This game is a blast tbh. It feels so good to play, it runs perfectly on pc. Edit: small tip to anyone that plays that I didn’t hear them mention. I didn’t notice at first, but your reticle will highlight red while aiming at an enemy portal if they are actually on the other side. Keep this in mind if you are playing someone who is really good with their portal placements!

Splitgate is insanely fun. It’s got a halo vibe with the portal twist on it. I’m almost thinking this will scratch the halo itch better than halo infinite multiplayer…

It doesn't really play like halo. Halo is a game about holding corners and advancing when you gain advantage. Splitgate's portal dramatically change how you approach any part of the map compared to halo making it entirely different. There is no concept of holding corners. Its not a slow tug of war.

Been playing this thing occasionally since it was quite new and thought it would never manage to get as big as it deserves. I guess this is great news. Only saw the update was coming like two days ago when I wanted to log in and the servers were down. It finally getting off the ground is the best excuse for this game to be down for a while.

Me and my nephews created new accounts to bypass the "custom game mode" only. Once we did that, we were able to play online.

For me the only thing that turned me down is that you can create these portals in specific spots. If it was an ability you could activate everywhere and there was a cool down to this ability but as you kill enemies the cooldown time would decreased.

Well optimized meaning it can run on anything. Solid gunplay meaning its easy to play but hard to master. Clean aesthetics meaning its easy on the eyes. And Halo-like meaning a lot of older gamers can play it casually while hardcore players can really flex their sweaty butts off. Why wouldn't it succeed.

Same but only got about 40 hours. Constantly playing the same people gets old quickly and I felt like it would never get off the ground. If it's actually taking off now I'll probably sink a lot more time into it.

This game actually has a fresh mechanic that I’ve never seen in a competitive FPS before. After playing Infinite for around 3 hours, it is literally stock standard Halo, I can’t really put it any other way.

I had a feeling it was could be a great game when I played it in early access, but just assumed it would be another in the plethora of failed 'great idea, but no market' games that would have a hard time pushing ahead of all the highly marketed mega-games. So glad I was wrong about that, tho. This was such a great, yet simple mechanical idea that opens up all kinds of new gameplay dimensions that hadn't really been explored before (except for the Portal series, obv.) Seems like a good time to check it out again....thanks fellas.

This game has about the most solid mechanical foundation for a new esport I have seen probably ever. So far it has been lacking proper personality and style as well as marketing but if they can fix that it has as high a chance of creating a new esports hype as any single game can have right now. It's such a simple idea with so much emergent complexity. If you're gonna invest in a new esport right now this seems much more reasonable than most that pop up.

I watched the infinite gameplay test thing and just sat there thinking half of this random garbage doesn't need to be here. Like customisation is like you have armour cores you can only do this with this here's an ai that does something for no reason colours are now bound to specific shaders and I'm just thinking why don't you just make it simple here are the the things you want go nuts. That's why I enjoy old halo that's why I enjoy splitgate it just says here's all the tools go have fun.
