The same thing happened to an old gx9000 i used to have because it kept having LOTS of problems so we replaced it with a 8165 and the isl950/a is still in good shape because I’m in a double garage door house.
He did a pretty good job I am not gonna lie I’m really impressed how we did the emergency release rope and handle correctly I don’t see garage door installers do that well anymore some people just do it for the money you do not care about their work and if you want to you can burn the end of the rope so doesn’t fray at the end and get the emergency release handle nice and straight
@@TBHD724 really? cause in the beginning it was loud then the sec time it was quieter then the third time it was loud again how come the 1st 2 times it was openeing and closing and the third it wouldn't close
Really? Cause I have a 8500 and it broke and we can’t get the 8550 or 8587 or those ones cause the ceiling is blocked off by cabinets so we need a wall mount but I will see if we can make a whole and get a better opener and why is the 8500w bad I want to know your opinion
If you need a jackshaft opener I would very, very, very strongly suggest the genie 6170H-B. Chamberlain is starting to become cheap on the way they make their openers. They are having lots of issues with bad logic boards, travel modules, you name it. And with the stupid cable tension monitor the 8500w needs theres even more problems. If you get a chamberlain or liftmaster, believe me you will be really disappointed. The new genie jackshaft does not require a cable tension monitor, has a faster lock, wireless control panel, and is just in general much better then the 8500W.
@@sambell385 this one isn't junky, the really new ones have been having lots of electronic problems. This was put up before that started. I've had this 8365 for 4 years without problems
@@camerongizer2588 right now the only liftmaster opener I really trust is the 8160WB. It's a great quiet budget opener. Liftmaster has their good openers, but they are mostly everything from 1st gen MyQ openers and backwards. If the 8550 on the big door dies, I will likely find a 315MHZ opener, the ones I would want to use would be 3265, 3240, 3280, 3585, 3595, 3840, 3850, or 3800.
@@TBHD724 interesting my grandma has that opener and its so loud and I always thought your favorite was liftmaster belt drives and I had a 8550 and it was so quiet and it worked awesome but then we got a 8500 it had so many problems when the 8500w came out i watched youtube videos on it and so many people said its awesome thanks for the suggestion
