This is a bit nit picky, sorry, but at 13:58 that’s the wrong King Aerys picture up. That’s a picture of king Aerys I, not Aerys II. They were two very different kings. It’s an easy mistake, but one that I just thought should be made note of.
The Take Girls, girls, did you really put out a video TODAY OF ALL DAYS?! We don't have time for all this. The Night King has Dany's dragon, he's one of them now. The wall has fallen, the dead march south. Now grab your arms and armour and man the battlements. Make videos later...... If we survive.
that's what im saying! this excuse that "they had the book to refer to but now they dont" just scream lazy and unimaginative writing. The writers should be ashamed to call themselves writers if THAT is what they can come up with after 7 seasons!
Bran being king would be a unmovable figurehead. Can't be intimidated, lied to or threaten but can't accurately emphasize with his subjects. Tyrion doing most of the weight lifting while Bran acting as a gateway to prevent corruption seems like the perfect duo as a monarchy.
Technically he is. Bran said he doesn't want it. So he made Tyrion his hand. Which has all the powers of king without being king. Tyrion is king, Bran is just the face
Guess it makes sense that he'll actually be ruling the Six Kingdoms now as Hand to Bran. I don't see Bran being much of a hands on sort of monarch, so it will be Tyrion for most of it.
I feel like Bran -- the guy who doesn't desire anything -- will eventually abdicate the throne of the Six Kingdoms, once Tyrion has been fully installed in his duties as Hand of the King (making him the effective leader of Westeros in all but name). Tyrion will be named by Bran as successor, and Bran will fuck off from King's Landing back to... well, whatever the Three Eyed Raven's supposed to be doing.
In dune terms, Bran is the other memory of a reverend mother sort of, whereas tyrion is the personality and will of the reverend mother itself. Bran saying I am not bran anymore means he,(bran the owner of the body) has no real absolute rule between the legion inside him. His words to Jamie strengthens the notion. They together form Leto II, god emperor, in functionality. If bran multitude wishes that is. I believe that's why bran refused winterfell because by rights it was brans, not the multitudes. So he/it didn't have the right to winterfell. But kingship was being appointed regardless of blood, by sort of merit?(yeah, not much but absolutely not by inheritance at least), so he could have the right to become the king, just like anyone (one might even attemp to rationalize including a horse of those lords, as a cynic vote😅), if they were to be selected.
Well hopefully he doesn’t plan, strategize or scheme in any way as hand. Show Tyrion is horrible at it after he kills the man that granted him his power that he loved exercising over everyone. Just as entitled as all the other main characters.
At the end I felt like he’s the real king. Bran was there for five seconds and then left to “look for Drogon” and Tyrion stays to literally handle everything.
I feel like Tyrion ending up on the Iron Throne would probably be the only option that literally everyone would be okay with. Dany is a great conqueror, but a subpar ruler. Jon is a just honorable leader, but he is not a great politician and is not particularly smart at playing the game. Tyrion, however, is humble, smart, and full of integrity.
Tariq Thomas Unfortunately I feel that they’re setting up Sansa to be the ruler. Hence why they’ve recently given her the mantle of “smartest person in all of Westeros who plays the game better than anyone.” Will be hugely disappointing but feels almost inevitable now.
Brainwatch I don’t know about Book Tyrion but TV Tyrion is a pretty great guy. As far as Shae and Tywin..meh, they deserved it. I agree about the eunuch jokes, though.
Tyrion had arranged a dangerous situation within Westeros by allowing Sansa to become the Northern realm's ruler, while brother Bran sits on the throne. Dangerous and stupid.
It could happen. It would also be a huge middle finger to Tywin Lannister that the dynasty that lasts for a thousand years starts with Tyrion. And that's what this story is about: the cripples, bastards, and broken things coming into power when no one expected them to do so.
I'm fine with Tyrion ending up on the throne (though I still think NO throne is the most likely ending of all), but I reeeeeeeally don't want him to be a Targaryen. Maybe it's set up better in the books for that kind of reveal, but I don't feel like it has been in the show. Plus it feels like it would hugely undercut the relationship he's always had with Tywin.
@@kevinw712 From what I remember it hasn't been pushed in the books like R+L=J. It's more of a theory that you can kind of connect together rather than a trail of breadcrumbs leading somewhere.
@@topnotchshinobi I've seen some theorize that it does become more of a democracy, but with the leadership being given to Varys. But by now in the series, that would seem too unnatural. And for the first few years, Varys was always one of my favorite characters, but he's just fallen way too much into the background now for it not to seem abrupt he'd be given control at the end of this. Say what you will about Tyrion not being AS smart in the last couple seasons as he was in the first few, but his very basic presence hasn't really fallen to the wayside as much as Varys' has.
Tyrion is my favorite. I also think Peter Dinklage has done the best acting in the entire series. Loved the scene when he said all he’s guilty of is being a dwarf.
peter dinklage, Alfie Allen, and Rheon Iwan, were hands down the best actors in this series. They delivered their roles so fluidly. With the earlier source material, it was pure magic
I loved him in the beginning of the series.. but his character arc has gone down hill a lot these past two seasons. I feel that if he did betray Daenerys for someone else it would be someone as clever as him. I think instead of being on the throne he might try to get Sansa on the throne. She actually cares about the people verses Daenerys.
*Started off TEAM DANNY...then i switch to TEAM JON...but now i am fully committed to TEAM TYRION. Hope the little man gets the throne. Honestly, he is deserving of it.*
People think when he said "by the end of all this I expect one of you to be wearing this pin" is foreshadows death. Maybe its foreshadowing the fact hell be king instead of the hand. Hmm.
I know that Cersei has probably already lost her child (if she ever was pregnant) but if she is still pregnant, for the love of everything I know, please let her die at childbirth while giving birth to a dwarf. Then let Tyrion inherit the Casterly Rock and raise Cersei's child as his own. Wishful thinking I know, but it just sounds great.
He's half-Targaryen. Aerys raped Tywinn's wife. Challenge me, fools. I'll drop evidence left and right. He's purposely playing stupid right now. Its a strategy since he is in unfamiliar territory. He's fully aware of the hatred toward his family AND the last thing he wants is to repeat the mistakes of his father Tywinn's shadow casted over Aerys' during his rule. The people believed that Tywinn held the real power. Its also courtesan. He lost his royal status the moment he put an arrow through Tywin's heart. Its all strategy rn. Cersei won't even see Tyrion coming. Tyrion is also the only person who has shown a significant amount of financial control and focus. We'll need that person as they take a broke Throne.
Someone did the math after season 7, Tyrion has had contact with more characters on the show than any other character. He has met and interacted with basically every major character on the show since season 1.
This reminds me of Dumbledore in one of Harry Potter books saying that those who are best to rule are the ones who want it least. That is certainly very true for Jon Snow, and to some extent Tyrion. Tyrion wants to be the man behind the leader because he knows that is where the true power lies. It would be a significant moment if Tyrion does become the one to sit on the iron throne. He never wanted it and no one else has ever considered it, but he would be a great leader. If not to be the king of Westeros, I believe Tyrion will bring peace. Maybe he will be the creator of democracy in Westeros.
Dumbledore was arguably wrong...a wise man once said that those who are the best to rule are the ones who want it just enough, not those who want it least or those who want it too much. :)) Tyrion for the first president of the Republic of Westeros!!
@Ruthie Bella Well I guess by definition those who don't want the power too much also don't want it for the sake of power but in order to do good things. Those two things aren't mutually exclusive. All I'm saying is, I'm agreeing that Tyrion is the most rational option. People who are utterly disinterested in ruling and politics, make lousy rulers. As evidenced in the real world and in GoT. Jon is a lousy ruler.
When watching Got for the first time recently I had an interesting experience with the red wedding. Sadly I was somewhat aware of it, and I dreaded it, it was only when the episode started that I remembered what would happen. But as it got closer to the scene, I couldn't do it at that moment, I had to pause and wait. After some time my emotions where more controlled and I almost didn't feel it all. Almost. In the end I definitely felt it.
I’ve been thinking this since I started reading the books. He’s my favorite character; And the only one who could rule well. Danny is a good conqueror that is horrifyingly bad at ruling. John is a inspiring leader who lets his guard down too much. Tyrion has always suffered. He has always had to adapt. He has always had empathy, kindness, and ruthlessness I honestly Will never forgive The show runners for taking out Taisha really loving him though. There was absolutely no reason to keep that out of the show.
No they wouldn't. Sansa is a warden of the north. She needs a match that will win her alliances and establish the safety of her people. Remember what Game of Thrones taught us with Rob Stark- Nobility doesn't have the privilage of marrying for love.
@@ss-nc2dy Jaime and Cersei will die that's pretty much confirmed. Tyrion gets the Casterly Rock as the last living Lannister, if the writers don't fuck up for a surprise effect like ep3 ending.🤢 Sansa cannot get a better suitor from a noble house (unless Aegon decides to marry her to strengthen the Stark-targ alliance)- this is from the audiences point of view. From the show's pov, if she doesn't re-marry Tyrion, her next suitor would be sweet Robyn.🙄 I am okay with her ruling as a single QITN but she deserves to be loved after all the shit she's gone through. Same for Tyrion.
@@elenavanderwoodsen9783 your personal opinion. It'd be a poetic justice. A demon monkey and a traitor's daughter- whom the world despised and misused, never considered them contenders for the throne or barely even sympathized, two realistic human being who survived only through exploiting their situation- ascending the throne and ruling the 7 kingdoms. They're marriage was one of the major political marriage, a forced one with no love. This time, they'll remarry and take the thrones. However after seeing the quality writing in Ep3, (🤢) I shouldn't be so optimistic. Should probably assume a Disney style ending with Jonaerys or Gendarya being the endgame.🤢
👍I've always felt the same. Peter Dinklage has top billing on the show. Most fans seem to overlook this simple fact; it's also the most logical and practical reason why Tyrion will likely prevail.
I also hoped that Tyrion would become the king but he still became a hand to the King and next to Bran is actually a great pair to rule with empathy and care.
I am not a fan of the Tyrion Targaeryen theory. It kind of undermines his conflicted relationship with his dad when he, you know, isn't his dad. After all, Tyrion in many ways shares Tywin's best qualities, as well as some of his vices, and the ultimate irony of his least loved child being his true heir is just too delicious to forsake for some stupid secret heritage.
Agreed. It just seems silly to have yet another secret Targ - so close to the seat of power too. Also I think that Tyrion IS very much the son of the 'great' Tywin Lannister is kind of important. That he fathered someone with a physical disability- and amazing brain - as well as an all star jock like Jaime- because stuff like that is random and meaningless and how Tywin treated him was appallingly cruel. Making creepy inbred and mad Aerys his father would play into the image of the dwarf as something sinister and basically go against the whole point of the Tyrion / Tywin thing.
I agree, tho I wouldn't mind having the twins being the secret targaryens. Cersei is more like aerys with her obsession to let everything else burn..and Jaime being treated by Tywin as his golden son when in fact, he's Aerys's bastard..and I also feel like the twins' names could pass as targaryen names with the a's and e's sounds .
Westeros would never know how lucky they are to have these two looking after them. And I hope Varys lives a long life as the hand and then dies of old age -- completing Melisandre's prediction (and, heck, she's only right fifty percent of the time).
God please let Tyrion becomes the King. Insert from 1st book: "When he [Tyrion] opened the door, the light from within threw his shadow clear across the yard, and for just a moment Tyrion Lannister stood tall as a king."
Part-time spouses with long distance careers that keep them apart! They are at least very close friends and career colleagues. I can see them always at work with each other regarding working out plans for the best of the North and the Seven Kingdoms. Most favored nation status! Bothe the nations and the couple. And Ramsey did horrible things to Sansa’s body as she mentioned, so only Tyrion would love and accept her as she is no matter how mutilated she might be. Love and acceptance between them both. I really think they can work!
"Death is so final, whereas life is full of possibilities". That line sums Tyrion up: he is a champion for life in its various forms (the grotesque theme), a champion of a good life (peace, plenty, even vice), a champion of preservation (of his enemies even, as we see in the execution of the Tarlys after the batlle of the loot train), a champion of eslf-preservation (not only by attempting to live, but by always attempting to better himself and to correect his ways after he makes mistakes), a man who would rather not wage war, although he is never afraid to wage it. In a show where the main enemy is death itself (which, as Lord Beric reminds us, always wins), Tyrion is the perspective of the storytellers and their agent in the story, attempting to preserve as much as can be preserved, and to wage this war against death in a manner which fits such a fight.
There is a pretty glaring reason why Tyrion went from being everyone's favorite character in the first 4 seasons to suddenly never having any witty or clever lines and being essentially just another character in the show no smarter than any other. Why is this? Because David and Dan are not that clever either. All of Tyrions best one liners and scenes were takin directly from the books. Without George R.R's voice, Tyrion is nothing.
Wasn't season 5 primarily adapted from Martin's books as well? The problems are not David and Dan, as much as the book nerds like to claim --- it's how the Lannisters are most interesting when they're together, fighting amongst each other, and Dany's subplot has long been the weakest, most boring of the entire show.
The Iron Islands isn’t a kingdom. It’s the North, Vale, Riverlands, Reach, Westerlands, Stormlands, and Dorne. When Aegon first came over Harren the Black from the iron islands conquered the riverlands (and built Harrenhal) so it was just considered one kingdom.
After this episode pretty sure aid Tyrion becomes the ruler he will have the North and the other 6 kingdoms while Sansa would also have the North and other 6 kingdoms.
Tyrion has always been my favorite character. I don't know if it will happen, but I would love to see him as king. Y'all did a lot of work on this compilation. Good job! I enjoyed it.
Tyrion of the House Lannister, The First of His Name, Rightful King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, and Protector of the Realm. LONG MAY HE REIGN!
Tyrion will win. Jon/Dany will die, either both or just one. I have a feeling Dany will, and Jon does not want the Iron Throne. The North will end up going to Sansa.
This video was amazing if I was your English professor 👩🏫 I would give you an A+. Just found your channel and this video was a hell of a first impression. I just subscribed
It makes most sense if that's how it ends up. Sansa as queen and Tyrion as the king she Marries. Tyrion is very political in philosophical way (how to protect the kingdom by any means necessary) while Sansa is more of a technical politician (with the people), the one that understands the people's needs more. They complete each other as rulers.
Me too. Have been waiting to see if the show will do the Tyrion is half Targaryan thing for a bit, but the him and Sansa thing became a real possibility in the tomb...we'll see. It wouldn't be the worst placement for him, but I have this nagging idea lingering that the writers may place him in 4he betrayal role. I'm really hoping not. Hoping his look of concern at the end of season 7 when he saw Jon go in to the bed room was not a look of negativity and need to report to Cersei:/ He has not looked too horrified at the negative comments of Dany and Sansa when being told of their disappointment of his lacking judgment in the past few episodes. Maybe because there was no lack. He knew what he was doing all along.....Booo! Hope not. I love the little guy character and want him to have grown as much as it appears. Again. We'll see.
Tyrion's secret origins being a Targaryen is just kinda wrong because it undermines his character and everything we enjoyed his conflict with his father and the family.
But lore wise it would make sense, so I think as a matter of the history of the universe tryion should be an unknown targaryen but in terms of pure story, he shouldn't, I think as a comprise it should never be confirmed not denied
Your statement is nonsense, Tyrion is deformed if he had not been he be the heir to tywin's legacy. He saved kings landing and proved to be a capable political, His whole life was shit and he did hardwork and got nothing. After he killed his father.
Does it? He'd still be a Lannister and Tywin still acknowledged him as his son at birth/soon after. .. The fact that Tywin might not be Tyrion's father just means that potentially Jaime and Cercei are his half siblings instead of his full siblings (and 3rd cousins?) so they'd all be family regardless. If Tywin knew his wife had been raped (and she actually was) and therefore knew about the possibility that the son his wife died giving birth to might not be his (as is likely) .. then their difficult relationship makes even more sense. So..
@@hildegunnurdahl5130 Even if was true why didn't Tywin start a war, because Tywin was ruthless bastard and so was everyone. Tyrion being a targaryen would be the same as jon. Being a secret targaryen had no impact on the story but to backstabb Dany the true Queen of Westeros.
I’m glad it’s posted. A lot of RU-vidrs were wrong about Dani being pregnant by now and that Cersie would have a miscarriage or have sex with Euron on camera. So at this point posting any theory is fine.
My prediction is as follows: Tyrian sits Iron throne. Sansa his queen. Jon is King of the north Gendry gives up his title to be with arya Dani makes a mistake out of anger and dies. Dragon dies. Sam and bran work at the citadel
if this happens im gonna forgive all the shit the show has thrown to me... it would be considerable epic but i dont think they got the balls to do it.... edit: but why would Gendry have to give up his title?
Probably not considering how the show seems to be butchering itself. And when that happens, show runners (any show runners) stop creating meaningful narratives and start fan-servicing or in other words creating protagonists out of most loved characters and showering them with all kinds of fortune which in this case is the iron throne😒
This video made me realize how much courage it must have taken for Peter Dinklage to take this role. Dwarfs are often represented in narrative/film as magical, non-human, or as a punchline and here he is playing a fully human, emotionally complex and brilliant man with a huge archetypal hero's journey. I'm so proud of him.
Baby D+J would be a bastard, though. Unless they survive the battle, marry legally (which also has some legal intricacies concerning Jon), and have that gddamn baby. I am more of the Bran Stark club: "How do you know there is an after?"
@@hereisyoursign6750 Naw, Jon probably already impregnated Dany on that boat - it takes 10 months to bake a baby in the ol' womb. So Jon can die anytime TBH. Dany may die in childbirth - like as part of that curse she has on her. If she isn't totally barren. I'm not totally against Sansa/Tyrion -- they had some moments in episode 3 to hint at that.
Tyrion as king would be way more poetic than having Dany or Jon as ruler. I mean Dany and Jon suck at ruling to be honest - both of them had a revolt against them. And Sansa as Queen would be great but I can't imagine that she would leave the North.
I'm sorry ladies, you make a fair point, but I don't think D&D have any idea what they're doing anymore. They threw all the foreshadowing of past season of the windows.
Nah, they clearly have followed through with their foreshadowing and the seeds they've planted. They know what they're doing. You just don't like it. There's a difference.
@@TheGeorgeD13 did you watch the show dividing your attention with Facebook or something? Dumb and Dumber ruined what could have been the best show in history.
Shireen’s lesson about the Dance of Dragons is about Jon & Dany’s inevitable “dance” that will occur toward the end of the series. Jon will be on his fathers dragon, while Dany will be on Drogon. Tyrion becoming the ruler (elected or not) may be a very big possibility, but him being Targaryen is unlikely.
Totally agreed. I think Tyrion will make an ultimate sacrifice to save Sansa for sake of love. I don't think the show isn't about him being king. I believe it is about him's finding the meaning that he has meant to be loved, because he hasn't have any affectionate from his family (except Jaime) and the only person that was Shirren's that had betrayed him. In the end, I think he will end up dying after someone will shown her love toward him and it will be Sansa. I think Tyrion's story that he need someone that loves him.
@Leo Peridot Of course. You had to be the person that stooped to that level. Get over yourself and your hatred of the US. Its a fictional novel and democracy is objectively better than Cersei or Robert or the mad King.
Dayum! I totally forgot that Tyrion was the only other guy able to touch the dragons besides Daenerys and Jon. It makes sense that he ends up on the throne.
If in the end he would indeed become king, wouldn't it be great if the people would remember him as "Tyrion the Great"? All despite his not so appaerant physical height, but due to his character. It would be a bittersweet victory over all these prejudices and the superficial hate against him he had to face his entire life obly because of his look. Oh, wouldn't it be a glorious moment for him, while sitting on the iron throne, sipping on a glass of wine and thinking of his father/Tywin? Tywin on the other hand would have been so mad. What a great joy to imagine.
Ok, I have to agree with most of this video except for the Penelope part. Mainly because I recall perfectly that he does not feel the same for Penny that she feels for him. He keeps rejecting her. And Penelope waited for her husband rejecting other suitors and she was known to be very loyal, despite having many suitors for being so beautiful. I feel, RR Martin went more for the parallel of his marriage with Sansa in the books, (maybe a little in the series too since in the series Tyrion has not been with a woman since he left Sansa and in the books Sansa has not accepted any suitor since she got married) Penelope waited for her husband for years until he came back home, so on risk to be unpopular, I believe that parallel of Penelope would fit Sansa. A friend of mine even reminded me that at some point in the book, Penny asks him what he misses from KL and he replies "My wife. The wife I barely knew" So... yeah, I think Sansa would fit more the role of Penelope.
I been thinking lil man is a Targaryen for a while. Freeing the dragons from their chains and one of them speaking to him kinda pushed me over the edge.
While the Targaryen thing might not lead him to ride a dragon I think it will lead him to survive a wildfire attack once Cersei loses it. He also might win the people’s favor by helping them evacuate somehow from the upcoming battle
Unless they are going to suddenly and inexplicably abandon the witches' prophecy, the person who replaces Cersei will be a new queen who is "younger and prettier". So it won't be Tyrion, unless Sansa becomes queen and remarries him - which is definitely a possibility. My bet is Sansa on the iron throne at the end.
We haven't heard the prophecy of the Valonghar in the tv series however. And I do believe that the younger prettier queen will indeed be the least likely one. Cercei always thought it would be Margary and later Daenerys, but it will probably be Sansa. It will be poetic justice.
Tyrion's always been my king eversince that Jon POV in AGoT..and I love that quote from Maester Aemon back when he was still on the Wall,"Oh,I think that Lord Tyrion is quite a large man."..the show should've included that..one of my favorites..
I think that one of the more underrated revealing scenes of Tyrion is the one at 11:16 where he reminds Cersei--and the audience--that he loved and cared for his niece and nephews (well, not Joffrey, but definitely he wouldn't have killed the kid, especially because he loves Jamie and that's Jamie's son). It reminds us that Tyrion is harsh when needed but it's never his first option, and especially not when someone contains goodness or innocence, even with Cersei (as he said, "loving [her] children is her only redeeming quality.").
many people think that Dany is Jon's foil, but it's always been Tyrion: Jon, raised as a bastard, actually legit Targaryen - Tyrion, raised as legit, actually a Targaryen bastard

@@pitaariel1920 if you think this has a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention. sorry I've waited a long time to use that in an actual conversation.
You are so right about this, I have not even considered him but he has always been there. He's always been one of my favorite characters in this (second only to Littlefinger) but thinking back on his journey through this lens makes him the best proponent for the throne. It would even be a bitter-sweet ending if someone like Jon was to die by the end of the series (I'm fairly certain Daenerys will die and I wouldn't really care that much, Jon though...).
Thank you for doing your research. I have such a hard time getting anyone to realize that Tyrion will sit on the throne as a Blackfyre (legitimized Targaryen bastard) through the efforts of Varys and his spy, Jorah. When Varys gave up his position as Master of Secrets to the king/queen of KL, and risked his life to take Tyrion to Volantis, Varys had a plan. That Jorah would be the one to take Tyrion to Dany was no coincidence. Undoubtedly Varys was in Volantis to talk to The Golden Company about Tyrion being legitimized as the Mad King's bastard son. That Jorah, a former sell sword of The Golden Company, showed up when he did and took Tyrion to Dany, who also had been supported by Varys, I realized that Varys could proved what Tywin could not. Varys as Master of Secrets, was given the job of not only finding out others secrets for the king, but to also assist the king with his own secrets. Varys would of known about the king's secret meetings with Tywin's wife. and Know who the possible bastards were. And tonight, Tyrion's legitimization is foreshadowed by Gentry's. Now with The Golden Company in King's Landing, I'm reminded of Jaime's story to Brienne in bath describing how Tywin Lannister gained the trust of the Mad King and the gates were opened, but once inside Tywin sacked the city. The Golden company founded by a Blackfyre will attack the Lannister forces from within. It's amazing how this story or history keeps repeating itself over and over but with subtle changes. Tonight after S8E4 we see Gentry rejected by Arya and also given House Baratheon setting up Robert's storyline again even after the house was all gone. Arya will repeat Lyanna's storyline, Bronn works out a deal to take house Highgarden that had no heirs, everything in this world is cyclical. Even the Azor Ahai prophecy keeps trying to be fulfilled. Jamie killing the Mad King was a failed Azor Ahai attempt marked by "Burn them all". Jaime will kill Cersei too but Azor Ahai will fail again. I'm sure Jaime will strangle Cersei with his prosthetic hand. but the Azor Ahai prophecy requires a sword. Beric Dondarrion had a flaming sword and was returned from the dead like Jon, he may have killed the one he loved with his sword to get it. But Beric never quit knew who the real target should be, thinking it was the White Walkers. Failed Azor Ahai. Melisandre also failed in her role first by thinking Stannis was the prince that was promised, then Jon which was correct, but she seemed to switch to Arya and believed the fight at Winterfell was the final battle and surrendered her body to the ashes once she thought the treat was over. But while the battle at winterfell was to kill Bran, it was also a false flag event. The human greenseer that Bran saw in his vision when the dragonglass was pushed into his heart is the real Night King, and like Benjen Stark, the dragonglass heals flesh and bone. Benjen was neither dead nor alive and could of lived forever had he not sacrificed himself to save Jon. The Night King is a greenseer with 12 of Craster's newborn sons , some taken in season 3. and they are in the Land of Always Winter. The White Walkers are simply adult sized ice avatars controlled through the babies with perhaps the White Walker boss being in the Night Kings own image. Bran isn't flawless, but he will figure this out and tell Jon. And Jon will fulfill Azor Ahai when he puts a sword into Dany's heart when she says "burn them all!", withdraw a burning sword like Beric, but unlike Beric Jon will know who the real night king is. The 12,000 year old human greenseer with dragonglass still in his heart.
This would be one of the few ways Westeros would get a happy ending. The ending of "The Long Night" gives me hope that maybe this show is heading toward an ending that could be at least that good. If he and Sansa get back together, then it would also feed into a lot of fan theories that Sansa will be queen ("the only thing she's ever wanted.") Doing this would also mirror history in some interesting ways. Tyrion is similar to Richard III, and Sansa shares a lot of similarities to Mary Queen of Scots. If their child ends up on the throne, then that child is essentially King James.
I would have been thrilled if Tyrion had become King. He, out of everyone, deserved to sit on the throne. One of my favorite things about Tyrion (besides his wit, bravery and intelligence) is that he has a heart for the down-trodden. He has the qualities that a ruler should have.
Tyr in old norse does not mean "the god". He is a war god whose worship was largely taken over by worship of Odin. He sacrificed his hand in order to bind Fenris, the largest wolf in the world, who will be released at Ragnarok and will devour Odin, only to be avenged by Vidar the silent. From Tyr comes Tuesday. Tyr MAY be cognate with Dyeus, who may have been the chief deity of the Proto-Indo-Europeans. Pretty big stretch for symbolism for me.
skaldicofmaldon Good points. But in a pop culture video, they don’t need accuracy, just that it could be understood that way by author, show creators, or audience members who are basically familiar with Norse myth but not deeply.
She's badass, not wise. Going into an actual battlefield with those arms? It's brave, but foolish. She's good, but she's still overestimating herself. Best ruler would be Theon imo. He hasn't got an ounce of arrogance left in him and knows how to trust. He'd get an amazing counsel and listen to them. Arrogance is what gets them all in the end.
Sansa is very smart and senses the ambition in Dany. She doesn't trust her because Dany lusts for power and does not like to be questioned about her decisions. She also had issues with John's decisions as King in the North and the fact the he too does not like to be questioned. Plus John or Dany can't sit on the iron throne because that is what everyone expects... there would be no twist in that. It has to be someone ELSE. But Who? When Sansa turns and says to Tyrion on top of the castle at Winterfell, "what if there is someone better?", everyone assumes she means John... since John had just told her and Arya about his beginnings. But in that moment, Sansa sees the ambition in both Dany and John... and through Bran has already known and learned about Tyrion's true heritage. I think you're right. I think Sansa wants to get back together with Tyrion because she knows he is the ONE. That he has the heart of a good King because he listens and cares about the people around him. Plus Sansa could perhaps influence him the most and become the POWER behind the throne?!? It would be a great twist and I think it would be a fitting ending to a great show.
If we're talking about the purple/royal/tyranus connection... what do you get when you combine equal parts blue (ice) and red (fire)? I was thinking that was the reason it took so long for us to find out about Jon's lineage in the show-- the writers didn't want to make an eventual conclusion too obvious-- but the parallels in this video definitely have definitely changed my mind. Starting to make a lot more connections regarding what makes Tyrion's experiences slightly different from Jon or Dany yet encompass similar messages about life or nobility.
Tyrion can be considered the dark horse of the series. He is not as blatantly in the face like Jon and Daenerys are, he gets no glory or love from the people no matter what he does. But the things he does for others are small and meaningful, like giving a poor mother money for her child or helping a handicapped boy ride a horse again. He has eyes for the lowest of the low in society and there are many of them. That's why I think he could be a great king in the end.
I hope all these connections you're making are accurate and Tyrion really does become King, I really do. Because it would mean the show has actually had a plan for these characters from the beginning. But, after tonight's episode and the Night King's death with no explanation of why he existed or what his purpose was despite years of build up with the white walkers from literally episode 1 of season 1....I am starting to get worried the show runners don't have a plan at all. This could end up being the most disappointing show in terms of resolution to have ever been on tv.
They literally said what his purpose was the episode prior though? Night King wants to snuff out all life, erase man from the planet, doing so by killing Bran (the memory of all man) then they will be nothing without animals without their history/memory. Night King was made by the Children of the Forest (elf things) in a botched ritual to protect themselves from Mankind. Instead they created an Undead Lich who slowly over millennia built up his army of the dead to take over. Children of the Forest want to protect life and nature at all costs, so the literal walking undeath was the antithesis to all they had worked thousands of years to do.
Pretty sure last episode confirms that they've had a plan all along. And there is really no point of explaining the Night King. He's a plot device, nothing more and never was built up to be anything more than a plot device threat.
Absolutely amazing portrayal of Tyrion. You guys did such a good job describing Tyrion and how he might just have a chance at the Throne. I just listened to a guy in a video talk about how he believes Tyrion is and has always been conspiring against daenerys.....WHAT? WOW....does he have it wrong!!! I left him a link to check out this video to hear what Tyrion is truly like. Hopefully he'll follow the link over to your channel to hear the truth about Tyrion. Nice job!!!
