They got addicted to shock value after the red wedding. I call BS on the entire excuse that the scene came off as assault by accident. They did this totally on purpose and then were afraid of the pushback. Idk what they were expecting... ppl to go "wow! That's so edgy and daring!"?? Lolol

That scene of Jaime and Cersei having intercourse over their son’s dead body, NEVER HAPPENED IN THE BOOKS! The writers in the show purposely try to ruin Jaime’s story and make the audience not like him. They tried to sabotage his story due to personal bias against the character.
