I already bought the pdf the moment it was announced on DriveThru. As a long time RTal Cyberpunk player, I was pleasantly amazed at the amount of stuff it delivers. In fact, doing a game out on the colonies can bring to mind the film Outland (w/Sean Connery) very easily.

Something else occurred to me. The Simulacrum are actually referencing the Replicants from Blade Runner.

Given the modularity of SW, I am tempted to get this if only to combine it with the Fantasy Companion and have Shadowrun.

One of my best friends helped put this out... I know they're proud of what's in it. It's nice to hear good things about something one of my buddies was able to help build. No, this is not e-Peen waving, this is being happy for my friend.

Toolkitty! I now have a cyberpunk character concept: augmented catgirl mechanic. Thanks, Kurt!

Really fun review, Kurt! I'll take another look at this book. My first pass at the setting book didn't give me the same impression. Seems this is an update?

Hey! Interface Zero has a kickstarter for a Fate Core version! Go on Kickstarter to support it before it closes in a few days.

The only significant release error was no timeline - it's rectified, it's downloadable. Version 3.0 is on the horizon. And gee did I have to plow through the setting / world material - not just good for the usual Americana snapshot - most of the world is seriously detailed, so much so, for my sanity I had to jump forward to America and pay attention - its not America as you know, its division has very shadowrun / pc original deus ex feel to it.

1:10 Ahh, the infamous sociopath goblin in RPG games. I have two friends that bring that little bugger when making characters :/

Weren't we promised a dance? How does this stack up to Shadowrun in your opinion? Ever thought about making your own game and what would you use? A percentile dice, or die type etc?

Does it avoid the problem of the game coming to a grinding halt while one player hacks and the rest of the players twiddle their thumbs?
@Barl3000
@Barl3000 10 лет назад
Yes, while the game does offer the old-school VR type hacking and gameplay, the main focus is on Augmented Reality hacking. The idea is that in IZ 2.0 the entire world has been immersed in AR and people can see it ( and do some limited manipulation) via an implant everyone has (it is a Hindrance not to have it). The result is that almost every electronic object in the game can be hacked from guns, doors, turrets, cameras to even NPCs with the aforementioned implant. So the hacker will need to be with the group and can use his hacking in combat to jam guns and take control of turrets and the like.
@prof.yurivaldesalvarezarza3998
Hacking only takes a declared action to intrude an object,vehicle or person, a target number(4+) and a d10 dice roll.Simple.

how does this stack up vs. the 1.0 rules? I've got those and am reluctant to purchase them all over again.
@2011manbeast
@2011manbeast 10 лет назад
2.0 replaces most of the 1.0 rules. Hacking, and cybernetics have been completely revised. There are drone rules, gollemmech rules, better rules for street cred. lot's of good stuff. :)

Unlike Kurt I LOVE cyberpunk. Really liked the first iteration of IZ & can't wait for this to come out as a hardcopy.

I love cyberpunk, but my problem is that my players have a hard time thinking like criminals. So I have to, from time to time, have them watch a film or two like Pulp Fiction, or Reservoir Dogs, or Breaking Bad or something in order to get them into a mood that helps them break out of the "law-abiding" mindset.
@2011manbeast
@2011manbeast 10 лет назад
If your group has a hard time thinking like criminal, I suggest you do something a bit different. Interface Zero has a Sector Sop archetype, and an Agent archetype you can use to play games where the characters are in law enforcement, or even spies. You could totally do something like Ghost In the Shell, or even Almost Human, with this game.

***** I've offered that, but they like the relative liberty of being "runners." And I can understand that. The rewards you get on your own merits is part of the appeal of games (not to mention D&D, where treasures are involved). What I've managed to do is boost their confidence. We've played under some pretty ruthless GMs, and I had to let them know that whatever they did they weren't going to get caught. Whereas before, if they so much as shoplifted a piece of candy they'd get nailed, not by me, but by those ruthless GMs. Unless the players are particularly stupid, when I run cyberpunk I let them pretty much get away with a lot.
