Is the John Deere 1025R tractor powerful enough to clear land? In this video we are going to demonstrate how easy it is to clear land using the John Deere 1025R tractor while using the Frontier BB2048 Standard Duty Box Blade. We will be focusing on how the box blade is able to clear roots and vines beneath the surface, collect debris, and leveling land . This is the second in a series of videos showcasing the functionality of the John Deere 1025R tractor in practical applications around the home. Version 2.

Why did you remove your roll over protection? Of all the stupid safety items crammed down our throats that one makes sense and works without causing any problems that I have ever encountered.

Great video. I have a 1023e with a BB2048. I just leveled a grave pad for a 40’ seacan. I need to ask you help. My 1023e has started having rear hydraulic lift trouble. Raises about 4” then sudden stop. Lowers fine. Then if I try a bunch of times, it will lift to full height. I have check everything the internet suggests. Do you think it could be hydraulic filter and screen needs cleaning? Thnx. David. Looking forward to watching your other videos

Thanks for your video. I have a question, why do you demonstrate everything with the ROPS removed when you specifically say it's dangerous? I don't mean to be negative but it does leave a bad impression.

Sometimes the ROPS is more dangerous to be in place. I've been in two accidents that were caused by the ROPS. It's important to use it appropriately.

I’ve got a small roll in my yard where a bush and rock were. Could I use the box blade to cut this roll and level it out, or could I do a decent job with the bucket? I’m totally new to this tractor thing. Just rolled to 3.7 hours on my 1025r
@EverythingGreenTractors

Yes I have leveled out similar issues in my yard. I also have used my grapple or bucket and backdragged the area. Thanks for watching!

The box blade is easier and more consistent but you typically have to take away the piles at the end runs

You mentioned the bucket causing a little lift effect to the back wheels. Would it be helpful to remove the bucket, thereby lightening the front end by 180lbs or so, when using the box blade? BTW, after watching this video the 1st time, I shopped around and got a BB2048 and am very impressed with the quality of its heavy weight construction. I need to wait a few weeks for ground conditions to dry out a bit before I can try it out. I’m anxious to use it.

I am glad you bought the box blade! I still want to use the bucket for grading when I use the rear blade or rake. I think that is what you are referring to? Thanks for watching and sharing!

Hello - great video! I noticed when you started working on the drive the tractor is bouncing all directions as you note, yet the box blade stays level on the ground. How is that, is there play or an adjustment on the 3 point that allows the box blade to move independently of the tractor (side to side) to allow that movement? Just wondering,,,, thanks!!
@EverythingGreenTractors
@EverythingGreenTractors 4 месяца назад
Yes the box will float on the back of the tractor if the lift arms are adjusted properly. There is no down force on the arms it is gravity driven so as long as the box can sit on the ground at rest it should float. Thanks so much!

I just got a great deal on a used 2048L and it wasn't really what I wanted, but the price was right. Still does a great job with only 3 scarifiers, but there are times when the tractor is really working to pull 3 barried scarifiers and a full box of dirt/gravel. I can't imagine that the bigger ones (60") with 5 tines are any easier to pull? The only thing about only having 3 tines is that I have to make more passes to tear the ground up more evenly. The one thing I'm not happy with is the scarifiers only have 3 holes to choose from and don't seem to go deep enough. I think I'm going to add a 4th hole with some welded on steel (or even just a nut) 1 inch up for just a tad more depth.

Thanks for the comments! I agree I would stay with the 4 foot box as you are correct with a bigger box it is harder to pull that much. You might be able to trade your used for a new bb5048 or bb2048. Call your local dealer to get the one you want

Do you have fluid in the rear tires ?

No I don’t. I mow my grass with my tractor which can be hard on the grass when turning.

Excellent video! I’ll be subscribing to your channel. No distracting music, just natural audio with a detailed explanatory voice over. I got my 1st tractor last July, a Deere 2025R with loader & backhoe and am loving it. I’m glad I saw your video because I was thinking about buying a rear blade, but now can see what I really need is a box blade. Will my 2025R have enough power to use a 60” box blade, or would I be better off with the 48”?
@EverythingGreenTractors
@EverythingGreenTractors 6 месяцев назад
Thanks so much! When using a box blade I typically recommend covering the tracks of the tires in your case 48". If you are in a sandy loam soil you can get away with a 60", heavy clay I would not recommend it. Thanks again!
@toms9841
@toms9841 6 месяцев назад
Sounds like the 48” will be right for me. Thanks!
@michaelrieser9928
@michaelrieser9928 6 месяцев назад
I have a 2025r and the 48 inch I feel is the right fit. If I dig down deep it can get hung up and if I have a lot of material in the box it can get hung up on that. Not bad, you just drop some material and press on or if I dig too low I just raise a bit as I dig. I think this all would be even more an issue with a 60 inch.
