Hope she got one of the supers too from the powers she stole from opponents. Rogue's raging demon would be hype if she did it. EDIT: I search it up and indeed Rogue has the raging demon if you stole akuma's power.
This game means.... so much for me. The ps1 version was my first fighting game EVER, I still remember spending weeks trying to beat Apocalypse with every character in the roster. If it wasn't for this game, I wouldn't be the fighting game fan I am today Thanks Max, you got me to feel emotional. Shine on
Man I miss the glory days of 90's fighters. Sabertooth was my favorite villain. Such a badass. And I didn't even now why I liked making Rogue kiss Cammy at the time, but that was super neat.
Even at 8yrs old when this came out, I was a huge fan of both franchises. I still remember seeing the title screen for the first time at the arcade. Seeing Ryu and cyclops shaking hands was straight up mind blowing to me
romann921 Don't ever suggest slapping a requested character over another character as an alternate costume ever again, either put the character in the game as a full fledged character or don't bother at all, I'm still pissed off at Capcom for giving Ameterasu that Jon Talbain alternate costume in UMVC3.
I often see people complaining about Carol Danvers, saying she's not iconic or not worthy, exposing themselves of not really appreciating Marvel's legacy. Yes, Infinite has issues, but Captain Marvel being in it isn't one. She's a long overdue omission. MvC should be about celebrating both companies' legacies, which I've come to realise, and Infinite falls short there, but Carol's a big plus as someone who's been a almost lifelong fan of Marvel Comics.
I remember when someone told me there was a game called X-men vs Street Fighter in Japan. I though it was complete bullshit until I actually faced the game in arcade. I didn't know any of the X-Men character outside of Children of Atom game, but it was glorious to see these crazy characters in action. I was really shocked to find out that Rogue can actually steal special moves from other fighters. It was mind blowing experience.
Soer Poet because Capcom was trying to justify not putting the X-men in MVCI so they said people don't like the characters they like their mechanics and functions. "People don't like Magneto they like his wave dash, and Nova has that!"
...reading that statement gave me physical pain and sadly Capcom's been like this ever since RE5, as if they're not satisfied if they didn't shot themselves in the foot until the entire toes shredded from their feet. Some occasional bumps like RE7 and Monster Hunter are fine, but the rest...well...
The best part about this game is the sound, it's so fucking crisp, the Saturn version even had an unlockable Dynamic Audio mode that made the sound even better. Only this game has quality like it.
They should have given the Rogue gimmick to Megaman X in Infinite, but instead of a kiss he just places his hand on an opponent and takes one of the moves. It would make total sense with Megaman getting new powers in his own games.
Bunny Rabbit Yeah great idea let's give a move that someone else used in the past to another character to make up for the fact they aren't in the game, Combofiend would be creaming his pants at the idea.
MoonlightStrider it is a great idea, especially since it's not the same exact attack (the kissing) and no one else currently has a comparable ability as far as I know. That just seems like a lot of butthurt speaking. If one similar move that makes total sense is such a bad thing then by that logic any character with a similar fireball type move as each other (speaking in terms of all fighting games, not just in Infinite) or past characters should piss people off too. Why wasn't there an uproar for Morrigan's downward fireball when Akuma already had it, all the similar dragon punches from dozens of characters with a slightly different animation, all characters with a beam super etc etc. If you look past the stupid function nonsense and think about my previous comment purely as a suggestion at making the current game more fun then there'd be no issue.
This game has a special place in my heart. When my grandma would grocery shop in super 1 I'd ask for quarters and they had this machine. I'd play it for a long time when she shopped and I loved the x-men as a kid and this was just amazing to me back in the day to think this could be a game.
Still have my Saturn copy of this game, Saturn is still hooked up to my TV because that console was a 2-D fighting game beast and to this day I still love it.
@pc Juggalo Well, if that is your argument then PS4 is the better choice. Why else would Capcom put Street Fighter V on the PS4 and not Xbox One? Why else would SNK put KOF XIV on the PS4 and not Xbox One?
Max, I just want to say that you and everyone at Yo!Vidoegames makes me genuinely want to get better at fighting games. You've given me so much inspiration to get better every time I pick up my arcade stick, which I also bought because of watching your channel!
The cabinet for this was sitting next to Primal Rage at my local skating rink as a kid. I miss games coming out of the blue and just blowing your mind.
This game will forever be an important part of my childhood.I once played this game in the arcade before playing the ps1 version, and the rest was history.Seriously, this game needs to be available for digital download.
I would totally throw all my money if they released a Marvel Vs collection similar to the Street Fighter collection. All with online mode. Hell even if Infinite is in it, I'll buy it.
Rogue was the most fun character in this game. Stealing your opponents' special moves is a mechanic that's impossible to balance around (probably why we don't see it that often in fighting games), but can make for some crazy moments!
I'm so glad they were able to get Lenore Zann to reprise her role as Rogue from the 90s cartoon. She is my _favorite_ voice actress for the character! *Edit:* 09:00 - Yo, hang on! Cammy, what are you doin' here? You died in Stage 2! A… and, so did your daddy, Dictator, but there he is at 13:50. God damn, this game…
I remember playing this as a kid in the arcade, I would legitimately go around NYC looking for quarters along the ground and play this game for *hours*.
This got me thinking: With no X-Men in the base roster and a surprising lack of Street Fighter characters, there's a decent chance Capcom may be gearing up for an X-Men vs. Street Fighter character pack for MvCI somewhere down the line.
There is a huge chance that marvel will be going for it. The mobile marvel games as well as marvel heroes have x-men characters added recently so i fell marvel warming up to the idea of having x-men characters in more games.
It was always hilarious when u beat that 1st character n the way they look hitting the ground bouncing off screen lol. Need to put that back in the game.
Still my favorite VS series game. I love this game so much. I remember seeing it at the mall back in '96 and my 10 year old mind being completely blown away. It instantly became my favorite fighting game. I became obsessed with it, i even got the action figures. This was the first fighter i got really serious about being good at. It was also the first game i ever imported and brought a system for specifically. (I got a saturn and this game along with a RAM cart after i found out the PS1 version was garbage)....ahh the memories.
KAY OH! Yeah. This and MVC 2... were my childhood. My only goal in life was acquiring quarters and playing this as well. God, Max. Are we that old? Gambit and Rogue. Always my team. Sometimes I'd switch out Rogue for Akuma... but not often.
The 2 arcade games that truly rattled me when i walked into the arcade expecting to play my normal fighters... Xmen vs street fighter and Killer Instinct. I was shook on both. Thinking about them all day for weeks.
X-men vs. Street Fighter and X-men Children of the Atom changed my life. And I'm not even being dramatic. It made me believe in fighting games. With XvSF specifically, seeing Rogue, Gambit, and Apocalypse specifically blew my mind the first time I saw them.
I was blown away when I saw this game at the local Walmart, I was blown away. A lot of teenagers were playing it and you had to wait for a long ass time to get your turn.
Fun fact: gambits royal flush can also hit if you are exactly above gambit when he activates it, he tosses hes stick up and that throws you directly infront of him
