7:45 u can also use the quick effect of mantis to bounce the set card from lord of the heavenly prison to ur hand and reset it, so the trap card does not get banished under his condition.

I agree with all of you. Only a card and not an effect from the graveyard. But it's very simple you just have to read the card. It's not to difficult, but i think that yugi players can't read it.

As a returning player using this deck as one of a few, I’m glad to know I didn’t mess up any of these interactions. The only thing I didn’t know about was that Rafflesia and Holeutea bit, but I didn’t ever feel a need to dump that card any of the times I used Raff anyhow.

I saw that and as a tralteix player I was actually upset, also if effects start a new chain and I saw some people chaining to the trap themselves to mess with timing. Also the pudica effect when I banish, if there isn't another banished card is why I like the traptrix pinguicula, banish their monster, penguicula effect to absorb it as a material (once per turn) but it's a nice feeling

Against a local guy playing Altergist I did this with traptrix Trap Hole Nightmare. I knew it never was gonna stop them, just needed the activation to resolve to trigger Sera to body block, deck thin for an answer to SD

I found an interesting interaction though. In mirror matches, when your opponent summons Sera, you can activate Time-Space, and then Effect Veiler, so when the chain resolves, veiler negates Sera's effects (including the unaffectedness), then Time-Space sends her back. Also, if Dionaea brings Sera back from the grave, or she gets special summoned from the Pudica banish, she is not link summoned, therefore is not unaffected by traps. Another interesting fact is that Rafflesia can use traps on her because Rafflesia is not a trap but a monster.

Good video man! like always... however, I have a question.. when you were speaking about Lord of Heavenly Prision, you said only Traptrix Holeutea and Imperial Iron Wall were the two only ways to by-pass the banish condition at the end phase of the next turn.. but, what about Traptrix Mantis? You just can return that set spell/trap card set by the lord before the End Phase, and set it again (or keep it in the hand) and It won´t be banished, right?? Thanks!!

We held a OTS Championship yesterday and 1 thing came up with the traptricks and i couldn't gave a proper ruling . What happens in you activate a normal trap , then chain holoutea to revive sera from GY , does the effect of sera applies when the chain is resolved and you can activate sera to SS monster or you cannot because she wasn't on the field when the trap card was activated . I told them that you cannot SS from Sera. Thanks in advance !

Quick confirmation question: Can "Break-Off Trap Hole" be triggered by the summon of your own link monster? If you have means of activating it (say, by the effect of the Traptrix monster that lets you play hole trap cards from the hand as one example) when you summon Sera, that can act as a "Dark Hole" for anything not linked (except your own Traptrix monsters because they're unaffected, of course)?

No, since sera wasn't on the field when d barrier was activated, she was only there at the resolution of the effect so her effect when a normal trap is ACTIVATED cannot be used (cards count as being activated while building the chain I believe)

one issue that comes up sometimes while playing the deck which I'm not 100% sure about is (again) regarding sera... for example, if I control sera, and I activate both a monster and a trap card... on resolution, can I choose to activate both of sera's triggers or do I just get to pick one... since if I can do both, it'd allow me to chainblock the summon with the set, which cannot be ashed.

quick question about Sera, it says that I can only use each of the 2 effects once per turn but if I don't use it, does it activate again if the conditions are met? let's say a have Sera, Phantom Knight of Shade Brigandine y Holutea, I activate Brigandine first and don't use Sera to summon from the deck, and after that, I activate Holutea, Can I special summon from the deck with Sera? My sister and I just started getting bavk into dueling. We had a dispute over traptrix trap hole nightmare. I activated a Danger! monster from my hand and it was eventually special summoned and then I was going to draw but she activated trap hole nightmare. I feel like the draw from the special summon is a mandatory effect rather than an activated effect. I let her take it though since I was already behind but what are you thoughts? Can someone better explain to me activated effects? Im am coming back to yugioh after over a decade and sooooo much has changed.

So one thing I'm confused slightly about. Isn't a set card being activated technically a different card, or is it only when they move from one location to another. Never knew about Sera being different named, understood why Holetea can't be sent. And I can understand the Pudica situation being that in the Kash matchup, all the Kashtira's CAN special themselves if you control no monster's so they might've thought that's what occurred. And yeah Pudica being able to bring back ANY Banished monster is a very important detail to note of

How about if the opponent have two banish monsters then the latest monsters banish by the effect of Pudica attached to the Pinguicula does the opponent can SS the first banish monster ( it was banished by any effects)

Thanks a lot for clarifyings things. Both, the Traptrix players as well as their opponents will be very thankful for that. But man, that's tricky. TrapTrix is supposed to be this structure deck for beginners, I think. But even that has already these tricky rulings and stuff. But I guess that is just modern Yu-Gi-Oh. If instead we would have gotten any other deck as structure deck, it would probably be at least as complicated, when it comes to rulings.

It remains as a monster and will flip as a Monster. The trap effect has still applied and it is a monster and no longer a trap card. This is the same as shade brigandine.

Traptrix player question: the field spell allows for two normal summons, but the effect is specific to “normal summon one ‘traptrix’ monster in addition to your normal summon/set.” If I synchro summon “circle of the fairies” which allows you to “normal summon/set one Insect or plant monster in addition to your normal summon/set” can I gain both effects since they are different effects or do I only gain the benefit of one or the other?

You can not. They're both worded as giving you the same extra normal summon. It's like Floowandereeze & Snowl not stacking with Double Summon. The NS you get off of Double Summon is the same NS as one of the ones you get off of Snowl. Same type of thing applies here.

Well that explains the "please konami ban traptrix cards" petitions. Thanks for the warning, as new traptrix player was aware of most of those issues while learning how to play. Sometimes is tricky, but i wonder how on earth players could have been summoning other monsters when since the support came out on ocg it was pretty clear that aracnocampa locked the special summoning. Like it was needed a neon alert or something?. Hope they stop doing that

The effect is still the monster effect of Traptrix Rafflesia, meaning that it does affect other traptrix monsters, that effect just becomes the same effect as the hole normal trap

You should be able to, holeutea is treated as a monster card after it’s been summoned. The only thing you cant do is chain arachnocampa to holeutea, if u control no other traptrix monsters, bcs u need to wait for the holeutea to resolve for it to be treated as a monster

Do you want to go over Skill Drain vs Traptrix Extra deck monster? I saw a ruling says if skill drain is already activated and face up on the field, Traptrix Extra deck monsters' effect will still be negated.

This is true. The first effect on the field takes precedence.

Here's a full break down. If Skill Drain was already up, then when Sera or other immune from trap monster comes up they are negated already included the immunity. If they get hit by a Forbidden Lance, they gain their effects back and will remain immune even after lance expires. If Sera was up first before Skill Drain, Sera will not be affected by skill drain, BUT if Sera get hit by a forbidden droplet / chalice. She will be negated and then during the end phase the Skill Drain will continue to apply they were affected by Skill Drain when their effects got negated and will continue to be negated.

I almost cheated with Pudica, I thought it was during the next end phase, than I read his monster and it couldn't be special summon so it was fine

also remember that trigger effects after branded fusion cannot be reacted to while branded lost is on field. If you branded fusion for example lubellion, when using despian tragedy. your enemy cannot react to the fusion summon of lubellion, neither any effects that happen in that chain. ur welcome

@@MSTTV i read cards pretty well, but i missed the sera requirement that you can only special a monster with the same name. thanks for making the vid. with a lot of people picking up the deck, something like this is very thoughtful and useful to many players! :)
