I noticed that when you create routes in Garmin Basecamp using its trip planner, made stops and assigned a "layover" time on each stop and then transfer that route to the Garmin, the device will not take your custom times into account. I tried this on a DriveSmart 65 and 66. I haven't tried it on my old nuvi 2597 LMT. Not sure what those custom times are for if the devices do not use them/take them into account. Also on my 65 and 66, it will only show you the departure time of the route if you use Basecamp's trip planner.
Thanks…great video. Some comments/notes/questions: - With the Nuvis where you can pick the travel date I wonder if it uses traffic trends for those dates - It’s not intuitive ….example…why we search CATEGORIES when searching for locations like Guitar Center - As many functions are non intuitive, I wonder if there’s a hidden way on the 66 to schedule a time. Have you tried tapping on the Time or Distance parts on the screen? Not sure where my 66 is at the moment 😂. When I locate it I’ll give it some testing.
@@mariannelanger7423 I don't know whether trafficTrends is taken into account when calculating routes. No idea. "Categories" in Route Planner is basically the equivalent of "Search POIs" and is the same as a generic POI search from "Where To?" Good guess on trying the Time and Distance fields in the Route Planner, but they do not bring up any additional menus for scheduling.
