This whole game houses feats that make me question why Death Battle thought that Dracula even stood a chance against Ganon let alone beat him and it's just one game there are other points that show Ganon to be even more powerful
When I was a pre-teen, I thought the area with the final face-off with Ganondorf was like a giant water fountain statue with the sea water falling like waterfalls with rain and the roof floor of the tower tower looked like a whirlpool statue.
Probably my favorite incarnation of Ganondorf because just like Link, he’s been given a lot more personality than just “i’m evil and i want hyrule heh heh heh”. This Ganondorf had a lot more time to reflect on what he did. He got a bit more backstory. He even refused to kill Link and Zelda as he only needed their triforce pieces. And after his wish was stolen, he had nothing left to lose. He knew that he was going to die. So in a last ditch effort he tries to take Link and Zelda with him.
Exactly! I couldnt agree more with you! Its like he knows that link and zelda are there, so he knows he will lose. Although I still Wonder why he didn’t try to kill zelda when he straight up slappes her
@@bogi2557 Even though he's snapped, I don't think he sees any sport in just killing her. He's angry, he wants an actual fight out of it. Same reason he slowly draws his swords, slowly stalks towards Link at first rather than just rushing him like he did for the Triforce piece. He wants to take his time.
This battle surprised me a lot because it actually made Ganondorf seem human. Like when he talks about coveting the wind and his childhood and all that, it was like, "Wow! This guy isn't just the lord of all evil now. He's got emotions."
Are we forgetting that he killed the 2 sages that gave the Master Sword its power, and that he kidnapped innocent children to find the Triforce of Wisdom?
@@AkameGaKillfan777 well, yes he did. However, those were "necessary" acts to further his plan. Obviously, if the sages are powering the Master Sword, then Ganondorf is at the mercy of a blade that has defeated him before in OoT, and he's not going to let that stand. As for the children, sure, you could argue that he could just release them, but 1. I believe he feeds them to Helmaroc, which is likely how he keeps a leash on it, and 2. secrecy is important to him. If these random girls were constantly getting snatched up and dropped off, Helmarocs travel time would likely make it easier to trace to the fortress, never mind that the captives would have seen the defenses and, hypothetically, be able to plan around them. Yes, Ganondorf could move around the defenses of his Moblin patrols, but the searchlights are pretty set in stone. Not to mention, if he were to shuffle patrols for every girl, then he would spend more time reorganizing the defense of his fortress than actually pursuing the Triforce. As seen with Link and Zelda, Ganondorf clearly no longer derides pleasure from killing, and only does so in instances of the greatest importance or to maintain his weakened presence in the world. When Ganondorf snaps at the end of the game, that is his reawakening of his sadism because there is nothing left for him to do before he dies anyway, so may as well indulge in some good old fashioned blood sport.
Yeah, this whole battle at the end was nothing more than a temper tantrum. I mean, Ganondorf already failed at this point, thanks to Daphnes a short moment ago; what did he have to gain from defeating Link in terms of his goal, other than "if I die, I'm taking you with me!"?
@@macnamaryb7773 There's nothing that states he feeds the kids to the Helmaroc... rather, there are three kids in the cage when the player arrives, one of them being Aryll. It seems that upon discovering that the kids were not Zelda, he didn't return them, but kept them alive and unharmed.
“This is foolishness...a future? For you?” “Very well, then...allow me to show you...your future...yes...allow me to show you...just what hope you have...” *”...see how much your precious Triforce is worth!”* When everything is taken from him, Ganondorf truly gives into the hatred pierced into his heart by Demise’s curse. All he has left is the belief he can take the current incarnations of the Hero and the Goddess with him.
My county lay within a vast desert. When the Sun rose into the sky, a burning wind punished my lands, searing the world. And when the moon climbed into the dark of night a frigid Gale pierced our homes. No matter when it came, the wind carried the same thing. . . Death. But the winds that blew across the green fields of Hyrule brought something other than suffering and ruin. I coveted that wind I suppose.
The picture is designed to make Ganon look more intimidatingly huge. In almost every single Zelda game, Ganondorf is almost exactly two to three times Links height. And Link has never been taller than Ganon, that much is for sure.
I'm sure that's to emphasize he is the wielder of the Triforce of Power, and having an intimidating stature symbolizes power. While Link, wielder of the Triforce of Courage, has the bravery to challenge such a foe. And, well, Zelda is Wisdom because she chooses to stay back and fire arrows, I guess.
@@thesardonicrenegade3065 taller than Shao Kahn from MK, General Grievous from the dead franchise known as Star Wars, Thanos from the Marvel comics, Dracula from Castlevania, Darth Vader, and and taller than Brainiac and maybe Darkseid
@@block.7475 I feel like Ganondorf TP theme is only great when you fight him, not when you listen to it outside of the game. WW Ganondorf’s theme is better in that aspect. TP’s Melody isn’t very clear also, I’m not a big fan of TP’s final boss themes, I like battles themselves and the atmosphere but I prefer other final battle music like WW.
Bro, at 5 years old i see my borther playing twilight princess and in the final battle, when he stabed the master sword i feel the same thing, i never played this but i want to do it like skyward sword
The spectacle of this boss fight is arguably the best in the Zelda series. This ancient conflict is about to come to an end, your fighting this ancient enemy who now has nothing left to lose, with hyrule being flooded forever with torrential rains falling all around you, the story of ancient hyrule is about to be closed forever, with the death of the king, ganondorf and even the master sword. This boss fight and theme always gives me goosebumps
It's pretty ciminatic how in the end everything regarding hyrule, the goddesses, the surrounding areas, the sages, the prophecy and future for the triforce, and the main bond between the three people we have known for how long finally be washed away (pun intended) and a new era for the timeline emerged afterwords. And ganondorf is just trying to hold on to the legend of hyrule but in the end everything including the master sword, hyrulean shield, the land of hyrule as we know it. None of it comes back. Not even the master sword. It's forever bound to the ocean.
@@Rohgamu It was. After this, Link and Tetra go on to establish a New Kingdom, which went on to be known as "New Hyrule." Lol, I really feel like Spirit Tracks didn't end up being what it should've been. I hate the concept of trains in the way they portrayed them in this game.
This is excellent writing. Before the battle, Ganondorf says all the wind brings is death, and right when he dies... he can feel the wind... coming for him
What makes this fight so intense is the stakes. With the other Ganon/Ganondorf fights it’s always the fate of Hyrule or the world is in the balance, but in the game, Hyrule is already gone. So instead of Link fighting Ganondorf to save Hyrule, Link is fighting him to save your own life. He’s done with everything, he’s practically given up on life, and if he’s going out, he’s going to take Link and Zelda with him as well. That’s what makes this battle so great.
DittoMaster6 I didn't either...but like I read here in the coments...It's those people's own fault to get hit by Zelda :D If they stand in front of her (between Ganondorf and her) and you put your shield up towards Ganondorf and she shoots in Ganondorfs direction....and you are standing right with your back too that arrow...it's those people's own fault :D
i find it symbolic how most Zelda final bosses are easy. it shows how strong link has become over the coarse of his adventure. i think that's what the programmers had in mind. but the final boss deals big damage to show that their no push over either.
I did feel that way with Skyward Sword. Link felt really determined and confident in front of Demise, and so ultimately I was too. The fight was technically easy because of how strong we are at this point, but Demise could still deal tons of damage. It felt just a little bit too short unfortunately, but well.
Lauchlin Yurchuk the Demise battle was actually really hard. I remember walking into thinking it'd be no different than your average Ganondorf battle and then getting my ass handed to me.
*gets the master sword through the skull*"Fuck...Y-YOU......LIIIIIIIINNNNNNKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!"*turns to a stone statue*Me playing the ending of wind waker: "GAAAAAAANOOONNNNDOOOOORRRFFFF NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!"
Probably my favorite battle with ganondorf. Why? For once, he's both strong as hell AND nimble. It gives me the impression he was actually fighting with his all, and honestly was probably one of the more challenging versions to date for it.
this is why ganondorf is one of my favorite villains. He always has epic boss battles and music to go along with it. We have had other challenging ganons before too, this one being one of them and him transforming into puppet ganon. First his beast form, and here they show how ganondorf is a master in hand to hand combat. Wind waker did a great job making ganondorf challenging
i loved that about him but more than anything else i loved the look into his more human self in the battle. for once we got to understand his reasons. to know we aren't just facing a veritable 'dragon' from a fairytale stealing the treasures and lives of the people. we aren't fighting a dragon. we're fighting a man. a man who was fed up, fed up with the hylian rulers sleeping in their warm cozy beds every night as his people froze to death in the night, as they seered in the inferno of a sun in the day, and coward from the wild life boaring the very earth below them.
Kick The Kitsune the ganon in tp wasnt even really ganon anymare, he was mostly the demon by then. he even lost control of his beast self at one point. really i preferred Zant. he seemed so cold and calculating and then you find he'sd just some spoiled child whining about broken toys. a lunatic, a sociopath, a mindless drone acting on hate.
This is the first Zelda game to have an emotionally charming shopkeeper who goes *OHHHHH!* everytime you walk in and speak to him, making most people grin or giggle. It's also the first game where Link fucking piledrives the Master Sword in the King of Evil's head. Sure, he did it in Ocarina of Time, but this time it felt like there was more weight to it than just a few noodley slashes and a little poke.
I love how scary ganondorf is, like whenever I hear his music and see him I can’t help but feel like he’s towering over me and swinging two blades with absolute accuracy and mastery.
The battle music combined with the image in the video is just so epic to me. The three main characters that play the key role in all the legends of old, facing each other one more time while the mythical kingdom of Hyrule with all its legend and history gets washed away forever
I was a teen when I first played the Wind Waker. The final boss music is epic and so is the background scenery with Hyrule Flooding. The fighting was a cake walk whilst Princess Zelda was knocked out but as soon as she awakened and fired arrows at me that’s when my heart meter dropped dangerously low haha
This song really hit me hard when I facing Ganon. The theme really tells of the past dying. Even if you lost, Hyrule was still going to die. You then thought to yourself. "Oh my god, this is the true end. Should I push on and leave to fight on, or should I die along with the tradition." It's a great theme and for all you thinking Ganon is fat in this. He leaps like half of the battle arena. You think a fat guy can do that? And bear in mind, he looks big cause Link is just a kid.
Ganondorf laughed because the idea of using the Triforce to wish for hope and a future for the next generation, as opposed to using it to dominate the world, seemed absurd to him.
My favorite Ganondorf battle. He casts aside any pretense of magical combat in favor of two swords which he uses in an awesome fighting style. Then he changes up his blocking patterns at several points throughout the battle to counter what you're doing to hit him. No energy tennis, no pomp and circumstance...just an angry Gerudo demigod taking out his frustration on his nemesis. ...Zelda, please...if I can't see you, I can't tell when you're about to shoot an arrow. Wait until we're both in position!
What a shame that this final battle was so easy, but I like that it was made easy deliberately (in my opinion) given 1) the moderately difficult battle before this and 2) Ganondorf knew he was fucked and basically attacked in a blind rage, causing any strategy to go flying out the window, making this an easy fight for Link and Zelda. Good storytelling, I hope to see the same in Zelda WiiU.
+Ashmanns I actually felt this battle was the only final battle against Ganondorf that actually was a challenge, he was a joke in OoT and TP, but in this one he was a bad ass and I always get my ass kicked in it.
+Ashmanns Agree. After the brutal battle with Puppet Ganon, especially in snake form, it would've been too much to have Ganondorf be equally rough, it would be pointless to return and stock up if it's the final battle in the game
i think one of the really cool things about this fight is that, within the limits of the game engine, it really looks like Ganondorf is parrying your attacks
Ahhh. Reminds me of how much of a traitor Zelda was to me. Shot me in the back of the head several times during the fight. Lost all my fairies as a result and died ._.
Zeno Izukia Also reminds me of how BS it was, why was it the Light Arrows suddenly became Electric when they hit you?! And yep, I took easily more arrows to the face from her crapshoot skills than Ganondorf ever did XP
Zeno Izukia Well, your fault o.O Why do you stand in front of her when she shoots? That's dumb ._. Sorry to say this but until right now I didn't even know it was possible to get damage from her. And I played this game often :D
One of the best final boss fights ever. A sword fight against a man who gives everything to prevent a wish, around a circular floor fulling of water slowly. That's pretty awesome!
Ocarina of Time's final battle is still my favorite for its epic, cinematic, and mythological scale and style, but Wind Waker comes in a very close second (with all the other final battles trailing by a fairly wide margin). This is the most personal the conflict between Link and Ganondorf has ever been, given it was kicked off by Ganondorf sending his pet Helmaroc King to kidnap Tetra and Link's sister and then he personally confronts Ganondorf over it at the Forsaken Fortress. Now with water raining from above, drowning the land Ganondorf had coveted, you can feel the intense and bitter venom of a battle with a man that has lost everything he has sought to obtain. It also ends in one of the most spectacular final blows of the series, a plunging-from-above stab right to the head.
The best fight in the game, second best track in my opinion. This guy literally fights you underwater as the water constantly falls in a barrier around you as you try to deflect arrows of the very gods themselves at them. The music really sets the tone of the fight too, (what not 2:58-3:22) but TBOTW just steps on it...**sigh**
Question for people: when you think of Ganondorf and fighting him, which of his many battle themes is the first one to come to your head? For me, it's always the final battle from Twilight Princess. It wasn't the first Zelda game I played, I've done a lot of them and heard their themes before I played TP, but for some reason if Ganondorf is brought up, it's ALWAYS that one I think of first (followed by the Ganon fight from OoT)
What do you expect, he is evil, of course he would punch a little girl! Plus thats the least he could do to her considering the fact he is swinging 2 big-ass swords at Link trying to slice him in half!
At least he had the decency to put his sword away, he could have decapitated her in a single slash, knowing how fucking useless and fragile Zelda actually is.
The way he shouts as he swings his swords at you... This man has gone off the rails, and when I was younger it was the only boss who actually intimidated me
Definitely fits. You can still hear echoes of the Ganon we all know, but it's more desperate, more fast-paced, and way more aggressive. He knows full well he's lost, and at this point he just wants to drag you all down to the depths with him. Nothing is scarier nor more dangerous than one who has lost everything. Also can I just say how annoying it is to land the parry attack from his jumping slash? You've got to be deliberately far away from him or your roll will carry you right past him for some reason.
when i 1st played this game, it took me awhile to beat Ganondorf, i had no idea u were sposed to do a parry attack after reflecting a light arrow off ur shield, i jus kept slicing assuming he'd run outta health or something eventually
Hope they'll release you in HD on the 3DS too! You're my favorite video game hero of all time! (2nd is Mario and 3rd is Sonic) I'm a huge Zelda fan since I played Phantom Hourglass, which was my first Zelda game. You're definitely the coolest Link in the series!!!
I love how the 'biggest' Ganon was the hardest, most epic Ganon battle in the series :D I was so happy for an actual sword fight, no flying, magical energy attacks... Epic.
This is my childhood. I remember being a little kid and watching my dad play all of the TLOZ games. I remember this fight was one of my favorites and one of the most surprising to me at the time. Even at a young age I was amazed by the soundtrack of all Zelda games and I remember the theme of this battle always gave me chills, goosebumps. I pretty much never played with my dad again after my parents divorced, but the love for Zelda games has remained until now that I'm almost 25.
"But it's Ganondorf! When are we going to see Ganondorf again?!" I think that Game Grumps has run its course and that they need to move on to other projects, but they have their moments.
I love this art piece I’m so curious as to where it came from. Perhaps it’s fan made I’m not sure, anyways, a great final boss theme for my favorite game of all time!!
+Darkai Sixta To be fair though, Hero Mode is a good first step and the Ganondorf Amiibo+HM in TP HD is a good second step. I'm thinking Breath of the Wild's healing and weapon+shield durability can be taken as a third since one can no longer just go to a store to heal or use weapons and shields haphazardly.
It went pretty good! There's a lot of land to walk and run around at. Tetra even considered building a castle, too. I do miss Outset Isle, along with my friends, Aryll, and Grandma, too...
Zelda: "Ready? I'll aim for your Shield!" Gets Hit. Zelda Misses Twice Gets Hit Hits are my shield and misses Zelda Misses Three Times Me "Zelda, this would be over if I was the one using the bow."
I still haven't played Wind Waker, but this theme is just plain badass, shows how much this game must be good, I definitely want a Gamecube for my birthday, for this and Twilight Princess :3
