Worth an upgrade Malcolm? Great watch

I am not a great tech-head but I do like a golf gear / gizmos so yeah, an upgrade is possible / likely

Did you go for the leather strap ? I see American golf do this for 299 at the moment. Looks a great piece pod kit

If you've had this watch for 5 months already, then lots of luck with it. Mine did not last as long. Returned it to Dick's Sporting Goods.

Charge it the night before so you know it is a full charge. Also, you can adjust the brightness of the screen which will help your battery life. I played 18 and still had 35% battery.

Still recommend it?

Can we use it as daily watch ?no heat or battery problem?

you need the approach ct10 to keep accurate scores I think

After you hit a ball and walk on you will see it next to a magnifying glass symbol you must have scoring enabled and stat tracking enabled it's got some sort of sensor in the watch that only reacts when you hit a ball !

And also, do these know the wind conditions?

@@denistran7400 The display is a 2D map only. When you are viewing the distance to the center of the green, you can tap on the number and it will adjust that number to reflect the elevation adjusted distance (e.g. it will add yard to an uphill shot, subtract yards for a downhill shot). Feels pretty accurate in my uses. Regarding wind, not it does not do that.

While your playing, hit the action button (top right button), which should take you to a screen that has a red circled "END" in the middle of the watchface. Around that are a bunch of icons that let you invoke other things (like the pencil to go to entering your score). Pick the icon that has a flag in it, surrounded by a circle with a pointer on the edge of it. That gives you distance and direction to the hole.

@@mohamadgilang545 Yes, I do experience the lag. It is certainly not as fast as I would like it to be. Sluggish. One of my main use cases is visually seeing where the bunkers are on watch. I've actually adjusted my average driving distance to be higher than it really is. My legit average driving distance is 204, but I've noticed on the courses I play that the arc that it draws at 200 does not quite get out far enough to see some of the fairway bunkers, so I have to scroll, which is slow like you said. By bumping my stated average to 240, it centers more often on areas of the fairway that I want to see. That has helped me not have to move the view as often.

I own the watch, when not in golf mode (aka GPS on) the battery life is about 10 days. No issue with heat for me.

Shaw, I've owned this watch now for about 2 months. The main advantage in my opinion versus the free apps on phones is the convenience of having it on your wrist, and not have to fiddle with the phone. Of course, if you have an Apple Watch, you can get 18 Birdies to run on it, and that neutralizes the advantage. Secondly, one of the best features on the watch is the Shot Tracking. It automatically tracks you shots and distances (you have to tell it what club you just used, but that is really easy to do while your in-between shots walking or riding. Once you've done this for a few rounds, you get a very good sense of what you really are doing with your irons and woods. It gives you a 'typical' distance, and max distance for each club. I've tested it, and it throws out shots that are duffs. For example, if you hit your 7 iron 20 yards because you hit it really fat or something, it won't alter your typical distance value. So, it really tells you what distance you hit when you hit it well, which is exactly what you want to know. Also, there is an expectation by some that it will track your score perfectly. It won't, just don't expect it to. It does not ever pick up putts, and sometimes does not detect short chips. No matter, don't expect it to. You enter the score at the end of each hole. You can enable/disable what it will track, either just the total score, or add in putts, penalties and fairway location (left, center, right). You can purchase the small sensors to put in one or more of your clubs. This prevents you from having to identify the club after a shot, and purportedly will count putts and chips when placed on the putter and wedges. I've not bothered with this because it really is not an area I need to track (I'm still working to break 90). It also can be paired with Garmins Swing analyzer, which I have not done. It is a device that attaches to the shaft of any of your clubs, and you uses it to get a ton of data on your swing (club head speed, path, pitch, head alignment, etc..). That will likely be the next thing I purchase for it. I previously owned Bushnell golf watch. Loved it, very simply. It just did not let me keep score on it, nor did it have any of the other advanced features. That said, it did have a much quicker way to show you distance to the bunkers. One button and it gives you a text screen with the distance to the RFB (Right Fairway Bunker), LGB (Left Green Bunker), etc.. Quirky at first, it quickly became the fastest way to find those distances. The Garmin s60 has a touch screen, you have to click to show a fairway view, move the screen with your finger to the bunker in question, and tap on it to get the distance. It ends up being just annoying enough that I usually don't bother. I'm hopeful that Garmin will update the watch to put the data on a single text screen accessed with just one button push. @@tomedwards7669 Glad to be of help! I finally decided to purchase the 3 pack of CT-10 club identifiers so I can have it track putts. I'm still glad I bought the watch. Enjoying it. Finally figured out how to see my score in the middle of a round of golf. It's easy, but the the manual doesn't tell you how to do it. In the middle of the round, you hit the upper right button, hit the icon that looks like a golf ball, and then swipe up and down to move screens, which will show you your current score. Easy peazy if you knew to swipe. Still the best advance golf watch, just shi$$y instructions!

Question plse, do you ever catch any of the side buttons with your wrist or sleeve, thus playing havoc with the screens? I'm sure you can probably lock the screen, but I'm sure would be a right PITA if you are having to constantly lock and unlock the watch before and after your shots...I'm slow enough at the best of times lol!! You need to enable tracking statistics. Golf Settings > Scoring > Stat Tracking, turn that on. Then when you start a round of golf, it will ask you if you want to keep score, say yes. Then at the end of each hole it will ask you your score, but with stat tracking turned on, it will now ask you how many putts, penalties, and where your drive went (left, middle, right).

You swipe the face downwards or upwards until you reach hole #10

As Angel said, you can swipe up or down. However, you can also run your finger on the screen from 12 o'clock clockwise around and it will quickly run through each hole. So if you start a round, and you've decided to tee off on hole 10, and your watch shows hole 1, just run your finger around the edge of the face, it will quickly tick through each hole. Faster way to get to 10 than one screen swipe at a time.

Yes, that was the main reason I decided to go ahead and spend the dough to get it.
