LiftMaster 8365 Openers and Clopay Garage Doors. Another Run. 

I have heard about that. I did see one video where a greased AC motor screw drive did quiet it down a good amount. I do hear that screw drives do require more maintenance than chain drives and belt drives. Only thing I know about the chain drives is you need to make sure the nylon gears inside the opener are greased every few years. I'm keeping watch on that.

Sharkie626 Oh this situation was way worse, my Samsung Galaxy Express Prime 2 ended up getting bent very badly. Thankfully my brother got himself a new phone and gave me his Samsung Galaxy Express 3.

That short? 8 feet is on the taller side for residential doors! The ceiling would have ended up being even taller if the original slab and driveway were not risen higher during construction!

Not really. Our previous house has had Clopay for 15 years now. Never a problem. I’m glad we have those springs. Much easier to service when the time comes.

@@Sharkie626 well its great that you haven't had any problems with clopay but my 22 years experience installing doors tells me to stay away from "the k-mart" of garage doors. Also extension Springs have a shorter life cycle than torsion and they also can't counterbalance your door which means your door goes through more stress.

Our previous house had a single door, and double door. Each one had each spring type. The torsion springs lasted only maybe a few months more than the extensions, that’s not much to go on. And the extensions were much easier, as well as cheaper to do, as I did it myself. How do they not counterbalance the door? Sure, they’re more independent, but it’s not hard at all to set them both correctly. When the other house had its original doors, they were both extension. And there were never issues with it being out of balance.

Ahh okay so that's probably not it. It does seem like it's one of the stationary pulleys as the sound doesn't seem to travel as the door moves. I might as well just spray both of them at the bearings.

Dang, they stopped the 8365?? Aww man, are the new WiFi models at least still AC motor chain drive with 2 lights? Yeah the one-piece rails are definitely better to have.

@@Sharkie626 Yeah, they only upgraded them so you don't have to purchase the internet gateway.
