In the Japanese one, I think they announced a physical bundle that comes with a mouse that we're not getting. EDIT: I was wrong. This bundle includes reference cards, not a mouse. Sorry for the misinformation.

Programming is super complex. There is so much happening in games that we don't think about. Like when you do something as simple as speak with a character you have to have an interaction prompt, load the correct dialogue, maybe move the camera closer to see the character better or pop up a character portrait to show their face, then you have to have a way to let players progress the dialogue, maybe throw in extra options for players to select, and then responses for each selection.... and this is all just for talking to a NPC. Now imagine there are 3 NPCs and you need a way to go between them. Do you just move a cursor or a selection arrow? Does your character exist in the screen and you move them nearby to the target?

It is complex, but since this is block-formed you’ll get used to it quickly and when I’m used to it I’m making “WARIO DIES IN THE VIETNAM WAR: THE GAME”

Bruh don't buy this its essentially a $60 version of scratch....and scratch has more options and so much games on there!

I think it looks harder than it is. I learned to program with RPG Makers, Game Maker and right now I try to figure out the Unity Engine. It's like everything else. "Figure out how it works." I'm trying to keep my expectations tempered only to what we've seen in the trailers. Based off what we've seen your idea sounds feasible, the only limit I can think of is maybe needing to make each level its own separate game if there's some sort of size limit.

I'm very cautiously optimistic; if this is anything like WarioWare DIY (which was awesome), there will be pretty heavy limitations. Still, this could end up being great for a first crack at your concept, or (as Wreckscalibur said) at least designing individual levels.

@@Srcsqwrn I have used several real game engines before, they are really fun to dive into. If you need a reccomendation for a real gamedev engine, might I suggest unity?

Plus real engines like Unreal Engine 4 have options similar to this, (Unity and Godot I think are also implementing them which is good) so as you learn the basic concepts here you can transition into a more serious and powerful engine it's a really great tool for kids and beginners I think
