Garmin demonstrates its new series of instrument panel-mounted touchscreen displays that are rear-mounted into standard 3.125-inch panel cutouts, offering a simple way to replace legacy vacuum- or electric-driven instruments. The GI 275 can replace attitude indicators, attitude direction indicators, horizontal situation indicators, and course deviation indicators, and it can also replace engine instruments as a primary engine indication system. Garmin also demonstrates features of the updated GTN Xi series navigators.

Thanks for this great info... Just ordered a 750 & 650XI and some 275's and the Smart Glide Button... This Video should be required viewing for anyone purchasing this unit... Great info and Tons of Features.

The 275 is nice, but placing the control knob on the left was a complete human factors and ergonomics design fail. Most pilots fly with their left hand on the yoke and use their right hand to manipulate avionics, so with the knob on the left not only is it less accessible and less comfortable to adjust, but your hand covers part of the display.

Percent power in between the manifold and RPM on the top of the gauge in that dead space would be useful

The GI 275 attitude indicator completely ruins my night vision, is there a way to dim? / night mode?

I absolutely don't get the price ($4000 +/- $1000) of these things. Minuscule screen, no detail data, not certified (unless you spend $$$), not much to play with, ... Why is that thing as expensive as a G3X!?

Wow. You watch Garmin videos and list the topics, then pretend that you're asking questions and getting answers?

Small displays really just betray us and further the tragic retro state of GA. Those should not be products. A large display costs nothing today, CPUs cost nothing, it really is very foolish to hold on to the old. One large display that does all including radio.

You mean costs nothing outside of avionics. Have you looked at the costs of 'installed avionics' - a full glass panel runs upwards of $30k-$50k, that's more than 50% aircraft acquisition cost.

@@coolhari2000 I'm not talking about current prices in avionics but the actual cost of electronics. Electronics are quite cheap today. Display size costs nothing compared to avionics prices so it makes zero sense to make things small. Try to understand the difference between the state of GA and actual electronics.

@@DanFrederiksen I agree 100% dude. There's tablets for $50 with just as much or more processing & display capabilities.

Because people pay it. There aren't many people that fly, let alone update their systems. Getting the STC is a long and challenging process. So they recoup that cost in sales. Does a Ferrari cost that much to build in materials? That's not to say I disagree with you just saying it's the nature of the beast.
@DanFrederiksen

@@andrewq1876 nah bs. it's a self fulfilling prophecy. instead of all these little useless dial instruments certified, they could just make one big universal instrument. surely one certification is much cheaper than many. they want to keep it expensive but that just sets them up for a fall.
