I'm not the only one who thought it's so stupidly hilarious that legit every character half the time only freaks out about Garmadon because he has four arms, right? Like when he was on the bounty to help save Lloyd after he got captured by the Serpentine in the first season and Kai just being overprotective and jealous yet only saying he doesn't trust Garmadon fully because he has four arms

(Possibly?) Hot take: I think it would've been more interesting if we'd kept Sensei Garmadon in the show than Wu. I've always found him to be a lot more caring for the team, even beyond Lloyd (especially in season 4, seriously, Wu, what were you doing?). He was always a lot more than just another evil overlord to celebrate the defeat of - he was a good father and a wise man in a way that contrasted with his own evil, and that made us really feel for him when he has to leave his son and ultimately feel much happier when he gets freed. Aside from that, I also think he's a lot more funny than Wu? I love Wu as much as anybody but you have to admit that Garmadon's theatre kid shenanigans are absolutely iconic. He's also one of the few characters in the show that makes fun of the absolutely insane scenarios we have because this is Ninjago we're watching ("Why must everything have so many weapons?!" "Behold, the golden ninja"). Besides, most of the team already had stereotypically 'good' powers. Why not introduce a character that's been through a lot of dark things, both literally and metaphorically, and bounce the main cast off him in a way that challenges their assumptions about the world and forces their characters to keep developing past, what, season 4? I absolutely agree with the writers that the ninja didn't really need two Sensei, so why not keep the one who had more to teach? (Plus, I think it would've hit a lot harder and would've been a much ballsier move if Wu was the one to die). I cannot understate how annoyed I am that the writers decided to bring him back in season 8 onward and tried to play the big bad evil overlord thing straight, and then threw him out of the main cast the second he looked like he was actually going to develop past that into some semblance of his old self. It feels like the writers completely missed that this video is what we enjoyed about Garmadon, and we never quite made it back to that level.

Sure he tries to sabotage his training and hurt the other ninja, his only friends, but that's better than the alternative which is literally child abuse

Garmadon has the best character development in the whole series. Changing from an evil villain to a loving father.
