​@Hussman493 Sword of the Six Sages. It was only renamed to Dusk Claymore in TOTK to keep the Twilight Princess weapons differentiated from TOTK's narrative, especially since newer players would most likely be confused why a sword named after the Sages has nothing to do with the main story.

I loved both Windwaker and Twilight Princess's final battles with Ganondorf for their own reasons, and I love comparing the two because they have opposing paces and teach opposing lessons, yet they both equally well. Windwaker's final battle was a fast-paced climax, emphasized by Ganon's dual-wielded blades, his frequent dashes and jumps, an epic fast-paced soundtrack, and a flooding kingdom in the background. This creates a sense of urgency in the moment; time is of the essence, and you must finish this fight ASAP. The key to winning is constant engagement. Punishment comes primarily from minimal action in the form of a flurry of attacks that add up to become devastating. Reward comes from being on the offensive, as your constant engagement allows Zelda's arrows to create openings with her light arrows. Twilight Princess's final battle is the exact opposite. Instead of a sense of urgency, it is more so a test of patience. This is showcased by Ganon's comparatively slower movements and attack rate, a slow-paced (but no less epic) soundtrack, and a barren environment with almost nothing going on to tell you to keep your focus on the here and now. In the few moments Ganon does make a quick movement, it is to approach, evade or counter. Ganon even taunts Link sometimes, trying to bait you into a reckless attack, so he can grab the counter. The key to winning this battle is patience and observance of openings. Punishment comes from impulse and recklessness, in the form of devastating counterattacks. Reward comes from staying on the defensive; letting your opponent attack first, then meeting him with a counterattack.

TotK Ganondorf would like a word, once one of us gets to him. I wanna loose that fight when it comes. It'd be the best feeling.

I'm really hoping we get this in Tears of the Kingdom. Ganon in Botw just felt like a souped up Guardian, then the actual Beast portion wasn't even really a battle. I was hoping after you beat his spider form, he would take on the shadowy form of Demise and you have to fight him blade-to-blade. With Ganondorf himself returning, fingers crossed.

And yet its the easiest fight in the entire game

I always liked that he uses the sword that they tried to kill him with. The fact that it's a beautiful holy blade and contrasts with him completely. It's the Sage's sword.

I love the dynamicity of TP's boss tracks! There's emphasis on lower brass, dissonant chords and unusual meter to emphasize moments of dread and shift to emphasis on high strings, major chords and a call-and-response pattern to emphasize the moments of hope!

You can sense the superior Zelda game just by the perfect use of its soundtrack alone. Maybe gameplay and graphics-wise, this game has aged. But the atmosphere and themeing choice, dungeon design, the carefully-curated soundtrack, story pacing and character writing in TP is still the finest and deepest red of wine 🍷

He certainly is. Doing some math with the statues and balance scales in the Temple of Time, with the assumption that Link and his visible equipment would weigh 200lbs, it can be determined that the iron boots weight at least 450lbs each. Since the magnetic surfaces in Goron Mines can suspend the weight of Link and both boots upside down while he's walking, it can be determined that those surfaces hold one iron boot with the force of 1,100lbs (Link + Boots). Link can still lift the boots while upright on a magnetic surface, which means he can lift each leg up with at least 1,550lbs of force (strength of magnetic attraction + one boot) and he can push down with at least 450 lbs of force (pushing against gravity when walking upside down).

I agree, but I think the reason why this Ganon was slow bc, from this point Ganon is pretty old and passed his prime, if this is the Ganon from Ocarina of Time in his prime he could be a lot faster than how he is in this one.

Also getting hit by light arrows tends to slow one down a bit.

it made the fight much more intense, i loved the speed tbh. the last showdown felt good not being rushed and made for the dramatics a bit more.

I only played it in English but god, Matt Mercer just cannot do a fitting Ganondorf voice.

I always pictured Ganondorf having a deeper voice, something like James Earl Jones. I'm sure Matt Mercer is a good voice actor but he just sounds a bit too high pitched for me.

@@Agent-yw1kj When Ganondorf was all shriveled up in his mummy form in the intro to the game, his voice actually sounded perfect. It was when he was fully rejuvenated in his standard form when I actually began to cringe at the voice acting

Ganondorf’s design in this game is my favorite for him. It’s nostalgic first of all. Secondly, I love his armor. He looks ready to wage a war on Hyrule. If you saw that figure slowly walking towards you down the street, you’d probably run as fast as you can. Lastly, I think he really rocks the beard.

​@@negligible_reality That was honestly an unnecessarily brutal moment for that game. Especially since Ganondorf was still alive for a few seconds.

Fun thing: we *kinda* do? It's more a multi weapon one on one for the first few stages where, if you look closely, he uses OUR fighting style against us for each weapon he switches through. Sane moveset, just with pauses like a typical boss.

You can’t hurt Ganondorf with the Ordon Sword. Like you literally can’t even touch him, it just goes through him. There isn’t even a prompt to finish him if he’s on the ground if you switch to the Ordon Sword.

Ahh, but you can do the Finish prompt while using the Master Sword and then switch to the Ordon Sword during the first few frames in the air. In the same way, you can equip the Iron Boots midair and end the fight with them on - making you wear them for the final cutscene (with all the noises that entails while running lmao).
