Definitely up there - very very underrated band - Otway and Barrett were up there as live entertainers back in the day too - saw them in London Drury Lane - only concert I’ve been to where 5he audience refused to leave at the end after three encores and lowering the fire curtain - in the end Otway came out and said thanks for your support but ffs go home - got a huge round of applause then we all left but best live band was the Who for sure
my dear late brother Jeff loved him, and we played this at his funeral as we left the cremitorium it was so fitting... Really a Sensational group. Thanks Alex for the music.
Magical. That's performance art at its musical best. What great minds they had and big Zal should definitely get an Oscar for all his acting parts on stage. Facial expressions speak better than words.
@@stargazer6675 yeah, I agree , nothing pretentious with Alex , what you see was what you got , he loved the theatrical side of performing. Pure Genius ☘️
Being a fellow Glaswegian I believe I have a duty to spread the wonder of Alex to those that haven’t heard of him. I done a bit when I lived in Birmingham and now I’m down south in Bristol, unfortunately my son was born here but he will be taught about his heritage, hard one though, his mother is Jamaican & a lot younger, his musical influence is gonna be wide & varied, 🏴🇯🇲, that’ll do it 😎
went to Stoke city football ground in 1975 to see Yes and SAHB were on the bill they whipped up the crowd so much Yes never stood a chance most of the crowd were chanting "bring back Alex" while Yes were playing
Best band ever, was lucky to see them a good few times in the 70's. Fast forward to 2019, I caught Zals Sin Dogs a few weeks ago, they were fucking awesome, a force of nature, ZAL you are a rock God!! Catch them while you still can..
Extremely popular in the Cleveland area first song I heard from S.A.H.B was Gang Band from my dealer friend with the killer Marantz Stereo system and speakers,it got cranked I know that boy I miss being 19 years old 😎✌️♥️🎸🌈🍺🍻
that period between about 72 and 76 there was some unique music and some great bands , but it is a bit forgoten in music history because everone was doing their own thing rather than taking part in some movement, like progressive, psychedelic, punk(all seem to start with P) etc in OZ we had the coloured balls, skyhooks, AC/DC....in the UK there were such bands as SAHB, stackridge, Dr Feelgood ...just unique bands, an interesting period
@@nondescripthandle212 I've been a fan since the 70's. and of all things glam too. That's why I don't believe they are glam. and in fact, I've never heard them referred to as glam other than here. I also know that their hard core army of fans in the 70's were rockers, definitely not glam fans
I remember seeing this when it was first broadcast - it made me laugh because I thought the kids there wouldn't have a clue - theyw ould all have been going "What the F**K is this?!" lol I loved it and went out and bought the single
interesting thing about this is if it was labelled as some experiemental art theatre group most folk would dismiss it as poncey middle class pretention...but because its from a band with a wild and tough image as rock n roll Glasgow lads...its loved. Just shows you what labels do.
Had a few drinks with Zal in the Clutha bar and the Scotia bar in Glasgow a few years ago. Chris Glen, Ted Mckenna & Alex Harvey Jnr were there also. great night!!
think what could've come out of this genius brains if he had not gone looking somewhere else in some other time or place or dimension or whatever ........died way to soon in '82. but what masterpieces they created in the short period they had !!!!!!!!!!greetz ya all Lars Rob dit is geschreven op n pc van peter! *
Ovaj slager bi mogao da slusam ceo dan. Pokrece me, nekad sam ga pevusio dok sam pravio kristijane na skijanju. Ima "smekerski" ritam.Pokoj ti duse Alex.
Who are these bloody people that give a thumbs down,if ya don't like it can't you just leave it as that, anyway you are dead now and you were definitely,a performer, you probably were not the nicest geezer to meet on the street, but you were definately a performer.
Yes, unfortunately they plays no longer. In fact here in Italy no one knows and its difficult find some album or cd in music shop. I dont know nothin about they career and i would like know about it or they life. I casually discovered sahb this year, i cant understand how they're little know a band with artists so good. Greetings from Venezia Italy
@@danielenegroarrotino Hello! I just discovered this wonderful band this year. There's much information about SAHB on in social media. Facebook page for Friends of SAHB and also there are Documentaries here on RU-vid plus you may listen to all of their music.
I hadn't seen this one before! Thanks so much for posting. SAHB never took themselves too seriously, and were never scared to try something different. Fantastic band, brilliant entertainers.
One of the few bands that I never had the chance to see that I felt bummed out about not being able to What talented musicians And, Alex - he really was SENSATIONAL
Fortunate enough to have witnessed Alex & SAHB in Doncaster 1981 Alex enthralled, entertained, menaced & entranced the crowd. Brilliant show by Sensational Showmen. Every fan remembers when & where they were when sadened by his passing. ¿Did Captain Sensible & 'The Damned' secretly learn from Alex?¿
