Thanks for a great tutorial!.. I was wondering how the Auto-Guide works. I hope it does a better job than the Garmin in my truck as it takes me on the wrong route occasionally!
Lol cap i hope it works well right now im working on installing a new Garmin Autopilot so i can get rid of the Terrible Raymarine😬 and hopefully this Garmin will make my trips a lot smother😉👍👍⚓🛥
Funny..I just did a video on some Garmin stuff too. BTW they just came out with the Garmin Navionics Vision+ charts. Its modeled after Navioncs and also has Active Captain contained in it. You can also get the high resolution contours for fishing. Its pretty amazing. I actually have an extra one for our area. If its compatible with your unit ill sell it to you very cheap. I get a big discount on Garmin and ordered an extra. But now I dont need it.
Awesome cap. The reason i got this one is because is the only one that covers the entire Florida the Gulf and the Atlantic and the Caribbean that why i had to get this card any other card like the vision dont have the areas i use cap thanks for the awesome offer buddy😉👍👍⚓

How do I steer the course using auto... guidance? is there a navigation sceen like on simrad units? or steering screen like lowrance has? your input would be greatly appriciated
If your sharp plotter does not show that you have auto guide. You need to update your SD card with that capability, captain. You can call garmin, and they're very helpful.

I upgraded to a Garmin 742 with auto guidance but I just can’t seem to get my older autopilot to steer by route. It’s not recognizing gps mode even though nema is sending coordinates from the gps.
Qua captain sorry to hear that that is very dangerous maybe garmin won't do that hopefully but sometimes you have to update your chart because the sandbars they move around
I have the same Garmin,, recently half the screen (top half) only works so I dont have the ability to use the bottom buttons, Home, Menu and so on. has that ever happen to you and do you have a fix?
Can your Raymarine autopilot actually follow the Garmin auto guidance route? My understanding is that this would not work, this is why I recently went with a Garmin auto pilot. Maybe you found a way to make this work?

@@bml376 is very easy i will show it in a feature video, tha chartplotter asks you what is your draft or bridge clearance, in the draft if you shose deepwater settings it will keep you in deeper water, for instance if you shose 20 feet it will keep you on that deep water cap

@@OutOnTheReef it would show other boats in the area and be able to track them if they were equipped with the ais. It's an automatic information system designed to track vessels through their use of vhf radio and have a unique identifier tied to their radio.
@@tomkeating65 But one thing is that I don't like to be seen where I'm at so imagine if everybody knows where I'm at Because I like peace and quiet so the less people know where I'm at the better lol

But when others turn on their radar, you'll be seen on their screen whether or not you have ais, ais is more for safety and you can see where they're going, you can track them easier, like in nasty weather. You wouldn't want to run into them? You wouldn't necessarily have to turn it on.
I am very close to the helm and I'm inside the pilot house so the glare of the sun does not reach inside that much captain so it's perfect for my pilot house
This looks like it was made by drug smugglers.....imformative for sure, just seems like the cartel boat driver is way too smart to be running drugs though
