I'm an American - still love his music, and a few songs of the newest CD (pictures from the other side, changes) are fantastic! He's authentic, as you know, some people just hate happy cheery types that make others smile - because they're morbidly depressed, God help them.
The funny thing is I didn't remember is stutter, but is talent. But saw him of This Morning, and it's great example to speak in public. Very inspiring .
We saw him in Footloose a few years ago in York - he deserves his fame - he was very, very good, and has overcome some serious personal challenges. Well done to you, Gareth Gates.

He had some big hits around the world, "Unchained Melody", "Spirit in the Sky", "Suspicious Minds", "Anyone of Us", and CHANGES is one of my favorite songs. "You can struggle with words, but you don't struggle with melody", It's exactly the same when a person that stammers talks along with other people e.g reading a book out loud is hard, read it along with other people is easy. Please someone, find a connection, and find a fucking cure.
I have a lisp and was badly bullied at school. It defines them not me. Now aged 53, I have been married for 30 years, still very much in love with my stunning wife, seen some great things and worked with some good people and some idiots who point out my lisp. People ask me why I don't get speech therapy. Why should !? My lisp doesn't bother me. If it bothers you, tough!

I am canadian...first time i watched this. i have to say i stutter myself. but when i sing i dont sutter at all. Dumple, stutters arent freaks. when we are talking our brain is thinking about other stuff...not the words we are saying. but when we are singing the lyrics are in our head. stuttering can be embrassing especially for the stutter. trust me i know. he is soo brave.
me too...when i was 15...but it took around 6 monthes to overcome...it's hard at first, but just try relaxing before speaking out ^^ don't rush, take a deep breath, say it slowly..and you will one day recover ^^ good luck ^^
Wow! Just shows you that you have to believe in yourself... I didn't know he was a pop singer. I saw him perform Empty Chairs at Empty Tables here on youtube and thought he was incredible! Love a success story always!
@Pmccaff2009 No, I saw him performing Joseph and the Amazing Techni-colour Dreamcoat and at the talking parts he had no stutter at all. He's overcome it a lot now :D I think it might come back every now and then but rarely ;)
He had stammer... A person with stammer had difficulty when speaking.. They are like: stuck sometimes when they wanna say something... I know because i had it too...
@@shifty2755 When you sing you use a different part of the brain, the left part of the brain controls speech, and when you sing that left part isn't being used. the right side of the brain however is being used, obviously this is only been researched in Iowa and may be prone to scrutiny of accuracy.

@Naruto0519 he's in Les Misérables doing tour for the 25th anniversary atm, i think he likes being in the theatre. i know no new songs :( he was on dancing on ice 2008 also.
