Have a good Buddy who has the Force on his Skeeter . Having issues . The motor turns but will not turn left or right from the foot control . Have done an update to the software but hasn't fixed the issue . Any advice ? . Thanks Buddy
I am looking for another trolling motor. I bought the Minn Kota power drive 2 years ago and its been a hassle. Spot lock doesn't seem to work that well, constantly moving around. spins in circle, and when the motor adjust it wraps around itself. Now the prop won't spin and prob needs a new control board. Def don't recommend the Minn Kota
I’m comparing the kraken and the riptide instinct to pair with my Garmin echo map chartplotter. I like reversing propeller on the Kraken and the Garmin to Garmin connectivity, but the drift and cruise function on the Minkota is very intriguing to me because I will primarily use the trolling motor to actually troll… But I’m torn. Do you have an opinion on the differences? I find it ironic that they are marketed as a “trolling motor” but the majority of the videos suggest that the primary use is casting for bass… I would like advice on the best actual “trolling motor” for trolling. Thanks
My son got a used skeeter 21 ft with 50 hours on it ,I sold my boat and but all new Garmin equipment on it we both love it still learning how to use it thanks for the help with your videos. The fish was 14 oz
Awesome bud i used to have a zx200 and loved it it you have any specific questions just message me and let me know thanks for watching yes you are correct on the fish good luck
One of the techs said that there is a little slop built into the trolling motor. You gotta have the remote around. I hate having it around my neck, but it is a great system.
Great video, thanks. 14oz - too late :) I'm about to buy either the Force or the Kraken. I think I want the Force because I really want it to be easy to stow and deploy, feel like the Force is better for that. I have a Crestliner 1750 Sportfish - if anyone has advice between the two I'd greatly appreciated it
Do you believe that the Force is so efficient that you can get by with using smaller group size of conventional batteries, such as Group 27 rather than group 31 batteries. 27's are lighter and cost less, but also do not have the power that the 31's do. I'm rigging a new boat with a new Force for the first time. In the past, I have always used the largest conventional trolling motor batteries I could. I mostly crappie fish now, but if the weather is crazy, I wont be on the lake; I don't brave and fight a lot of wind anymore. So, I don't expect absolute performance and longevity of charge.
How did you feed the Panoptix cable through the power cable/transducer chase on the side of the mount? I have also had my share of issues w/ the Force, however Garmin's customer service is 2nd to none.
I have not bought one of these yet but one thing holding me back is the foot control it is too big my back is fused and standing using that foot control is going to be murder. I currently use a motor guide w75 with low profile remote foot control. the hand held remote is where its at but I plan on crappei fishing mostly how does the remote work for you while using the trolling motor and fishing with livescope?
14 ounces! Great video I am on the fence wether or not to buy the force to link up with my garmin units or buy terrova just for spot lock. How useful is the link or do you find yourself mainly using spot lock?
Will the chartplotter link to trolling motor for wireless sonar as well or is it just for controlling the motor? Would be awesome if I dont have to use a wire to the sonar. Im getting my boat rigged this week with all new garmin units and motor.
Looks like 14oz, nice video. I just bought a new used boat. It came with a Garmin force, 2 8410 and a 923 and live scope all connected. I believe I'll love this setup when I finally get out on the water this Spring. Looking forward to more video's.
When I hit spot lock it is instant I was fishing the strong winds we had this past Saturday on bisteneau it’s a great trolling motor I’m waiting on my new remote to play with it
I’ve had no problems with mine. I guarantee I use mine more than the average person and I’m Extremely rough on it due to where I fish. Sorry you’ve had a bad experience
@@kevinmckinney I thought you were referring to my Livescope transducer. Sorry. Honestly I never use the gt54 on the foot of the trolling motor. I think it’s an overrated item that has zero functionality in fishing.
I thought the same because no one has done a review on the troller Moter transducer. I just got the 106 & 126 (black Friday sale) and the Force and livescope is next. Thanks for your great videos 😎👍🏽
Another great video! I did the update yesterday on my trolling motor but now my Garmin Force won't turn left or right. It is paried to the foot pedal but won't turn left or right from it or the remote. I can adjust the power and turn on the propeller but that's it. I called Garmin and all they said was to unplug to reset it but that didn't work. I unpaired it and paired it again but nothing. Any suggestions before I take it to the shop? Thanks in advance :)
@@The_Garmin_Guru yep the update on the Force. Not sure if it is related but afterwards I had to pair it back to the wireless foot pedal. But the only issue now is that it won't turn 😩
If the low switch continues to bother you add a thin piece of plastic with double sided tape until you find the feel you looking for. Great reviews, thanks for all the info!
14 oz. Thank you for the video, trying to decide or trolling motor for new rig. Previous was the riptide terrova, no real complaints about it but the force seems to be much better. But spending that amount on it, takes doing homework beforehand.
I have quite a few videos I’ve done on the Force. Check them all out. I’m pretty happy with it and I fish a lot. Thanks for watching lots of good videos on the way.
Both are good trolling motors. The quietness and longer run time pushed me toward the force and I love the no cords which clears up clutter. But the ultrex is a fine motor also.
Lol, GPS is down to the fractions of a inch, Garmin just doesn't have the technology to use it and make it affordable to the public, if you get a chance, find some rough water where your trolling motor is coming out of the water, a few people are saying the Anchor mode will kick out and you have to reboot the unit to get it working again, I'm shopping for a trolling motor and I fish rough water.
@@The_Garmin_Guru You are correct, That's why I said Garmin doesn't have the ability to make it affordable to the public, a real accurate GPS GNSS is within 2CM margin, the regular commercial GPS is 5.97 ft, you won't find a surveyor using commercial GPS working land survey, it will be GPS GNSS that is licensed, a lot of people don't know that. Keep the video's coming, I enjoy them
I’m pretty sure you can brother. It’s been a long time since I’ve done anything with the remote. I’ll take a look when I get off first of next week. Sorry wish it could be quicker
@@The_Garmin_Guru thanks no problem, the TM is working and I was able to manually load it on active captain but can’t check for updates or do any down loads but at least it’s registered with garmin. Was able to calibrate the compass and get the anchor lock working and link it to my 106SV. I think if I delete everything and go back to factory settings I’ll loose all that and my son and I are going on a fishing trip next week to Heber Springs! Might wait until we get back to have to start all over again! 👍🤷🏻♂️
I adjusted the gain it did not help this is the 2nd Force I’ve had the first would be doing fine then take off on full power to one side or the other then it just died they replaced it they said to not let the shaft slide down pinching the cables was the cause. Today the cables weren’t pinched literally just turned left and went in circles at half speed
I have heard several people say that every time they power up it will say you have to update and they say it’s not until you are on the water when this happens. Does your do that? And if it does what all is entailed in that process? Thanks. New to channel and really enjoy past videos. My boat came with Garmin so I’m wanting to keep it all Garmin. I fish one lake, so I don’t need a bunch of chart plotting updates. Fish on.
@@Carywilliford I’ve only updated mine once. The only place it says that an update is available is the active Captain app. I not sure where else it could say that because the remote doesn’t say that. It’s easy to update tho
Thank you for the videos of the Force. Please keep them coming. I’m currently on my second Garmin Force. The first one was replaced for a number of reasons. One of which was how much ‘play’ my motor has. It seems to rock back and forth when I pulse the propeller. Second issue was the automatic reversing issue I experienced when I hit anchor lock. Currently, both Force motors I’ve had have the same issues. This means either I’ve had two dud Forces, or they are all the same. Would love to see a video showing how your Force behaves when you hit Anchor Lock. I’m dying to see one not automatically turn the head and reverse back. This would give me reason to request another replacement or to get my money back. Appreciate your time!
I had my boat custom built last year and I went with the Ulterra, due to me always fishing by myself. So I can deploy the trolling motor and bring the boat to me. Oh...14oz
