I'm curious about if the 780 handles personal POIs/WP like the 760? Which is horrible. You didn't address that. These GPS units will store 500 WPs. You sit at the dinning room table the night before the trip and scout out places you'd like to visit and save them onto the unit. Garmin BaseMap lets you create and customize these WPs. Gives you numerous "DISPLAY" options for icons to choose from. Then load them up onto the unit it shows only as a really BIG BLUE rectangle callout. Nothing else. Load a couple of them for a location and these BIG BLUE callouts block up the map screen underneath. Can't see a thing? Question: Did Garmin get it wright on the 780? Did they fix the displaying of personnel WPs? Is it worth $400 to get the updated RV GPS?
