Amund Zen I got one today and return it right the way. the touchscreen is very difficult to use. The polar ignite is much much better. Go back to my forerunner 245

You'd be surprised - there's no issues here with this AMOLED display in super bright sunlight (even atop a mountain mid-summer on a blue-sky day).

That's an interesting fact. Thank You. I'm just new to Garmin. I've had a Samsung Galaxy watch(714b), for just a little over a year and it is breaking bad! My "credit" toward my phone bill in order to get it "free" on a BOGO, Sept. 2019, won't end before the dang thing will!!! LOL!!! Kinda. I'm disappointed with Galaxy! But now that I know about the display science, I can choose well to suit my 61 year young eyes! Thank you!

Think from one of the screens I saw online that Sleep is now view able without the app. So yes most things should now be covered. (Update it does show this on Garmin website although page I was viewing looked like the image was missing.)

JohnOrion definitely looks like crap compared to a Citizen eco drive or similar. Garmin really wants to force users to get a MARQ for nice dressable watches

It does not have CrossFit prelisted in activities but there are CrossFit exercises under Gym and Fitness category in the mobile app. The watch categorize it as “Strength” activity. The watch can track sets, number of reps performed(not accurately but editable for accuracy), duration of the set, tracks heart rate, calories burned for that set performed. Once you’re done with your set you push a button to stop the set and you’re given a chance to correct the amount of reps and the weight in pounds before saving the activity. When you sync the watch to your mobile app, you can edit and add the name of the exercise. Not all CrossFit exercises are listed and you can’t create an exercise. I suppose it’s useable for CrossFit and other strength activities but it can be cumbersome adding the weights used, categorizing the exercises performed every time you complete a set. And this can take more than a minute to do in between sets (if you’re trying be strict on 1 minute rest in between sets). Or you can edit everything after your workout session.

It's not a true endurance sports watch, but it's a solid watch for everyone else. I'm hoping to finally get out a full/final review next week on it. Wireless charging for wearables is tricky because there’s rarely cross compatibility between units due to size of coil. Also, for Garmin there’s a long history of having direct access via USB and not requiring the app if you don’t want it.

I've done two swims now - no issues with freestyle for me.

Hi, did you try running with music through bluetooth earbuds with GPS on, leaving behind your phone? How was the bluetooth connectivity and how much battery did it drain for a 5k or a 10k run? Thank you.

Can you get music to play without WiFi though? Also my battery on the venu only lasts 1-2 days max.

Just got the venu and finding the battery doesn't last more than 2 days.

No issues for me in direct sun, including usage on some super sunny days.

Or the Venu / Vivoactive marketing department when the Fenix 6 came out with 21 day battery life. They've got both sides of the market covered, so they're fine.

Mostly metrics and functionality are the key points. If you are going to do a Triathlon either look at Fenix or Forerunner 945. Some key but important differences from the outset is both devices are button not touch screen functionality against Venu or VA4. Actually really useful since touchscreens can be harder to operate when wet or with gloves etc. Buttons eliminate any "false positive" presses and can still be used to navigate quickly. Both devices have maps. There also is a crazy amount more of metrics that are useful to doing a triathlon as well as a fully functioning Triathlon mode which Venu doesn't have (you would have to record the swim, run and bike separately). Additionally the Forerunner whilst less rugged than the Fenix is very light due to a relatively durable plastic casing etc which mean you notice it less on your wrist. Conversely the Fenix is heavier than a Venu or Forerunner but way more durable, bashable etc and perfect for when you want to start aiming for ultra marathons or Iron mans etc. It also is 10 ATM rated (Forerunner and Venu are 5 ATM)... Which roughly translate to being able to go down to 100 meters. Of course one of the best things Garmin is known for is also Battery life - which both the Forerunner 945 and Fenix 6 absolutely thrash Venu on. Look at the specs on Garmin.com for any other differences you may need but that sums it up as best as I can.

Tom Langstrand for light trainings - probably Venu. 945 is pretty high- end Professional oriented sportwatch. Venu should do the job for you. You could also see the Fr235 or Fr45 Hope this helps. Give any feedback on what youngsters decided.
