Seems like having topo maps would be useful in navigation, especially if one is bushwacking and gets lost. But those typs of watches cost twice as much. have you been satisfied with the type of birdcrumb navigation that your watch uses?
I'll be honest, for years I used a Rhino 110 and Etrex which just had the bread crumb maps and they have always been fine to me. I don't use the maps for much other than getting me back to saved locations (where I put my trail cameras, etc.) so for me this is all I need. If you are someone who does cycling or other outdoor activities I could see where having maps would be very beneficial vs. the breadcrumb you get on the Instinct.
Both the Instinct and Fenix will work fine for your fishing needs. The Instinct is more like having a Casio G-Shock on your wrist (rugged, light weight), the Fenix is like having a high end smart watch (dressier, still rugged, heavier). I had both and dumped the Fenix, because I just enjoyed the Instinct more. The one big advantage of the Fenix is you actually have maps vs. the Instinct that you will just have a bread crumb map to get you back to your fishing spot. Both are awesome in their own way, good luck!@@joey2658
Thanks for the video. Can it navigate in the way with recommendation like road to take, where to turn (like Google Maps things) or only navigate in a straight line? Sorry for my bad English if I make you confused about my question.
Does it act as a stand alone gps or do you have to have your cell phone? I was looking at the g shock bpr 1000 range man but it’s discontinued and costs a fortune. Looking for a standalone solar power gps watch to have for my bugout bag in case we go dark and all we have is satellite gps tracking
My Instinct doesn't have Navigate under GPS, and there is no Add option on the GPS menu (just a bunch of activities). How do I add Navigate to it? Thanks.
Hey i have a question. I cant get a GPS signal no mater how hard i try. Its saying '' GPS SIGNAL IS STRONGER OUTSIDE AWAY FROM TALL BUILDINGS AND TREES'' so i was trying outside in good spots, in diffrent areas, but the same message. Been using my garmin solar camo wacth for 2months now. Without GPS i cant use escpetitions, and other fuctions that needs GPS. ANY help guys?
I assume you have tried restarting the watch, if not I would recommend that. If you have done that and you can still not get a GPS signal I would give Garmin a call. I live in the middle of the woods, and can still get a GPS signal (even while in my house), so I think something is up with your watch. Garmin's customer service I have found to be very good, hopefully they can help you out.
I think this video will get you what you need but if not let me know. Garmin Instinct Watch - How To Save Your Location - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0dqg_O7L124.html
I noticed in all your videos you use the same watch face. Just curious is that just personal preference or does that face save more battery? Great vids!
Yes it has nothing to do with your cellphone. . . it is using built in GPS. You can leave your cell phone in the truck. . . you just won't be able to get cell phone notifications and weather data. . . .but everything else your watch can do on it's own.
@@Hagen_Music_Sounds you don't need cell phone reception to navigate with this device. You don't even need a cell phone with you. You just need to be able to connect to satellites via the built in GPS.
