Don´t get me wrong, Game of Thrones was a masterpiece until Season 7 and 8 came out. After that, not so much. The books on the other hand, those are great, and I can´t wait to read Winds of winter, I mean, I´m 36, and I´m hoping I can read it before I die.

I finished GOT in 1 week and I can say that GOT is sad. sure there are happy moments but in the end it left me in tears anyway

The name of character who sacrificed in the scene is Hodor. He has only said hodor for all the time and nobody knows why he did that. In that scene the secret of Hodor comes out that it actually means Hold the door. however the best way to perfectly understand this scene is watching the entire series it's queit complicated.

Hodor is a "gentle giant" sort of character who helped some very important characters in desperate need, particularly Bran who was seeking for a higher power to help win the most important war of GoT. But everyone thought Hodor was mentally challenged because the only word he ever says is "hodor". In this clip we find he was not mentally challenged. The girl running away is pulling Bran and asking Hodor to hold the door. Bran was immersed in visions of the past when Hodor was a normal kid. When the girl in the present screams repeatedly "hold the door" to save them from imminent death, Bran is hearing the girl while immersed in his visions and looking at Hodor as a kid. Bran has not yet mastered his powers so when he tries to use them to help the situation while stillin the vision of the past, he accidentally destroys young Hodor's mind.

Its crazy cause they dangle that in front of your face the whole time. No one knows why he says only "hodor" until this moment. Shit blew my mind. One of my favorite scenes in cinematic history.

We can say that he saw his future protecting Bran just to Hold the Door.
