Let me know what you guys think of this new series! This won't replace the normal content by any means, but hopefully it's worth doing alongside the obscure history stuff, too!
When I was a kid back in 1983 or so, my friend had the DK game watch and I was so jealous. Fast-forward 35 years and I know have a Donkey Kong cabinet in my living room. Guess I showed him...
My dude! Nobody talks about The Game and watch in great detail, only mentioning the d-pad and the origin story. Even just the smallest additional details are appreciated! I give this video format a thumbs up!
hey john riggs im your biggest fan ive been through a lot recently my friend is going through a transitioning and he is being gangstalked but wish i could help him more but its kind of hard seeing as we live far from eachother all i can really do is hack any cyborgs that jeph bozo sends after him and theres no garuntee that he wont send more or make more to come after him. amazon claimed that he was a nazi and thats not true but thats how the attack was innitiated and its bein run by very high up people like jeph but if we could have support by someone like you, maybe we can get enough traction to finally stop gangstalking once and for all and if your a fan of linking park maybe you will want to fight against jeph because it is thought that he was gangstalkeing chester beddington befor he got passed away and it was probably a cover up. im suprised more linking park fans dont rise up against gangstalking knowing that information but you know how it goes, no all people are willing to accept the truth. Another way i help is with my wand that is very powerful but only because i am what some would call a warlock. i feel bad for whoever cross the path of a warlock but somethimes more power is needed and exposure if you could just send help john riggs that would be great i have some nintedno games i can trade you if you can help because you have a lot of suscbirners and also we can do a collab and maybe you can make a video explaining that im really humble and down to earth because i think girls are intimidated by me becaue i have 44 susbrivers and they probably think that the fame is gettiung to my head but they should know i wont hurt them and that im really nice just need a chance to prove it cuz im still just me even after all the attention ive been getting on the internet recently i will always remember my roots but another problem could be that before i died i was transitionting to female against my will and after hellmama brought me back i cam back a boy so girls might still think im a girl but actually im a man again since ive came back a live.
Hey this was cool. Reminded me of documentaries back when they were good. Straight to the point and no over production. Looking forward to more of these. Glad I clicked.
I like the new format. I often wanna watch long videos but my 50-60 hour work week makes it nearly impossible much of the time. Stuff like this really helps.
I love this format. As someone that loves LGR Tech Tales and the Gaming Historian this is exactly what I would want out of this channel. In addition I feel there isn't as much love for handhelds in the retro game space and certainly not as many videos about them so it's quite welcome to see that you will be focusing on them. As always I'm glad I subscribed and psyched to see more content.
I like this series a lot. I think this will be the new way for ones to hear new information instead of talking about the same history over and over again.
This was super. Concise and detailed at the same time. Having both these qualities in a script is tough to pull off. Well done on the execution. Keep the series going.
Love the new video Kelsey! It’s good to have opportunity to watch an informative vid even when you’re short on time, plus it’s clear the shorter vid format doesn’t mean there’s any less detailed content!!
When I was a kid I played Game and Watch so much that I could still hear it beeping and occasionally see its characters moving on the wall when it was many hours after playing it. Snoopy Tennis was the worst for this but it’s possibly one of the simplest and greatest games I’ve played. It’s very pure.
I really like this new quicker format. I also noticed how much your presentation has improved since other videos. You sound more expressive and when your on screen you have more emotion and it doesn’t look like your reading off of a TelePrompTer.
the amount and the quality of the information thrown at you in her videos, makes one truly regret that you cannot give multiple likes to a video ( either here or on facebook )
The few Nintendo history video's you've produced have been excellent. Long may it continue. Your time spent researching is appreciated for such RU-vid freeloaders!
I do like this format however I wish it was a bit longer but I know you want to keep it entertaining so keep doing what you're doing. Thanks for the video!
Great idea. Exhaustive chronological histories are great, but lovely to have snippets and short gaming stories too. And still lots packed into the video. Keep 'em coming.
This was awesome! I like the bite size info because then it’s easier for me to digest and share with my family, who really humour me since they don’t really play video games.
i like it! more micro histories please. This is my first Kelsey video & it's rare that I become a regular viewer of any channel, but this may become one of them!
Cool idea for the more condensed video game history episodes, Kelsey. You always find interesting details that aren't really highlighted elsewhere. I often find the longer runtimes of other gaming history channels' videos off-putting. I hope it takes off! 😁
I love this series idea! Still enjoy your longer videos but looking forward to more of these bite-sized videos still packed full of awesome info :) I just won an eBay auction for my first Game & Watch ever, it was one my dad had when he was younger, and I’m SO excited to finally get my hands on one!
It was nice to have a more human focused anecdotal video instead of just a list of cold hard facts. I look forward to seeing more of these in the future.
This is great! As much as I like the normal long-form videos, excluding some of the details in service of a more entertaining and story-focused video was a fantastic idea!
Micro series are great for quick viewing. I had a couple of game & watches when I was little (and lived in Japan). I had the Donkey Kong one and a few others. None of them work anymore except for the last 2 we ever bought. Mario Bombs Away and Donkey Kong Jr. Panorama screens.
I actually knew nothing of the game and watch, this was very informative and the history of the d-pad was awesome. Looking forward to more of these. Good job Kelsey.
Kelsey, I love you work! I realise you put countless hours and effort to create these little movies with such polish and zazz! Almost 100k subscribers !!! Wooohooo well done :)
Good video, it's nice sometimes to not have to sit through a 45+ min video on the complete history of whatever just to get to some of the stuff I don't already know.
This is a great idea Kelsey! Please keep this series going, I would love to hear the story of how the Game & Watch influenced Gunpei Yokoi's other great invention: the Game Boy :)
Boom! just sub'd. I love hearing the history behind our favorites things. I have that exact game and watch, Donkey Kong 2. My mother bought it for me when they first came out. I have had it ever sense. I keep the batts out of it so they dont explode and destroy it. I still break it out and play it from time to time. Still my favorite game to this day.
I really enjoyed this. Longer videos are great but sometimes you just need something to pass a couple of minutes. Looking forward to seeing more of these.
Very nice and very interesting video. I also like this compact format. So you can get great informations "on the fly". So i'm looking forward to the next Game History Micro-video :-)
You've really come into your own as a content creator. Really well researched and presented. You are adding value to the community. AndI I'm not just saying this because you were nice when i met you and your boyfriend at your store!
Great stories, always had a weakness for game & watch. One of my earliest memories is playing the 2-player Donkey Kong in the schoolyard with the tiny breakout controllers. Too bad they're so expensive nowadays.
Great idea for a series! I’d say 3-5 fun facts with a little story behind em is all you need and it allows the series to be more regularly continued. I feel like most videos of this sort try to pack 10+ stories in a 5-10 minute video and they’re just rattling shit off like mojo video.
This was really neat. I actually own a game & watch. Donkey Kong II. Found it at a thrift store for .69 No batteries were included but that was only an extra $2. Really good condition too.
Speaking of portables, I played this week, for the first time, the Virtua Boy. I think the console is amazing. VB protection against external light, is soft, big, and better than any VR set I ever tested. The image is very clear and sharp. I thought it could be blurry, but it's not. The sense of 3d is great (played Wario World), great effects. The controller, while visually strange, is very comfortable, responsive, and with good size and quality. I already decided, I'll buy one for my console collection. Already ordered some cartridges, while I start to save money for the console.
