Pedro Pascal's Oberyn Martell needs his own GoT series (prequel/BetterCallSaul-style) to make up for how badly the Dorne storyline got screwed.

I have heard another theory about why Melisandre still looks young without the choker in this scene, but I am not sure if it makes any sense because I dont get it. The claim is, that Selyse actually knows about Mel's true age and she sees her as an old woman all the time while everyone else (or maybe only the men) are decieved by her magic... and so are we, the viewers.

I think Mel's necklace is simply a mistake. Not a big one so I'm not bothered by it. But in the books Mance is definitely wearing a ruby to make his glamour work so you can't use that example to explain away Mel's bath scene unfortunately.

I watched this episode a couple days ago. That scene with Arya and The Hound where she cleans his wound, as simple as it is, is visually spectacular.

This episode has always stood out to me as one of the best, because It seems like it's FULL of perfectly written dialogue sequences. There's the three equally compelling conversations between Tyrion and Jaime, and then Bronn, and then Oberyn, about who will be his champion. (Conversations in which Peter Dinklage's acting chops are arguably at their all-time best.) And then we get awesome dialogue with Daenerys and Daario, when he sneaks into her room, and then with jealous Jorah the next morning lol even the most, "forgettable," scene, the bathtub chat with Melisandre and Queen Selyse, would be the Emmy scene in any other show. Then we go to Jon trying to convince Alliser Thorne and the First Builder to plug the tunnel. Then the Arya and the Hound share two Awesome scenes, (and I haven't even gotten to the scene in which Brienne and Podrick meet Hotpie!) Then the snow Castle scene Sansa and Robyn, (smack 👋💥) and then Sansa and Baelish. (smack 💋💥) And then, to top it all off, Sansa is assaulted by her crazy Aunt Lysa, who they end the episode with a shot of falling lol after being pushed through the Moon door to her death! This episode, and the next, are the best chapters in, "A Storm of Swords," and also in the show!

Shireen is definitely from GRRM, but the reason why is almost certainly different.

I'm so looking forward to Sansa and Arya meeting Sandor again... their reactions are totally unpredictable... from like a warming embrace like a friend who helped you on the way... who opened their eyes more and more to reality... who protected them.. even wanted to save them... both... in the end he was totally devoted to Arya. He would have lived and died for her.. he might be the last true night.. with a brutal honest attitude :D

I love the Oberyn arc and this is the episode where I started to get pissed off about how GOT was molding Baelish. It's hard to believe that Littlefinger kissed Sansa without knowing that Lysa was observing. Also, this is where GOT starts to make Baelish more stupid than his book counterpart. From this episode on, Baelish makes a series of such unwise decisions (polar opposites from the books) that it's hard to reconcile that he's the same character from the beginning seasons. It's like Petyr had a stroke and was mentally impaired. Selling Sansa off to the Boltons makes no sense whatsoever, in so many ways. On the other hand - I really love that Oberyn tells a story within a story that is so entrancing I could hardly breathe. And Pedro Pascal has earned his adoration a thousand times over with that grand intelligence with which he portrays Oberyn. It makes the outcome of the trial by combat incredibly frustrating, hard to believe and one of the great "Fuck, no!" moments that ASOIAF is so famous for. I would totally watch an Oberyn spinoff. God, I would LOVE that.

the ruby on melisandres neck is just a continuity mistake, in the books the glamour over mace and rattleshirt is not activated by her oresence, but by a ruby set into their handcuffs
