobot Moom Bases. Earth would have been eaten. The Autobots would have been the true losers here.
Every time that guy spoke in the show he was spewing a memmorable quote. Also to those guys who prefered the movies voice over his season 3, remember that he was batshit insane in all honesty nobody could voice that insanity better than Welker.
Guys I’m not taking Prozac anymore I changed my meds. i went to my quintesson psychiatrist and now I’m taking Xanax 3 mg and Klonopin 0.5 mg. Doesn’t do that much, but it helps me get through the day.
Galvatron "It's a miracle we finally got this flying junk pile of yours stabilized". Decepticon "You were the idiot who opened the plasma energy chamber Galvatron". Galvatron "SILENCE!!!!!" 😂😂
"So Scourge is helping Starscream voluntarily; and you four were unable to stop them? Well, all I can say is...." *Goes crazy* LMAO, classic Galvatron. Loves it. :)
So....scourge is helping star scream voluntarily, then you allowed them to use astrotrain as their escape vehicle and you four wasn't able to stop them....well all I got to say is .....AAAAAAAAAAAGH! ....(Galvatron fires his cannon at them) Lmao!
@@Leadblast thats why the cons list the war they were a bunch of idiots and stayed fighting each other if not kept in line Galvatron was a looney but he kept the cons in line
That's why i loved Galvatron so much, he was so much scarier than Megatron because you never knew who would piss him off just by looking at him funny. Just like the Joker, he would kill one of his henchmen just because it would make him laugh.
+smegel limes maybe that's why screamer started trying to overthrow megs he might have been loyal at first but got tired of taking the blame and getting beat maybe if the series progressed cyclonus might have would have betrayed Galvatron how much abuse can you take
He probably was an ambitious snake by nature.Although, his IDW incarnation stated that he respected Megatron until he realized that what he felt wasn't respect,it was actually fear.
I still laugh about the part when Unicron restores Starscream in return for that one last favour, and as soon as he gets what he wants he just drops what he's doing and tells Unicron "do it yourself"
It has some of the best animation as well. Call of the Primatives Dweller in the depths Web World. My top 3 animated episode in season three, with Call having the best animation during the entire western G1 run.
Virtual Wrestling Entertainment Yeah that is something I couldn't figure out....some of season 3 had fantastic animation like in the eps you mentioned...but then...it had some REAL clunkers. I am not sure they got a boost of cash for some eps or not. I think some of the stories in season 3 were really well done as well along with some big stinkers. The problem with season 3 though was that the writers had ripped the heart out of Transformers with the movie killing off so MANY established characters that kids no longer had foundation characters to still reference in S3. I think moving it off Earth so much also didn't help.
well it did have legendary comics writer Len Wein and legendary Star Trek novel writer Diane Duane (who drew upon previous experience as a nurse in a psychiatric hospital), so yeah, OF COURSE it was good. :D
At the time Hasbro, Marvel and Sunbow took a huge loss after the My little pony and transformers movie bombed at the box office, in order to save the GI Joe movie they made it into a minisseries and released it direct to video, as a result many of Season 3's episodes had to be made at AKOM's, with the occasional Toei episode, thankfully the writing saves most of the episodes.
@@K.C.-Games I can't imagine Nimoy doing the crazy galvatron voice. Sane Galvatron yes, but insane with all of those laughs? I can't see Nimoy doing that.
megatron ate shit from starscream constantly, occasionally giving him a beat down when he crosses the line, but is generally nice to his loyal servants. galvatron literally just beats the crap out of his loyal servants while they beg him to stop lol, such a drastic change in sanity.
@@GameTavern2224 Megatron was more rational because he was more of a no B.S. type of decepticon. He tried to maintain order while Galvatron would just shoot his own men for almost no reason.
AGREED. Webworld was one of my favorites. Very little Autobot presence in the beginning. However mostly Galvatron and the Decepticons handling their affairs. A great change of pace. I don't think there was an episode like it honestly. :)
i think Megatron has gone mad over the years, cyclonus was the most loyal decepticon ever not only taking the abuse of Galvatron but the shots from him too
Peri clod it was the result of being dipped in plasma. It ended up seeping into his head and caused him to become more irrational and completely insane.
Galvatron was completely nuts, but Cyclonus' idiocy was unparalelled. How or why does he always choose to put up with his psychotic master and serve him regardless, we have no idea.
When Cyclonus was created from Skywarp he was reformatted. That reformatting would have made his personality entirely subservient to Galvatron. The Galvatron and Cyclonus relationship is an inverse of the Megatron and Starscream relationship
@@antiseize11 Zarak in The Headmasters show proved to be more cunning than the unstable Galvs, to the point that the former can out-Starscream Starscream himself sans annoying personality.
lol, and I loved that episode where the animators forgot to put him in his throne when he was actually talking. (So depressed he couldn't bother to show up)
I was so happy at the end of The Return of Optimus Prime when it seemed like the Matrix restored Galvatron to the way he was so he had the same sane personality as he did in Transformers the Movie. ... Rebirth was so disappointing when I saw Galvatron was still insane. .. But, without disloyal Starscream to mess things up, I suppose Galvatron's insanity is the only thing that saves the Autobots. Transformers The Movie showed a sane Galvatron easily defeats the Autobots.
I like how, even completely and fucking insane and off his rocker, Galvatron is very much aware of how shit Sweeps are as soldiers, and just laughs at Cyclonus when he's like "The Sweeps and I shall be your Elite Guard!"
Lol which Sweeps? The movie incarnation that were menacing and did their job better than before? Or the S3 sweeps that like Galvatron were neutered for plot purposes?
Believe it or not, Galvatron was originally conceived as a character separate from Megatron. He was to play the role of Decepticon City Commander, just as Ultra Magnus was Autobot City Commander. This was evident in the Japanese OVA Scramble City: Mobilization, which was made as an ad hoc continuity patch-up job as the movie wouldn't be released in Japan until 1989 (continuity patch-ups and errors persisted into Headmasters and Victory).
Looking back, I realize… I’ve been too harsh. I still don’t know that I’d call it good, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t fun. I think I’ll try to maintain a more open mind.
First, you two let Scourge and Starscream steal one of Trypticons' eyes. And then you two allowed Astrotrain to be used as their escape vehicle. So Scourge is helping Starscream voluntarily, and you four were unable to stop them. Well, all I can say is... RAAAAAGGGHHHHG!!!!!!
"Mighty Galvatron! I have learned your lesson. I now know not only that you are the leader, but also why." And why is that, Scourge? Because he shot you? That's not really the sign of a good leader...
The G1 Comics (particularly the ones by Simon Furman) really play up the fact that Galvatron is a) Literally Unstoppable and Unbeatable, and b) *COMPLETELY* Insane In those tales though, it’s not so much the fact of him having been found face down, lying in (effectively) a pool of molten lava that damaged his brain, turning him into a complete, delusional lunatic as it is the fact of his defeat at the hands of Rodimus Prime (and perhaps, his own failure to master or access it’s power), and the humiliation of suffering that defeat that caused him to suffer a complete psychotic break - in short, driving him completely ga-ga. Which is really saying something, and must provide you with some idea of just the gargantuan scale of his Ego and Prideful Self-Image, when you remember that it was a defeat which *no-one saw...*
