The shields are for sound control. Drums are much louder in a live situation. These help to acoustically separate the loud instruments (i.e. Drums) from other musical instruments and vocalists that may be in close proximity.
I was in Brazil during this meurder of tis man Jim Harpper , and Yes I know wellthis country since 1996 and there is too much violence ... LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH !
You don't hear music like this in the south of the U.S. Alabama, where I'm from, has one rock station which is in Huntsville. It probably does play this, since they would play Garbage every other blue moon. Sadly, that station stops playing about thirty minutes from my house. :/
shirley manson is such an on fire hot lead vocalist/frontwoman...i love every thing about her and her band...plus that got that fella butch vig, a true a genius. :)
lol. I think she's trying to adjust the microphone stand, and having a hell of time doing it. Maybe she's just really really tightening it down. Shirley does tend to rock, roll, tilt and lean on those things quite a bit. Makes me wonder if she ever broke one in the middle of a performance.
this song makes so much more sense to me stylistically from how she performs live. It seemed like a huge departure, but is a very natural progression when seen next to the live versions of other tracks.
What the hell with the friggen mic stand altering--fixing during SUCH an outstanding and poignant speach!! SO awesome to see Duke back and seeing them 'tight' and OWNING that stage as usual!! Yeah WEEENIE ROAST!!
Those aren't to keep Butch safe, but to keep people safe from his cymbals, which he seems to shatter occasionally. They can hurt someone. Notice that he plays hard, and like all drummers, he's quite an animal at it.
Seen them 3 times on this tour would have been 4 if not for bad gas that messed up the car on the way to their Boston performance. Proud to be a Garbage groupie.
This is the first time I've seen her singing and performing since TSCC. I watched some of Shirley's earlier clips and I think she is great. Scots people who haven't heard of her should be ashamed, she's great. I played her for my Scottish builder yesterday. He had not heard of her. Most Scots I meet haven't. He was most impressed, so there you go.
I think it was one of the first shows of the tour, after a long break, so she just needed practice. Yesterday I saw them perform the song here at Monterrey, it's amazing, not bad at all! =)
I wish Shirlie was my very own robot to do with as I like.Oh wait,we've seen what happens. She goes "terminator" (The Sarah Connor Cronicles as Catherine Weaver).I'm still going to see them in Boston 5/26/12.
Yeah, I really think they never will. But who knows, a lot of bands came here in the last years, like Foo Fighters (which I finally could see and they played awesomely). Maybe they can come here when we least expect.
So bad that my country brings this sad memory to Shirl. Hope that Planeta Terra's amazing crowd at São Paulo concert had change it a bit when she eventually thinks about Brasil. We love you, we need another show here.
GARBAGE IS SUCH A GREAT BAND!!! NOT YOUR KIND OF PEOPLE IS A GREAT ALBUM, IN ADDITION THEY HAVE A HELL OF PERFORMANCE AND MTV DIDN'T INVITE THEM TO THE VMA'S 2012, SHAME TV, STUPID "MUSIC" CHANNEL
