Read the full review: www.gamespot.co... Enslaved is an affecting adventure that makes strong use of its characters and story to create a believable world.
I remember picking this game up a long time ago, having no idea what it was. It ended up being one of my favorite games of all time. The environment is extremely beautiful and the characters are likeable. I would go so far as to say that this is one of the best games ive ever played and sadly it is kinda underrated. My biggest wish is that we will get sequel, but sadly Ninja Theory said a few years ago, that that wont happen. :(
DragONheart27X I'd love to see a PC port of heavenly sword. But I just found out they ported enslaved to PC so I'm enjoying playing through this game again after all these years, especially with better visuals
genetixs apparently hellblade might be a spiritual sequel to heavenly blade and if that rumor is true maybe they might do a spiritual sequel to enslvaed cause let's be honest this game needs a sequel it screams a sequel
This game is awesome! Its totally worth $15-$20 bucks! I loved the story, the graphics and the sound...annoying camera sometimes during combat and too basic combat system were the cons for me, but overall the game is beautiful and deserves to be part of your game collection.
Playing it now & am having a blast(Chapter 5) Definately an oversight on my part. Best 7.99 I spent in a long time. Great voice acting sure does make a BIG difference.
I honestly do not understand how this game didn't sell that well. One of the best narratives I've seen in a long time and the gameplay, minus a few hiccups here and there, never got dull. I wish the ending had a little more to it but that's minor.
I'd never heard of Enslaved before, but just based on how colorful the jacket was and some of the screenshots I took a chance in buying it (for less than $10!). I'm so grateful that I did, because no sooner had I finished my first play through, I was on my second one. It's such a stunning game with a great story and amazing characters. It's well worth buying!
@Clarkerinst - They have the best cutscenes and character expressions in my opinion, they actually seemed like real people. I'm just pissed that this was overlooked at the game of the year awards, it was brilliant.
I knew nothing of this game, so I bought it after the price had gone down a bit, expecting a somewhat cool action game that let's you hammer the SHIT out of robots. I had no idea I would get such an UNUSUALLY great modern-time video game story! I fell in love with both main characters as soon as they properly started to interact with each other. And I totally felt like he describes in this part: 5:43
Already pre-ordered. Great to see it's as good as it looks. I wonder which will end up selling better, Enslaved or Castlevania (since both come out around the same time)? If you could only buy ONE title of the two, which would it be?
Well done review, camera, scripted platforming with tight controls coming from the level design, combat mechanics are the major cons for me, but there are lot of pros so game is definitely worth it!
He reminds me Wolverine...and she does look a lot like HEAVENLY SWORD heroine. This game also reminds that Prince of Persia with cell shading graphics...a little of Assassins Creed 2... Seems very awesome. It also seems to be one of the rare games with a cool plot...like seen in HEAVY RAIN and SILENT HILL. Great review.
@Jericho4444 You would obviously think so, but this is Ninja Theory, who made something as complex and unique as Heavenly Sword. I don't see a hundred enemies to fight here. I don't see a quest for revenge or justice. I don't see a wide variety of combos nor do I see 10 story giants of which the main character doesn't need much platforming.
Wish it didn't take until DMC was announced to notice this game existed. It looks beautiful and amazing. I'm definitely interested. As much as I love the character Nariko and the story, the gameplay of Heavenly Sword just seemed to be too repetitive and wouldn't be much fun. Enslaved on the other hand looks amazing, gameplay and all.
I am really glad to see this game is worth buying, I thought it would bomb just because of all the other AAA titles coming out this month. I want to play!
@TheNavigateur well that maybe, i guess it's what you do with it but i always felt the character models in big unreal engine games were a bit awkward compared to resi 5 for example. I don't enjoy flying from one preperscribed platform to another without any risk of falling. You might as well be navigating a menu page!
glad i'm not alone on overplaying it. I clocked it first time round in 2 sittings of 4 hours and after thinking about it all the next day i started playing it again. It's like a really great movie - it never gets old :) Are you super attracted to Monkey as well? ;)
Havent tried the console versions. Just got the pc version and it runs silk smooth on my i5 3570k and gtx670. Played through 3 chapters so far since yesterday and it feels very cool and promising.
Wow even females take a liking to this game. I'm excited to play this game on my channel for my viewers. I'm actually SUPER pumped since it's based off of Journey to the West, I'm a HUGE Sun Wukong fan! :3
@jubg11 Yes, both Dragonball (the original concept at least) and this game are based off of the same novel, Journey to The West, that's why there are similarities
@apenneukende Uncharted is linear, there aren't numerous ways to get to one area. The developers make a specific way for you to get to a certain area, and many times there are ledges that look like they can be grabbed and seem convenient but actually lead to your death because there is only one specific way.
@woiboi567 No we didn't, because Uncharted has great platforming! This game DOES feels limited, because YOU CAN'T DIE. It takes the excitement away because you know you won't fall.
I really liked the demo it reminded me of the first jak and daxter game, and i really like the characters already. We need more action adventure games now instead of just constant hack 'n' slash games
This is such an epic wonderful game all the way through. Highly recommend to anyone . you will not be dissapointed. GameStop under $10 used.playing this through for the 3rd time its that good seriously.
The uncharted series is very linear, maybe not as linear as Enslaved but still very linear. Having said that, I am a massive fan of the uncharted series because still very fun.
@flabble235 Finally, someone who understands what I've been saying all along. Most last gen people (old people in general or parents) don't understand why games aer so great. They are just simply another form of entertainment, just like movies and tv, only perhaps even better. Like you said, you get to take part in the adventure, which is unlike any other form of entertainment. I would gladly play an awesome video game with a good story than go to the theaters any time.
The game was indeed great.. It was like uncharted but with melee combat.. I enjoyed it the same too if not more.. Games like this, castlevania, darksiders are always underrated and not edvertised as much as shooters.. This has to change or on the future we will have only multiplayer shooters because they sell more than action single player focused games
@TwistedTrainWreck It reminds me of beyond good and evil. Not all first person shooters are mindless and repetitive. Half life 2 is a masterpiece and is brilliantly paced.
@clingmarbleprod I was hoping someone else would feel the same way about it also related to Ico other than the obvious ones. it relates to alot of games apparently which,if anything, is a good thing though.
I hoping there's some dlc in the future, It's one of those games that, you think about while your at work or school. Unstead of doing your work, your thinking about the game.
@SilentmanX3 I agree its a shame that there will be no sequel. I for one really think it descerved it. but it looks like im almost alone in thinking so...
