Check out what a friend has lurking in the garage. Its no barn find but just as good. Needs a full body restoration but the interior is fantastic. Been sitting for almost 20 years. Here is some more information on it.
1969 Dodge Charger R/T
-440 Magnum automatic transmission ~100K miles
-4 piston calipers factory brake package
-Stripe Delete option (1-year only R/T rear-quarter badges instead of R/T stripe)
-A/C option
-"Drove when parked" and hasn't moved or started in the last 18 years.
-Stored in a garage 90% of last 37 years
-Fender Tags and title are available
-F5 Forest Green
-3rd owner since 1984 with a clean Illinois title
-This is a very complete car with excellent interior and has been parked since 2006.
-Although very rusty and would require a new driver side floor board
Brief history per owner:
-Engine overhauled in 1989
-Crane cam, lifters, valve springs, timing chain set
-block and heads de-greased in an acid tank
-replaced bearings, gaskets, rings, push rods, freeze plugs, oil pump, water pump, fuel pump Done by previous overhaul:
-cylinders .040" over
-crankshaft journals .030" under
-valve seats and valve guides replaced in ONE of the eight combustion chambers
Also installed over the years:
- Oversize Holley carburetor replaced with original equipment Carter carburator (both included)
- Mallory Unilite distributor, coil
- Hooker headers, complete exhaust system
- new gas tank
- radiator re-cored
- front end overhaul (ball joints, control arm bushings, tie-rod assemblies)
- transmission overhauled
- In 2004, stainless steel brake lines, SS sleeved calipers, hoses, wheel cylinders, pads, master cylinder/power assist booster, silicone brake fluid
