Tried making naan for the first time ever with this recipe. The taste, the softness and the texture was.. wow. Out of this world. Every single one in my family loved it. Thanks. Keep up the good work. ✌️
Best naan recipe ever! I make a double batch and freeze the dough after forming into balls. Also keeps really well in the fridge. Have kept in fridge for 5 days it was still perfect!
Turns out that this is the most successful cooking experiment I have ever had! Thanks for the great recipe and easy to follow instructions without saying a word! Wonderful Naan!
@@maelynriggs7382 yeah there is a conversion chart for substituting one for the other if I remember correctly a packet (at least in the US) is the right measure for this recipe.
The dough was very sticky and difficult to work with, I was temped to add more flour, but I was patient and it worked perfectly. I make an oil where I cop garlic and chillies and put them in a jar with an olive oil sunflower oil blend and let it sit in the fridge for months. I used that oil in the dough instead of plain oil. It gave the Naan a very subtle yet very distinctive flavor and aroma.
You have to knead it very good at least 10 min, till dough isn't sticky anymore. Maybe you didn't kneed it long enough, & added to much flour. Don't give up, practice makes perfect, they say.🫠
- 2 tsp active dry yeast - 1 teaspoon white sugar - 1/4 cup of warm water (60ml) - Stir a set aside for 10 minutes - In a bowl, add 4 cups or 500 g of all purpose flour - 1.5 tsp of salt and stir - Add the yeast mixture - Add 3/4 cup of Plain Yogurt (185 ml) - 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil - 3/4 cup of Warm Milk (180 ml) - Stir until a dough is formed - Amazar until soft, about 4 to 5 minutes - transfer to a lightly oiled bowl - cover bowl with plastic wrapper - let rise for 1 hour - 8 cloves of minced garlic - about a fistful of fresh coriander - after the hour, amasa a little the dough for it to be manageable and using some dry flour so it doesn’t stick, put on table and divide in 12 equal pieces. - roll each piece into a ball - roll each ball into a circle - sprinkle mixed garlic and coriander and lightly press onto the dough. - cook in a pan for about 2 minutes until large bubbles form on the surface for the first side, flip and 1-2 minutes on the other side too. - after removal, brush with a stick of butter.
I highly recommend this recipe for beginners. It's direct and easy to follow. This is my first time making naan and I'm so happy it turned out delicious. 💖😭
@@jill1485 Thank you so much. It'll be the first time I try it! I've only started cooking meals about a month ago and curries without naan are just not the same! ❤️
I found this recipe with a couple of minor tweaks is better than anything I tasted at local restaurants. As a foodie during the pandemic I leveled up my homesteading and culinary skills. It's July 2020 and my garden is overflowing with ripe veggies and herbs. Today with chicken, chilies and aubergines on the grill I decided to look up naan recipes to complement tandoori chicken and baigan bharta for dinner. As is, this recipe is simply wonderful. Here's where I tweaked; from step 2, kneaded using Kitchenaid stand mixer dough hook 5 minutes on setting #2. (Dough will be sticky/wetter than typical bread dough, no need for more flour). Followed up to step 5, after rolling dough instead of a skillet, it was placed on hot outdoor grill 2 mins per side. Then brushed with ghee, minced garlic and finely chopped coriander to yield the softest, fluffiest naan with a distinct grilled flavor. Yum! Yum! Yum! It was a big hit with my family. I will definitely make this again. Thanks for posting.
R North sounds lovely keep it up, I've been a Professional Chef for 30 years and Adore home cooked food. I also lived in Spain and the food there was just devine. Happy cooking, food for the soul. Best wishes Andre
I’ve made them exactly to the recipe and they are the best I’ve ever cooked at home. I kept the dough in the fridge overnight and it was even better the next day.
Made this tonight to go with lamb curry, what a great recipe! I used half of the dough to do naan, and the other to fill it with Lamb curry and baked in the oven, as lamb curry bread! Super. It’s my go to naan and now i know we can cook more curry and use the dough to wrap the left over, and keep for next day! Many thanks.
I am making this now, can’t wait. I made it and omg this is the best recipe I’ve found and I cook a lot. The next day, tastes just as good. I will say I was in a pinch as I didn’t have yogurt but sour cream. It was amazing
@@user-sf9gs2pg1b this recipe is probably the best I’ve made thus far. I doubled the batch froze one and even defrosted and he ate duo it was delicious
I made this today. It turned out great although the dough was quite sticky to start with. But I dusted with a bit more flour as I kneaded and it went great. Everyone in my home absolutely loved it!
Actually I tried this recipe today and it came very tasty and the smell is very good. I highly recommend this recipe and we need some more recipes like this..... it’s finger licking good ..... thank you so much 😊♥️🙏
I used your recipe tonight and I have FINALLY found my perfect Naan Bread!!! I have had so many fails with recipes that did not poof. Yours was perfect in performing as it should. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!!!!
I made these yesterday for my birthday dinner. I’ve never made home made Naan before. What a great recipe!!! They came out beautifully. Thank you for sharing. For those of us who do not have a heavy bottom skillet, would you suggest lightly oiling a regular skillet, for cooking the naan? I just noticed some Naan were more burnt than others...I cooked them for the same amount of time. Can’t wait to make these again! Greetings from Canada!
I have done this twice following this recipe and both times....so good. The first time they were a bit too fat because I did not roll them out enough..but they were so delicious both times.
Made this recipe this morning. Very good-But cooked it on a cast iron griddle, would recommend flipping Naan after 45 seconds because bubbles on second side were the only thing making contact with the griddle after the 2 minutes flip. So I had burned bubbles and the rest of the dough needed extra cooking. Last 3 were perfect after the 45 second flip.
First time ever baking anything and this turned out absolutely amazing for me! Thanks for having such an easy recipe to follow & having amazing taste!!
Tried this recipe its so delicious and soft I substituted coriander with parsley as I couldn't get coriander in my country trinidad...love Indian cuisine.❤
Shadowbenni would be a GREAT substitute! Coriander is like a milder type of shadow-benni. Hope this helps! My mom is a chef and she was born and raised in Trinidad😊
I really love the way you write everthing under each step of your awesome recipe not like some who refer us to some sort of boxes which is absolutely a waste of time 👌🙏 namaste
