Considering Syd's "wholesome midwestern girl corrupted by Japanese smut" backstory, I'm kind of surprised Eiken being her first look at that stuff didn't push her back onto the righteous path.
The moment I saw Eiken in this 3X3 I knew immediately that this was Sydney’s list. I pretty much had the same reaction that she had when I first watched this
oreimo was it for me to be Sydney as sydney is just a female garnt at this point which I feel confident saying seeing as how they actually married but also so similar to each other but at the same time different where it matters i also watch miss sydsanp as much as i watch garnt so xD
i swear this was done bcs i remember syd being there when the boys were talking top 10 hentai's and or garnt and sydney have done this and it was hilarious i recommend it long story short sydney is every hentai protag known to man she just missing the no eyes troupe xD
I love that in Bobobo's manga, Bobobo opens his afro and Yugi Moto pops out, drawn by Kazuki Takahashi, to summon Slyfer the Sky Dragon. This is also one of his attacks in Jump Ultimate Stars on DS.
I never thought I would see something I hate more than Kanokon, because of that insipidly whiny pussyphart of an MC, but Eiken fell into the dreck chasm to give it serious competition as world’s worst anime garbahj.
5:37 We actually did get Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo in the UK as it was on the Fox Kids channel which at the time I think you could only view using a Sky box. Fox Kids in the UK seem to get a lot of anime like Digimon, Naruto, Medabots, MegaMan NT Warrior, Viewtiful Joe, Sailor Moon, Flint the Time Detective and Shin Chan to name a few.The channel later became Jetix and then Disney XD. Meanwhile Toonami in the UK, which was it's own channel rather than a time slot (originally CNX), didn't have many anime shows but did have the likes of Gundamn Wing, Dragon Ball Z and One Piece. Also I'll always remember the cell saga uk advert that had the guy with the megaphone.
@@Wkhaleh, I think that most people consider Eva decent at the very least even if they didn’t like it, but I’ve seen Anohana be called terrible by a lot of people.
@@thomasffrench3639 I've actually never heard of people disliking Anohana very interesting to know I've seen a lot of people call Evangelion bad or poorly written
@@Wkhalvery interesting. I tend to have way different experiences to most anime fans than other. I am annoyed by Hunter x Hunter fans and anime first Fate/Zero fans because they are elitist a lot of the time, but no one has heard about it. Maybe it’s because I’m not on Twitter. But yeah I’ve seen anti-Anohana pretty often. It’s not the popular opinion, but it has a good number of people. And I know people who hate Eva, but not many people who would call it bad.
@@thomasffrench3639 I personally never heard of that either. At least not divisive. Its just a show you always include with Clannad, Your Lie in April and the like. And for Eva I'd think on first showing people would say that is confusing and weird. Not everybody would get it on their first watch so it's divisive in that sense.
I went into both Anohana and Your Lie in April completely blind because I had vague knowledge that both were well-regarded and I enjoyed the art styles. I left both of them crying my eyes out lol
Garnt's comment about Anohana's music conditioning you when to cry is how I felt about Made in Abyss season 2, every single time Old Stories would start playing. 😭
the multi probability(convolution) mistery is what makes higurashi and umineko interesting, nothing the horror, or violence. 2 good pieces of work, never ended umineko though
I think Anohana is one of those shows that I would rewatch to have the nostalgia of what it is like before smartphones, tiktok, MHW, FF 14, and dare say AOT SAO. It's abit like making my kids watch steins gate and go, yeah back then we had CRT, and Y2K was a legit concern, and there was someone who claim to be called john titor claimed that he/she time traveled.
As somebody who writes stories, looking up how much gas is required to blow up a school is perhaps the least sus thing you might want to know. Reading obscure research papers, watching crime documentaries, spending hours on youtube to learn about swords and other seemingly random things can be all helpful. An author needs a lot more information than what the reader gets in order to accurately set up a scene. Here's another sus sounding yet completely legitimate topic an author may look up. How long it takes somebody to faint from blood loss and how various activities or lack of preventative actions influence that? Zoro is cool and all but a serious author writing a serious story may not want their characters to ignore life threatening situations? The "wounded soldier drama" is also a very common trope where blood loss and its effects should be considered.
Volume of air held in the class. the air to gas mix ratio for explosive ignition. The rate of flow for the gas line, like if it’s a science classroom with gas lines for burners. And means of ignition. I totally just put myself on a list, didn’t I?
5:40 Grant is wrong. We did get Bobobobo bobobo in England. The dub was definitely on TV in the UK prior to 2008. We also had Naruto, One Piece, OG shaman king, medabots, hamtaro and a few others. But I think they were only available on Sky. But they all disappeared from kids TV by like 2012.
Bo-bobo is amazing. If the anime’s already insane enough then you’re not ready for the manga, where the humor is even cruder. Also for some reason, the food-headed fighters take themselves the most seriously and it’s just _incredible._
I'm from the UK and at some point we deffo got bobobobo because I have some deep childhood memories of it from before I started watching anime so it must have been on TV
In the new Garnt stream with 2024 Winter shows, he said he would skip Brave Bang Bravern, and people clowned him in the comments for skipping it in his edited video on the second channel.
@@hungrydavomaybe it’s just because it stands out this season, but yeah if it came out last season I probably wouldn’t be as kind to it. Also MAL has an anti mecha bias with the exception of Code Geass which is probably the most overrated mecha show.
@@PrograError idk about that but MAL scores always bias, remember kaguya sama get no 1 scores in MAL, and next day it got dethrone again by fma fanboys (i love fma but i hate the fanboys especially from mal)
@@CrimsonCharanif you look up in the Wikipedia of eiken he's credited. He also voiced in a terrible Ecchi anime called green green. I know because I used to own the entire series back in highschool.
Eiken was not only my first ecchi anime but one of the first I watched in general (obviously I watched Pokemon and DBZ but at the time I didn't know what anime was). Funny enough, Sekirei was the anime that got me into anime
Eiken is reprehensible trash, and a couple of those designs aren't even appealing to an oppai fiend, but the main girl is *chefs kiss* and there are some absolutely classic gifs to be had from that abomination. Theyve been absolute staples in the bank since I was a wee lad and they'll never get old. The waterslide arc is a true classic.
Higurashi? BASED?! Garnt not finishing S2 is a crime. The story isn't that convoluted, it's just detailed and well crafted. Friendly reminder to read Umineko no Naku Koro ni. Best piece of fiction ever written. (don't watch the anime, it bad)
I can see Sydney liking Naruto. I know the series gets a lot of shit from the anime community due to its fans, but if you take them out of the equation, it really is a good series. Also hot take, Naruto has more in common with seinen than it does with shonen in terms of story and fights early on.
Wait … what? They’re treating Anohana like a time period piece? I’m so confused dude, like wtf … why? Look past story elements to see the story; because Anohana is absolutely beautiful. If you can love YYH in 2024, you can ABSOLUTELY love Anohana in 2024 as well. For some reason that doesn’t even make a single bit of sense to me. That’s like saying Working! Can only work the year it came out. Uhh … why? The most minor elements in the universe contribute to the overall story. And the story is greater than whatever sum of its parts make you feel like it’s a date piece, which I still just don’t believe it’s true regardless.
My first animes were slayers, magic knight rayerth and Dragon Ball…. I was like 6 or 7 years old and for some reason they broadcasted a French dubbed versions of these animes. Mind you I don’t live in a French speaking country 😂
I mean... It kinda describes Sydney perfectly... of course this is her 3x3. What did you expect? I'm actually kinda shocked there's not more straight up hentai on the list.
I largely learned about that show from her video. Still have yet to watch it though (the anime). Absolutely something I would have watched in the early 2000s though.
I vibe on Anohana being a 1-time watch. I felt it was overrated. I did not cry and I didn’t get hit in the feels. I think I appreciated 2 of the 5 characters, with the other 3 being predictable characters. However, I do understand people’s high level of appreciation for the series. Secrets begetting the real truth people don’t want to open up, and the fear of rejection from the exposure of said secrets… but that’s gets old fast.
7:48 Joey always with these TAKES. Maquia is not only insanely different to Anohana, (it's a fantasy movie vs. a mostly realist coming of age anime series) it's also nowhere near as good or iconic. Not that it's bad, but it's noooo Anohana
I think anohana and all the good anime that's in a 24 episode format that isn't adhd shounen tons of fight or don't hook you hard in the first three episodes
naruto and ouran i get, even eva(even though the manga is far superior in every single way, now that its finished). but ore imo and eiken? she has something dark inside. that's all i gotta say about that. also, was expecting sakura, the fact there are people who dont put sakura in their favorite anime lists depress me...
