My garage door bracket pulled out of the garage door. This video shows how I was able to fix it. Here is the bracket that I purchased from Home Depot: www.homedepot.com/p/Clopay-21...
Same thing happened to me last night and your video saved the day! Quick zip over to Home Depot and everything was good to go in about 30 mins. Thank you!
What I would recommend is disengaging the garage door from the opener and I would see how heavy the door is because when I noticed the garage door opening the belt had a lot of slack so what I would recommend is seeing how have your door is if your doors way too heavy I would recommend calling someone but if you know how to do it adjust the springs on the door and then tighten up the belt a little bit so it’s not as loose and then I would adjust the door arm one hole up and then adjust the limit on the side of the opener
Nice. That's the right part, installed pretty well, I'd probably have 2 screws top and 2 bottom, that's just me. Sounds like that's your plan anyway. However, you made it hard on yourself just to avoid adjusting the door opener limits. Just my opinion, but I would treat replacing that bracket as starting from scratch. 1) bolt on the bracket. 2) with the trolley disconnected, set the proper J arm angle(it's in the manual) 3) set the opener limits (also in the manual) and force settings. And, of course, test the safety reversing system, etc., etc., et. al. ;) O, and one thing for any door repair, which really should go at the top, check the door balance and general door condition. Sometimes failures are due to a problem with the door. In this case, if that's a heavy door, the installer messed up and should have had that vertical brace in there from the start.
I just removed the wood screws holding the bracket and then holes all the through the door and mounted the bracket with four bolts and nuts. Never break again.
