This is actual footage of a full FFA game in the Quake Champions BETA (May 6th). NOTE: I have Bethesda's permission to upload Quake Champions footage. If you are from Bethesda and have a concern, please contact the community manager for Australia.
NDA apparently lifts this weekend though, so get ready for streams!
Also keep in mind this is BETA and things will change.

In Brasil it doesnt exists. Whatever chances they have to increase the fucking "elo", they will use. Just very few players do this.

Which is exactly why I lost it when he said "Choo! Choo!" After I ran over two people with a single charge as Scalebearer. I personally like him overall. I'm sure they will add more over time anyways.

Nice! The one thing that strikes me the most (besides you controling the armor annd especially the Mega Health) is that you are so calm.. You down "vimsy" all around when you shot.. Much to learn, so little time. I hope you will get out some more tutorials out soon.. ^^

When Quake2 came out, the QuakeWorld players hated it. I started with Quake2 and loved it. When Quake3 came out i hated it, but after some time i began to love it and learned to give new games in a series a real chance and often people will change their mind. No game is perfect, but i think Quake Champions has potential and makes tradeoffs that i hope are worth it to make it become popular. There has been no really popular Arena shooter for ages, let's be tolerant towards change!

Well, I think Q3A/QL is pretty much the perfect game ;) ... but that's of course me having fallen in love with Q3A instantly back in the days. Nevertheless I fully second your "let's be tolerant towards changes." I don't know how much I can say, because of the NDA still being somewhat active, hence only so much: At the first beta weekend I was very much, as so many others, feeling "This isn't Quake!" Mainly because it felt different than Q3A/QL, and I did things like I was still playing Q3A, and of course some things just do not work in QC. (But when you see Zy playing it's obvious that general Quake skills -- especially on his level -- perfectly do apply to QC.) During the next weekends I got to like QC more and more ... am I tolerant towards change now? ;)

It's more important to have better minimum FPS in this type of game.

Played the beta on my i7 930, i5 2500k, i7 4970k and my workstations. All with the same gtx 1080 and could it ran 70fps on 3840x1600 on all of my computers. I really see zero value in upgrading any of those cpu's for gaming yet. Only the i5 2500k had longer load times than would have been favourable.

the point is that it still runs the game easily. The minimum requirement for the beta was i3 530, that cpu struggles with almost all modern games these games. It says everything.

Im pretty new to quake and when I play deathmatch I always ranked near bottom or got bodybagged, which makes me rage a lot... But watching a seasoned player like you playing quake is truly a treat to the eye. I feel that quake has a quite long learning curve and frankly that intimidates me a bit.

Nice Gameplay Man)) i think the sound effects for quad damage would be better if they used to original, it had some rage to it... and its cool how you can see the spawn timer for items but i think it would've better if it was like quake 3 arena..

@Zy, Do you think certain video settings give an edge in quake? Most games like CS:GO or Overwatch give huge benefits from not maxing everything out. I can run a stable 170-200 fps on ultra tho but care more about the competitive side than visuals.

RJN: What bindings are you using to handle that contextual weapon switching so well?

IME what matters most is that everything is within reach. Set it up so you can switch to any weapon withing having to move your whole hand and can keep at least one finger on one of the WASD keys as an anchor point so to speak. I personally bind weapons to the cluster of keys surrounding WASD: I find Q, E, R and F the most easily accessible ones, followed closely by X and C but for some reason I always have trouble hitting Z. Some people have a fancy mouse and bind things to its buttons. Whatever works for you, either way the key is to get so used to your particular setup that it becomes muscle memory. The less you have to think about it, the better. The rest is a matter of experience to assess the situation and know what weapon to switch to.

I paid around $1500 just for a new monitor and video card recently and playing this game on ultra at 165fps at 1440P makes it all worth while. Runs like a dream and looks great. Hopefully they can improve the netcode and get rid of any weapon delays (RL) and it will be even better.

hey, awesome videos. Can you talk about champions please? For example, I am having hard time imagining how a character with 75 health and almost no armor can be compared to a character with 150 health and a lot of armor. For example: Scalebearer has 150 hp and 75 armor and 300 speed. Nyx has 75hp, 25 armor and 330 speed. Is 30 speed really that much of a difference?

pavle vivec For example in Q3 I can play against the highest difficulty bots and cheat by setting timescale to 25%. That means everything in the world moves at 25% of normal speed _except for_ my ability to move my mouse around to aim. That should give me a huge advantage over the bots but I often still don't finish in first place because the bots are just so much better than me. Now consider that there are people who can demolish nightmare bots without any cheating.

In addition to the differences mentioned by others, Nyx and other light champions accelerate faster than the heavy champions such as Scalebearer, Sorlag and Clutch.

i recently got a beta code and ive never played a quake game in my life, i get around top 3 in deatchmatch ffa and the reasons are as follows: i have over 1k hours on csgo so my aim is decent, i also play overwatch which made me get used to the abilities really quickly and i also did a shit ton of bunny hopping on csgo so my strafing and movement is on point.

Like I've said in the TDM video, very fun to see you play but we're getting tired of always seeing that overpowered Nyx character. We'd love to see a video from you with all champions as me too I play much better with her than all others. My worst by far was Sorlag before the "heavy updates" and now it is Scalebearer. Among the mediums my fav is Visor so far. I wonder wtf they're waiting to fix the rocket's delay, it's scary they didn't got to do it yet as Quake is all about that and now the LG is a total carnage at almost all range and the delay is so bad with the rocket that you even suicided with it, which I know would have never happened if it was like in QL.
