Garry is pure genius. One of the funniest and most brilliant comedians to grace the stage! The Larry Sanders Show was the most brilliant show on TV.

One of the greats... he had such a funny mind, and a unique delivery. Johnny Carson once said truly funny people are naturals... born that way... with the ability to see the humor in things and communicate that perspective to others. That was Gary Shandling. R.I.P.

I lived in Vegas for almost a decade when Gary did several shows and he NEVER disappointed. He will be missed by all of us who truly love comedy and his brand of self effscing humor mixed with self admiring jokes at the same time.He was just awesome and I never felt like I didn't have a great time and he got me through some tough dates

He was so exposed and knew how to turn every part of his enormous sensitivity into humor. I'm sometimes amazed at how much the Jews have contributed to American comedy in general, and Larry Sanders on his show was just ahead of everything we see today in the comedy field.

Oh man. THAT was an unexpected surprise. I'm roaming around, looking for a quick video to watch before I get back to my chores, and I see this. "Oh cool! I can do this AND the dishes." Yeah, no. HAD to sit down and watch it-watch it. The dishes started to complain and I told them to shut up or I'd replace them. (Works every time.) THANKS, Daniel, for having this and posting it. It always feels good to laugh.

I met him a few times. In 1978-79 I was a bar-back at a comedy club (Giggles) south of Toledo. I met Garry, Bill Kirchenbauer, Mike Binder, Bill Maher, and Carlin. I drove them to and from the club in my Chevy Malibu to their rooms at motels and condos. Time of your life kid!

Growing up, watching plenty of network TV, I developed an affinity for standup comedy performers (The Standup Golden Age: Woody Allen, Rich Pryor, G. Carlin, David Brenner, Joan Rivers, David Steinberg, Robert Klien, Henny Youngman, Dangerfield, Dick Shawn,, Bill Hicks, , . Gary came along and moved in immediately to the top of my list of favorites and stayed there until his untimely, way too soon demise. I watched and laughed EVERY time this man performed on TV. Always fresh material. He could do NO wrong. Larry Sanders was as original and classic as Curb Your Enthusiasm. Miss you Gary!

For sme reason I thought he had passed pretty recently but it was back in 2016. Anyway, I've been re-watching a lot of his work, and listening to other entertainers reminisce. He is hilarious, but at the same time you can tell he's just the nicest guy. --And that's exactly what people like Conan O'Brien, Leno, Letterman, etc all say about him. Do a search of Conan O'Brien talking about his friendship with Gary. Rest in peace, Mr. Shandling, you left way too soon.
