Much respect on a great video. I have plenty of other elements to tackle, but your video definitely saved me HOURS on doing the basics the “right way”. Thanks for sharing your learning curve with us!
Nice job on the video! Good description of the mechanics that make it work. Some people omit that and I'm like - What, but How? Looking to build one with and for my brother but outdoor from a cement patio slab through a 2nd floor deck so need to make weather resistant but this helps with the mechanics. Thanks for sharing.
Hate to be that douche on the internet but........ here we go, you should never ever reverse the wire rope clips used on your lift's cables. You always want to place the "live" working cable in the saddle portion and the "dead" end against the u-bolt portion of the clip. The old rule of thumb is "never saddle a dead horse". I felt compelled to tell you as you may move on to bigger/heavier projects where this rigging practice would prove to be very dangerous. Great video nonetheless, can't wait to put one in my garage! www.fdlake.com/wrclips.html
