Gangrel putting Edge and Christian over is the most humbling thing. He deserved a push just because of how much of a "team player" he was.

I remember back in 99’ WWE was at the Allstate arena. Gangrel had one of the loudest cheers, you can see all the camera flashes! The entrance was definitely the best and don’t forget that song. Miss those days

A very humble guy who seemed to know that his time and use was limited. Vince, in his usual douche bag way, didn't want the Brood to succeed. When they did, Vince, in his usual douche bag way, put an end to it. Which is quite surprising because Vince had a cash cow right in front of him and instead of milking it, he slaughtered it.

Ironic, Vince killed the Brood angle because they accidentally got over. But back in the attitude era he could afford to do that ,as damn near everyone was over, whereas now he's gotta be praying for something like that to organically happen again.

I mean he actually got his teeth turned into fangs, that's dedication. Reminds me of when Earthquake got his tattoo of a shark when he became Shark in WCW, then had to get it changed when that tanked. Except Gangrel has kept the fangs, hooray!

One of WWE’s biggest missed opportunities. This guy should have been HUGE. A damn shame they wasted him like they did. Seems like a great dude too. Loved the few shoots that I’ve watched with him.

it always seemed to me that he was the guy of the stable since he had the menacing look, went the extra mile with the fangs, held the chalice and spat blood. He embodied the image of the stable. Competing in singles for ic euro and hardcore. I perceived edge and christian as the pre full fledged vampire fan boy soldiers of gangrel.

Man, the late 90s where the best time for wrestling and many other things.

The entire act of The Brood was truly awesome...no matter how accidental it was according to Gangrel. Vince McMahon didn't like it OR the Gangel character...but Vince also knows what's good for business when it comes to what the fans like. And Vince McMahon clearly failed on keeping the Brood around.

So what did we learn folks? Russo was the creator of the brood, had it not been for him...gangrel and the brood would have never happened.

Glad to be hearing from Gangrel again in 2021 quite surprised he was such a funny and humble guy in real life. Till this day the Brood was probably in my memory one of thee coolest and my favorite entrance of all time other than the Undertaker Prince of Darkness aka Ministry of Darkness.

The Brood still one of the best groups in wrestling. Gangrel as the leader always fit so well.

This remids of when my nephew who was 7 at the time ..had the ultra Tron toy , gangrel was the only action figure we couldn't find, so my aunt & uncle when on there way , town after town til they found it . Just so my nephew can hear his song 💙 play !!! Good times

The weird thing is that no one imagining a vampire would probably think of David.......but in a weird way he looks like a totally different type of vampire in a really cool way.

I had no idea how humble and down to earth Gangrel is. Great attitude, team player, humble, hard working. What else do you want in a professional wrestler?

I think a big reason of Gangrel being cast aside is actually in his name. Remember when you'd play old WWF games and see the copyright/trademark screens and notice that Gangrel was actually owned by White Wolf? I'm guessing that name itself was a kiss of death in its own way because Vince likely wasn't too fond of having to pay any sort of royalty or whatever the deal was.

Best entrance in WWE history, and just a brilliant character...no surprise really that Vince didn't have anything to do with it.

When I was kid, him and undertaker gave me nightmare for years. I miss the ministry of darkness.

Once Taker went biker, Gangrel and Kane could've joined up to still bring that dark factor in the early 2000s. Gangrel should've had a longer run. He's underrated.

As a kid, I thought legit Gangrel, Luna, and the brood we're vampires. I had older brothers born in the 80s and grew up watching lost boys and other cool vampire movies. Great memories. 😎

I just wish we could've got another 1 or 2 more years of Russo running things in the WWF after 99. Slowly fell apart during 2000, even Stone Cold was reduced to the "What?" catchphrase eventually with Stephanie writing it.

I don’t know why they got rid of Gangrel. I loved his character and entrance. One of the coolest ever!

I always liked Gangrel as a person because of his backstage attitude he’s such a nice and humble person. I think that the creation of the Brood as a group was absolutely genius. I think that the fact that the whole ministry of darkness and having the Brood become a part of it was solely the idea of Vince Russo pissed off Vince MacMahan to no end. Vince MacMahan has a gigantic ego that’s one of the thing’s that I have a huge problem with when it comes to Vince MacMahan he will do things just to boost his ego even if it’s to the detriment of his own company. I think that’s why Vince MacMahan fought so hard to destroy the ministry of darkness and the Brood because it was the creation of Vince Russo. I think the fact that Vince Russo was the creator of WCW the arch nemesis of WWE for so long and the fact that he came into WWE and created something so genius and so successful was a huge shot at Vince MacMahan and his ego. I think it really shows what a good person Gangrel is that he was willing to step aside and push Edge into superstardom even with Vince MacMahan trying to destroy him at every turn just because of his god complex is really admirable. I think that some of the credit for The Broods success lasting for so long even with Vince MacMahan desperately trying to destroy it was because of the Undertaker. I think Mark saw what we all saw and really wanted to see it take shape. I also think that Mark liked Gangrel as a person and really wanted to help launch his career. I think that it’s a damn shame Vince MacMahan destroyed it just because it was the idea of Vince Russo and that really hurt the gigantic ego of his.

I would have loved to see Gangrel come back and team with Kevin Thorn and Ariel.

Es curioso pero yo no veo a una persona en gangrel de 50 años de edad, si no alguien de 55 a 60. Ha sucedido que luchadores de mas edad han tenido oportunidad de luchar aprovechando que aun por un relativo tiempo tienen una conducion plena pero con proxima decadencia como lo fue boogeyman que debuto casi con 40 años de edad. Segun se sabe gangrel tuvo problemas de peso propios de una edad cercana a los 40 cuando concluye su contrato sin renovacion con wwe. Se sabe igualmente quevel luchador debuto desde mediados de los 80. No era un novato. Si no un luchador de larga trayectoria cuando llego a wwe.

I really do not understand! Gangrel is really very cool in his image and technical as a wrestler! His musical theme is one of the best, very atmospheric, films about Blade immediately come to mind!) And what a gorgeous gait and smile he has! Why did they allow such mystical characters as Kane, Undertaker, Papa Shango, well, or the Fiend for example !!! But terribly underestimated the image of the vampire Gangrel! It's so stupid.... It's a pity that such idiots were in the WWF.... Although these same idiots are still sitting in the WWE. It is sad. And yes, to be honest, I was a huge wrestling fan in the early 10's, but hadn't heard of the Gangrel, and only found out about him a few days ago when I was rewatching classic WWF matches! And to be honest, during these couple of days I liked Gangrel much more than Randy Orton, I didn’t like him!! 🤣 Yeah...sad.
