Like that Ingersoll. Maybe a spike on top of the tube or a couple on each side to hang some weights. My blade digs better with a little weight.

Norm, before you plant grass, be sure to level out the soil and remove those big rocks & sticks. Try using a chain link fence section on a metal pipe. works well until the rocks and especially sticks need to be pulled out of the chain harrow. Don't made the harrow too wide , just a little later than your tractor wheels.

You might want to increase the angle on that backblade so it grips into the harder dirt too. Though it would make it harder for the light tractor but also better with snow.

I do still have it! In hindsight, I guess I could have used that! maybe sub-consciously I wanted an excuse to drag this rear blade out of the junk yard though...hmm

Hey I am new to your channel. Great videos so far. I am super interested in buying a 68 ford 120 I have come across. I am concerned about finding parts and stuff for it. It has like 6 working attachments and it runs and drives. I've just read a little on some forums that parts can be hard to find. In your opinion do you think that?
@Isavetractors

Our company, isavetractors.com, has all the engine parts you would need. We also have all the bearings you need. That's pretty much all the parts you will ever need. Check out our Ford 120 playlist as I have restored the exact tractor you're considering. Welcome to the channel!

Hi Norman ! I believe it would be more efficient if the length was cut in half, believe it or not but there is quite the flex in the square tubing at that length . Great video . Have a great summer !
@redneckawesomeness3825
@redneckawesomeness3825 6 лет назад
1armedguy It depends on what he wants to do to consider efficient. If grading (leveling) then it's better to have it longer and with some play but should have casters behind the blade. If moving dirt then yes would be better shorter and more rigid

Thats a handy sized tractor you got there! Sometimes I think a small 4x4 tractor is more use full than a large atv.
@jarrhead3538
@jarrhead3538 4 года назад
strr60seven unsolicited I can tell you from experience that a tiny 4x4 tractor is MUCH handier than an ATV. I own a Satoh Beaver, a little 15 horsepower twin cylinder diesel powered machine not much bigger than a riding mower. But it tugs very hard, and does things you wouldn’t expect it to do, like be able to use a 5 foot backblade for moving manure around in the garden. It will also outpull all the ATV’s we have, it can easily pull a 20 cubic foot trailer topped off to almost overflowing with wet oak and cherry to feed the fire in Winter. My only qualm is that it’s slower than an ATV, its max speed is about 9mph.

Peck drilling, make chip, raise the drill and repeat until you have a hole. Otherwise you can break off a corner of your drill bit
@Bassalicious
@Bassalicious 6 лет назад
The grader might be more effective if the angle of the blade was angled even more to scoop the dirt more than kinda scrape it. Might be wrong though..
@redneckawesomeness3825
@redneckawesomeness3825 6 лет назад
Should mount casters (pivoting tires) a foot or so behind the blade then it would do a better job at grading (leveling).

Great stuff, so simple but effective. Question for you, as I am also building something similar and thought to ask you first. As the arms are only lifting up and the weight of the implement needs to be heavy enough to dig the implement into the ground. How much weight would you recommend on the end of the tool if it is that far away from the tractor. I take it that distance away from the tractor also pays a role. I am trying to rough up some old drive why to smooth it out. Whats your guess? Thanks for the video.
