You are absolutely right... it's super useful to separate the data and logic! Also... love the Guts figurine in the background lol... Griffith did nothing wrong!

Interesting tool, I would love to hear more on the moddable data systems in Godot. like that of dwarf fortress or RimWorld.

video très interessante. Merci pour le partage. Je ne connaissais pas l'approche DDA. Toutefois, j'en ai une approche similaire mais pas aussi poussée, car en général, dans mes projets, j'essaye de regouper les données et/ou les paramètres dans des entités hors de la logique, en général dans des fichiers de conf, des classes ou des structures utilitaires J'avais beaucoup aimé les vidéos sur ECS, bien que pas faciles à implémenter sur la base de ce que tu avais décris. Un tuto en bonne et due forme serait un vrai bonheur

Resources? Text-based, still extendable, displayed in Godot inspector, can run validations, etc...

I've been using Custom Resource more and more in my little prototypes (See the whole series on Procedural Planets). Though JSON is still attractive since it's compatible with many other technologies. I'm still undecided if I would go with JSON or Resources for my next project.

@@Ombarus For me, the most appealing part of Resources is that it can hold vector data so I don't have to create another object notation in JSON only to store x and y and deserialize it when I read the data.

I tend to use custom resources for user data, and I think weapon configuration (I'm making an FPS) should also be a custom resource. I am not sure how it will work performance-wise, as I'll need all the logic for all weapons in one script and have the data decide what parts of that functionality to use - lots of branches in the code.

@@TheMaitreC Malheureusement je ne pense pas avoir déjà pris le temps de tout expliquer en détail. Mais pour faire une histoire courte ma femme est Japonaise alors on a décidé de s'installer au Japon :).
