Another big step forward in filling out the new garage...we finally have some proper garage door openers in place! My statement about "burning out the motor" over at the old garage was not correct. Only the start/run capacitor was damaged. The old garage door opener continued to work for more than ten years after that, and was only taken out of service when a little plastic part broke.
Shortly after that old garage door opener broke, Furhead and the Keykeeper were playing "car thief" with a golf cart and they crashed it into the old garage door.

I find it strange how popular and commented on this video has become. Still, if people actually do enjoy it, who am I to judge? I don't know what's going on with the RU-vid algorithm. As of late, it's been recommending unhinged conspiracy theory and political talk videos to me! I continue to tell it I'm not interested (or "don't recommend channel") and still they come. Nobody around here is watching such things. Most recently, it has started to recommend trucking videos.

When i was little, driving up to a garage well the door opened was like docking with a space station. I was beginning to wounder about the progress of the garage.

It's amazing how Sears has kept the designs of these openers for so long. The Liftmaster 1/3hp I have is almost exactly like yours and is from 2001.

these openers were not by sears they were manufactured by chamberlain which is a division of liftmaster

@uxwbill I understand, and that's how most automobile security alarm keyless entry systems work too, I seem to remember reading something about that in the user's guide for a car our family used to have. The process of 'pairing' the remotes you speak of reminds me of synchronising a Nintendo Wii remote with the Wii console, but that's got nothing to do with remote controlled garage doors.

@uxwbill Makes sense, I haven't researched anything about them in a long time. Our two Genie openers are about 12 years old now and still going strong! Although a bit noisier than when new.

At least that Buick seems to be running better then that Pontiac I drove! Those rolling code openers were always a PITA to program with the HomeLink feature in cars.

we have a similar system here at the house, but i don't think our keypad does the other door, or at least it's not setup for it.

@uxwbill OK, I'm beginning to understand. So you can 'synchronise' a remote to each door opener without 'deleting' synch with the other door openers if you follow my meaning. I take it the keypad outside the garage is hard wired to the door openers.

Hi I first watched this garage door video about 7 years ago and I'm so impressed it's still on here and that this account is still active.. quite a few have been forgotten or the users have been blocked out of them or something.. how is that sedan car outside the garage. Still got it? It will be a classic by now

Idea for you, you should put a switch at each side door for all 3 doors, say if you need to do work in the far bay, and you come in the door by the main house, and the other way around to. Can't kill a 3800!

Nice equipment + very tidily fitted. What's the light for on the unit, is it a courtesy light for when the door is opened? Is there some sort of manual system to use in the event of a power failure? Do they have any sensors to prevent them closing if something/somebody is standing in the way?

The first one opening is like mine after you close it and let it sit for 5 minutes. I don’t know why it does that. I’ll have to look into it. It’s a legacy 696.

I've not seen many if any garage door openers that have a security alarm type keypad where you enter a code to open the doors from the outside. Can you change the code for the panel should you need to in the future? Here at the apartment where I live we have a remote controlled gate for the undercover car park and the remotes are coded, to change the code you need to flip some dip switches under the battery, do your remotes work in the same way?

The horse power dosnt really matter for the door size. It can be any speed for any size door but they only come in 1/2, 1/3, 3/4 for Chamberlain openers. I think genie has some other different speeds like the too fast exelorator.

1/5 HP hasn't been offered for a few decades and chamberlain discontinued 1/4 HP in the early 2000's. Linear is the only company still offering 1/3 HP. the 1345 was the last 1/3 HP from Liftmaster

@@TBHD724 to answer your question yes it was the 3245 they also made a chamberlain version of it but it’s shaped like a 1345 and the model of the chamberlain version is hd150d

Be live it or not I have a device that can pick up the codes from your remote control I got it from a guy who made MSR skimmers . I was working for NCR and that guy actually went around and showed folks how folks get ripped off . HE was giving all the NCR guys in are area about how it was done and he gave away 1 of each at drawing . I won a garage door skimmer. I tried it just last week and it still works.

Do each of those door openers have their own receivers that you must synchronise each remote controller with, or is there a single receiver that controls all 3 openers only needing the remote to be synchronised to one receiver? Where's the receiver located?

very nice and smooth door openers and good to see the buick running but what about the caddillac?????don't tell me it's been forgotten!!! I normally don't make requests but I would love to see that caddy fired up when you get a chance and a detailed walk around showing all features etc. that is if your able to..great video

I have a keychain remote just like that, except its white, and opens the 2 apartment center gates and an optional garage. Not sure if you could program that to work your doors, guess it depends on where it came from and how it is set up.

Love the doors, very smart!!! Would love to pull up in my car and have a system like that. Would of loved to see the installation but hay if the guy didnt want to be film'ed you have to respect that never mined. Chamberlain openers are supposed to be the best I think. We have a Liftmaster (made by them) and its been great.

Well we just had to get a new garage door opening for my mom side of the garage. Because the old one that is actually two years older then our house is. The original ones that is still on my dads side of garage. That original one is from 2006 but our house was built in 2008. Well the one or my moms side was dying.

Very nice. If you want, you can go online and order 3 more Chamberlain wall push buttons, part 41A4166. This way you have a complete set of buttons at each door, and you don't have to go to both sides of the garage do open the doors. Just use some 2-conductor bell wire or alike, and wire them in as they already are. :-) any questions, let me know.

Something like this happened to me when I was about the same age! I was hanging out with a couple of buddies at their place and they thought it was a good idea to grab on to the door and hang on as it rose up, and they had Wayne-Dalton iDrive openers... They ended up doing the same thing, burning out the opener, and when we noticed, I ran and hid but my buddy and his brother got caught in the act by their dad who's a real Mr. Handyman! Their dad got so mad, his face turned bright red (TBC above)

cool you have a microwave in your shed too. :D dose it like light bulbs? my LG loves them. cool automatic doors bud sorry to say i have never liked that type of door opener but they may be batter than the plastic crap we have hear. your doors look and work nice tho. i wished i had your shed. its much nicer and bigger than my one and i live out hear.ROFLMFAO! i have a/c and more light tho. :D.

I cannot tell you how many times our three year old has watched this video. MANY! He loves garage doors and this is his favorite video to watch. He had made uxwbill a household name around here! :) He wanted to make a video for you, of his favorite thing garage door openers do when something disrupts the sensor beam. (Cont.) I swear, he had smoke coming out of his ears and steam coming off the top of his head! He looked like he was about to explode!!! He gave both boys a swift kick to the a**, then simmered down a bit. the boys' mom hears their screams and comes out and asks whats's going on, and the boy's dad says nothing except, "Goin' to Lowe's!!!" He then got in his Silverado, drove off, and when he came back he immediately went to installing the new opener (also aniDrive) and nothing ever happened to me
