You see, the compiling of Hadiths is different to the oral translation of Hadiths. After some research, when you look at the chain of narrations for this Hadith, it’s, Malik related to me from Nafi that Abdullah ibn Umar said. I believe this is a shortened narration too, meaning there are more people this may have been narrated too, however that’s besides the point. When you look at the birth of Abdullah ibn Umar, he was born on 613 CE, and this was when the Prophet peace be an upon him was alive. So just because the Hadith was compiled late after the prophet doesn’t mean that it’s unauthentic, because there are authentic chains of narrations.

Your whole foundation is based on denying its a rhetorical statement: The situation is this. A believes in the Torah, B believes in the Quran. A comes to B for judgement and B thinks why would A come to him for judgement if A believes he already has God's unaltered words (the Torah) to make the judgement for him and denies what B believes in (The Quran). It neither implies Torah they have is true nor the Quran. It just contrasts two different sets of beliefs. It's clear cut. The Gospel mentioned in the scripture is talking about the 7th century Gospels. King James Bible came on 1611. If we look back there are a lot of history and contradiction between each version. E.g Sinai Bible is a lot different than the KJV. There are 60000 different sects and they also have different versions. This whole topic needs good research on the chapters of the verses and the reliability of the scriptures and manuscripts and how long back they go. What might have changed? If everything is taken into consideration each people will come up with their own answers regarding this. I don't see any checkmate, but rather a discussion.

this is the context of the verse he is talking about.... when the jews came to prophet muhammad for judgement : (they say, "If you are given this, take it, but if you are not given this, then beware!") It was reported that this part of the Ayah was revealed about some Jews who committed murder and who said to each other, "Let us ask Muhammad ﷺ to judge between us, and if he decides that we pay the Diyah, accept his judgement. If he decides on capital punishment, do not accept his judgement." The correct opinion is that this Ayah was revealed about the two Jews who committed adultery. The Jews changed the law they had in their Book from Allah on the matter of punishment for adultery, from stoning to death, to a hundred flogs and making the offenders ride a donkey facing the back of the donkey. When this incident of adultery occurred after the Hijrah, they said to each other, "Let us go to Muhammad ﷺ and seek his judgement. Jesus was taught the Thora by Allah and that is why the verse says "between his hands" and then Allah revealed another book to him. And if your argue that the Bible you have today are the real Thorah and Injeel revealed to the prophets, give me an uninterrupted chain of transmission just like those we have for the Quran and the ahadith.
