Damn you Adam, I'm now addicted to watching countless videos of consoles being cleaned, what have you done to me! Must resist more videos....must resist seeing electronics being cleaned...nooo!!!!
Very helpful as always Adam. I'm really enjoying my new hobby of restoring older games consoles. I've had so many that have been sold as faulty but only needed a good clean!! I've now got a saturn on it's way from ebay! thank you. Alison X
Thank you for this I picked up a Saturn today first time ever buying one was £50 boxed wouldn’t power on tho followed your video and managed to get it working again has a video cd card in it too
Actually it was just for the purposes of this shoot. As far as lighting balance goes. it matched better with the white Saturn. Though the black modded Dreamcast is back out there, along with the black Saturn.
Hey Adam. Don't worry about rubbing your logos off the console with the magic eraser. In fact, take them off and use waterside decal print paper and either replace the original logos, or do what I did and make your own custom logos. I changed the logo on my saturn console and the controllers. They look great because they're new.
Interesting video, but I have some suggestions. Try using RadioShack Control Contact Cleaner & Lubricant to give your plastic a nice shine. It works wonders and it lasts and lasts. It will leave a bit of a greasy feeling at first, but just wipe it down with a clean paper towel and you're good to go. It's also a good idea to hit any electrical contacts, like the controller ports, with the contact cleaner. I just spray a tiny amount on a toothbrush and scrub the controller contacts. It's also what you should probably be using on your pins, as it will clean, facilitate electrical contact and lubricate. Also, when I clean my white systems, I use soap and water, but I also give it a second bath in water and bleach. It helps restore a bit of whiteness in cases where there's any yellowing. Luckily, mine is perfect. One question... Why does your power button look like it's sticking out so far? Mine is flush with the top of the console.
