Even at $50 it's the lowest price I've seen for a fighting stick, it's the absolute entry level at this point so by itselfs it makes it interesting as a product
Are you sure the width of the steel shaft is different? Seimitsu has thicker steel than Sanwa (LS-32 vs JLF) but Hori should be the same diameter as Sanwa. Is it possible that the 8bitdo has a sleeve around the steel, creating an illusion of thicker steel?

I bought this a couple years ago for like 40$ I think, and it’s decent. Definitely perfect for some retro arcade beat em ups, shmups or run and gun, but not ideal for actual fighting games. The lever is not responsive enough, so sometimes I have an hard time to pull off something as simple as an Hadoken. If you can get it for 20$ though it’s definitely recommended.
nice! picked it up for $40 to go with a bunch of old arcade games I've picked up. maybe sometime I'll get a big bad real stick but for tooling around on retro arcade games it seems perfect.
Yeah it's an awesome stick to just mess around with and play arcade games. Paired with the Switch, it's really awesome too since there's so many ports of amazing arcade games and indie games inspired by older arcade games on it!
I got one of these, I haven't tested the durability of it due to playing too many different games. Regardless, the overall experience has been positive. You did an excellent overview of it, I would like to add some cons just so people know: Logically, the arcade stick can't turn on the Switch since it's USB only. This will slip on your lap, a table is a must.

Thanks for sharing. Grew up in the 80's in the arcades. Love arcade sticks. Used to have a much more expensive Hori Rap 4 for my ps4. Great stick but super big. Looking for a more casual smaller stick for my Switch Think this fits the bill. Thanks again👏
Thanks! And just an FYI, a few months later, this thing is still fun to bust out and play some of the arcade games on Switch with. I swapped out the joystick/lever with WASD controls on one of mine and that's also been a nice mod

thank you so much for your complete video about this fighting stick. it really helped me for buying it.. because I've never played with fighting sticks, so I wanted to see if I can be able to play with them or no.. 50$ for this product is a fair price and it's a real good controller for beginners like me.
It's definitely a great beginner stick at $20 USD! At regular price, I think it's still also good, but the 8bitdo Arcade Stick and the Mayflash arcade sticks enter the conversation haha. Thanks for checking this video out!
I bought this for retro games, pretty good to use with the atari 50th collection (not every game supports it tho) genesis collection, namco museum, nes online
I was fully aware that the full size version lets you change the stick to play smash bros Under many websites says mini had a joystick layout which I thought meant changing it too
Yeah, I think it's awesome for what it as if you can find it cheap! At $50, I just couldn't convince myself to just go ahead and order one though, haha. The Switch just has so many arcade ports and arcade inspired indie games that I think it just makes sense to have at least 1 arcade stick to be able to bust out and have fun with every now and then haha. @@wega_man After some years mine started to creak and jam. What solved the problem and resurrected the stick was: using e medium density silicon grease (Nitecore SG7) even UNDER the white pivot washer and not just around it (I'd say I've found a trick specific for this stick model). Is now working fine and better than new! :)
Nope, no bluetooth, just the cable. If bluetooth is a must have, the 8bitdo Arcade Stick is pretty nice (although a lot bigger than this stick) and you can do bluetooth or wired connection with it. It's $90 USD, but from what I remember it usually goes on sale during the holidays.
