As a fellow intellectual, i give this theory a broken marriage out of ten, because minecraft world is infinite, if you went in a straight line for eternity (assuming you went pass the border of the world), you would still never be able to go back to your previous position, which just means Minecraft earth isn't round, it's just not a planet, it's just Minecraft.

Maybe all matter on the minecraft planet (with the exception of the players and animals etc) is the same density as the air. If something is the same density or is lighter then the air, it floats. Boom, Science!

Sand, gravel and the other ones are supposed to be affected by gravity, non of the others... Idk the science behind it. My question though is why is it the same time no matter where in the world you are, and same with night. Actually, Earth isn't a perfectly round sphere. She's a oblate spheroid. Slightly fatter around the equator and flatter at the poles, thanks to the centrifugal forces acting on her while spinning. So at the poles, you actually will weigh a tiny bit more than at the equator, since you're closer to the core.

it is more of a sphere than a soccer ball. The oblation is far less than 1%. And while it is true that you weigh less on the equator actually, it is Not due to the difference in gravity, but inertia. As you said correctly, the earth is spinning quite fast. that results in about 0.03m/s² (roughly 0.3%) less downwards acceleration. In grand total you are the heaviest at northpole, and the lightest on a mountain in the andens. (The difference is roughly 0.7%)

These gravity equations, and the implications we're deriving from them, would still depend on distance working the same way as in our world. But does it? For example, does light brightness taper off the same in all directions, in a circle, from its source? If not, then we already have signs that distance doesn't quite behave the same way as we might expect. If the equation for light brightness is different, things like gravity might also work differently. And I'm not sure there's a straightforward coordinate remapping between them either, since I don't think running speed works in the kind of squarish way we might expect from the light brightness. I don't know what equations *would* be right, but I think there is enough evidence to show that we cannot rely on equations from our world transferring so easily to the minecraft world. I suspect that in order to account for all of the observations we could make, we would find that the physics works substantially differently, and not just the distances.

Shala, while wolfie's comment isn't logical, the speed at which an object falls in air is based on its shape, not its mass (with no air resistance everything would fall at 9.8 m/s^2 on earth). This video doesn't do a good job explaining how gravity _really_ works and instead only explains just enough to prove the point (of course, using the rules of gravity in a place with floating blocks doesn't make a ton of sense like you said).

Here's a better question, When you dig straight down in Minecraft; you will eventually hit bedrock. If you go into creative mode and break the bedrock, you fall into something called the 'Void.' Does this mean the Minecraft world has no mantle? Is there NO core? Is it because you burn or suffocate to death? The 'Void' is said to be endless, meaning that you would fall forever, but if the planet's round, keep in mind you can see stuff after you die, wouldn't you be crushed by the pressure of getting too close to the core and you would see the core, or would you just fall to the other side of the planet. If there's nothing causing the gravity, how is there gravity?

Isn't mass on the complete opposite side of the planets still applying gravitational force on your body? It's a lot weaker but it's still pulling on you nonetheless. As for the void, I could be said that it's a hollow planet. How the player dies is anyone's guess but minute physics made a video saying that you would just float in the center if you dug inside a hollow Earth.
